Thanks for posting that jetting compensation chart because even though it also appears on the sticker on the underside of the hood of my Storm ... I had no idea that that stuff even existed ... I just thought I could put whatever carburetor wherever I want ... I had it completely kittywampus ...🤯 ...correcting it now ... HUGE thank you !!! Terry, Michigan ...
Glad to help
It would be helpful as u went through that list to show how u did everything
Maybe I’ll make that video sometime but there are a ton of good videos online on how to perform each task 🫡
I wish my Yamaha 700 triple had individual lower airbox pieces! Man it's a pain getting all 3 boots on at the same time!
Air boxes are the worst!
You know what I find helps with that... "Vaseline Petroleum Jelly" .... placed at certain key points just before attempting to reinstall the airbox ...a little Heat from the heat gun on the rubbers that fit around the carburetor throat also helps ... works good, try it
First time i did it, i just pushed them in with bigger screwdriver, 2nd time i took airbox apart completely so i could reach in and do it. think it was easier, but still a pain in the ass. 02 sxviper 700 triple.
Great list. I would add one more thing. Flush the brake fluid and make sure the caliper is working properly. We had a 97 summit 670 that had sat for 10 years, did all the normal stuff before taking it out, turns out the brake fluid had gotten moisture in it, and rusted part the caliper just enough to drag on the rotor. Heated up the rotor hot enough to melt a hole in the oil bottle, 2 stroke oil + a hot rotor= fire. Almost lost the whole sled, luckily got the whole thing encased in snow to suffocate the fire just in time for it to be still salvageable.
Sweet old Polaris triple you've got there!
Great extra trip! Wild story too but makes total sense. Glad you could save the sled!
Should repair the seat.
It’s a nice sled, should be cleaned
It’ll look like new.
Love the triple 800
She sure would look clean then!
I love the sound of a triple
Me too
@@FeederCountry do you like polaris edge x 600 from 2001?
@@tobiasholst8946 I never rode one. But I do race my 2003 edge xc 700 and I love that machine.
@@FeederCountry ok
@@tobiasholst8946 there are some videos of that sled on my channel
At 30 seconds, pretty common on a Polaris opening the hood constantly! Sorry, couldn't resist as a Cat man. But it is still a nice sled!!
She sure was a fun sled while it lasted.
Seen many many triples blow up even Polaris went to big twins now. 1 video needed starter fluid? Hopefully you found the problem
Ugh that triple 😍
🤙
mint sled
When you referenced your laptop is that an owners manual?
Mag side should be the richest of the three carbs
For example
Mag 430
Ctr 410
Pto 410
Boom boom boom. Easy bud it's no V-12. Good video.
Did you check the center to center on the clutches?
I did but I have yet to find a sled that has the clutch center to center not in spec.
Wish I kept my xcr 600 sp.
Oil lines line up at wide open???
Quick question, how to you sync your carbs? Do you do it by hand or do you use carb sync gauges?
I have some mercury tube type thing, works with vacuum works great, up to 4 carbs. My buddy has one you just hold against the carb, then read the number's and make them match...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
On these older carbs I look up the spec in the book. I then use a right sized drill bit under the slide.
