Its crazy how so many people in these slums want the entire area to not be redeveloped 💀🙏🏽
Evading Taxes by living in encroached lands is more economically beneficial than living funded luxorious 2BHK Apartments and paying all the taxes.
@@syworld5827 they don't actually have any papers for their identity.. if the area gets redeveloped they will have to move out
Black money , drugs, extortion, cheap housing , no taxation . Why would you want to move out ?
@@syworld5827 lol 😂 you all people are just guessing only .. 😂 i have 2 houses in mumbai slums .. & i knw the reason why these people don't want to move in flats .. actually flat what you'll get in redevelopment are tiny ones compared to these jhuggis .. plus these people grew up in a chatoic environment and they don't want to live in peace .. right now every house in jhuggi is two story rooms means you can get 10k + rent from that .. but in flats ..noone will pay more than 7k 😂 bcoz locality is bad .. 😂
@@riav.T so nalasopara isn't the crime , drug , illegal immigrant hub of Mumbai? And how do you know flat size will be smaller than an average jhuggi without water, electricity or drainage system?
There was resistance even when singapore did slum rehabilitation. Now the entire planet is in awe of singapore's miracle. In a country of 1.5bn people not everyone will agree to everything even if it's for their benefit. If we start listening to each and every person, nothing will ever get done.
Democracy seems like a challenge Ayy

Slums should be redeveloped ....no ifs or buts.....hope Adani would do it successfully.
I trust Adani he's capable of it

That is the main problem with becoming a bhakth!!-- First you base your bhakti irrationally, then you fear for it irrationally, and then you fight passionately against your own fellow citizens!!
Everybody had hoped that Modi was not corrupt... but he is very very corrupt!!!
The Modi-Adani alliance is also very corrupt!!!
This is the most likely truth!!!
Now live with it!!!! Jai Hind!!!
Firstly, Local authorities should be strict on illegal occupation of land. Mumbai already has less land, hopefully Shinde and Fadnavis can pull this Mega project off.
First, why there are slums in Mumbai.
@@Rit799In Mumbai apartments are expensive either be a basic type apartment and of course the luxury ones are highly expensive so people are forced to live in slums because the land prices are too fricking high especially the migrants are mostly forced to live in such places
@@rishabh798 Then how is that a problem caused by the workers living there? The poor workers are constantly being bashed as if they don't want to live in an apartment building.
Shinde and fadnavis both are scam
Fun fact is that the people in that slum also don't want redevelopment....
For them the slum is a memory an emotion😆

nice to hear slums getting redeveloped. I do feel very likely and sympathatic to the residents living in the slum who are going to live in a social housing provided by the govt. this situation totaly resembles that of Korea back in 1970s until now in some regions of Seoul. Seoul is also a full of old cities and slums with old and tearing rental housings and old small business running behind. Poverty and wealth gaps are as huge as Hongkongers.

These foreigners make fun of India due to dharavi and when India is trying to get rid of it they are now worry not because of that where these people will go instead they feel that now after redevelopment how will they able to portray India as a country of Slum
Dharavi must be developed
If he provide all infra and housing facilities for these people it's going to be win-win but that need $2 billion not $620 million
It would need 500 million if all those illegal immigrants are removed.
Lots of illegal immigrants and potential terrorist lives there.
such a big problem about the optics of India always being shown in foreign documentaries as a place where everyone lives in slums is being solved and the bloomberg team only focuses on the problems like c'mon if they're giving them homes they would pretty obviously give them some space for the factories also its such a big area everything can be accomodated easily !
Bro there are 1 million people
@berry yeah
Indians are weird. Instead of focusing on improving the people's lives. They do care about the world's view towards them instead of facing the reality.

And on that, because of the vote Bank politics this politician don't even take serious actions on them,we are hearing dharavi redevelopment from year 2000

Bloody dirty vote bank politics
Dharavi has became foreign media favorite spot in India when they gives news about India in background they run dharavi footage
The slum is a business ecosystem in itself.
Its obvious many people would have to leave the area and some artisans may have to shut their shops but it will be better if the area gets redeveloped into massive skyscrapers for most of the people to live in.
"Mumbai always believed it will be the next Shanghai, but unfortunately it remained only Slumbai" made me chuckle a bit. 😂
The revitalization of Shanghai the Govt gave people two choices: 1) Cold hard cash, or 2) move people to the outskirts of town in a new apartment complex.
Hope the slum dwellers of Mumbai will be properly compensated.
why don't you look at slums in USA world's richest country with poverty this slum had a GDP of 2B+ $
The dewellers aren't even the real owner of the houses where they live. They just encroached land and built a hut.
Slum dwellers pay underworld Don's from Dubai and Pakistan to capture land.
Don't worry you ximping going to Fu*** china back to 1950 😂😂😂😂
The Shanghai gov measures sure left a lot of people sore and deprived. but in percentage and ratios that would be really less. It is a hard thing to reconcile for me as a true left-leaning ideologist because I don't want to see anyone left behind but what China did has worked in the long run. There will be lots of losers in Dharavi if Adnanai pushes through but the majority will have decent houses and over a period of 10 years it should be win-win for about 90% of them.
Therefore I conclude
1. (Less Margin on product / cheap rent) is far superior to( life standard of people /image of city& country .)
2. I wonder what will happen to slum tourism industry .
3. How will India will be shown in Hollywood movies without dharavi slum
Hungry people, poor people 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Slums should be removed but the people living there should be shifted to new flats so before the removing of slums new flats should be made for them n start removing slums

While we are talking about redevelopment and all which is not in the interest of the people, but still there is approval for such project. But why cant there be a simple rule in India. No throwing waste or spitting paan on roads. The police's salary could get tripled and the force can be seperated into two different departments. One for handling complaints of crimes and thefts and the other distributed across each and every street in the city and the public transport ensuring people dont throw waste.
For the lack of dustbins, every street light pole (which is every 10m) can be fitted with a medium sized AI dustbin which when a button is pressed automatically dispenses the waste in a garbage bag.
India has 1.4 billion people and people can be hired to take care of one street specifically where their job only is to monitor the dustbins in that street, press a button, carry the sealed garbage bag and put it in an already exisiting main dustbin at the end of every street, which would then be carried by the garbage truck early morning at 3 am everyday and so no traffic problems because of the garbage truck.
Very simple process instantly improving our countries' rivers, drainage, hygiene, overall environment. And it doesnt cost as much.
But first we need to remove mulla from dharavi
Where would all the collected garbage be taken finally? Landfills are overflowing?
Slum happens when civic bodies are sleeping.
In delhi most of the government land n parks are being encroached upon.

You think he will redevelop dharavi and give back to those people , my answer is no because how much cost you have to pay rent in Mumbai is more than other cities and people of dharavi will suffer if they give their land to him he will eat your land tell you to go to other place
It’s not their land it’s railways land they encroached it and after that also government is providing flats to those who are living since 2000.
that's not how things work you dumb head .. 😂

No businessman giveup even one rupee without any profit?
This slum is in the centre of city, reality is land value is increased so corporates are coming into are playing a card redevelopment
No devlopment and growth possible with brains or money alone working and service Class are most important. So if we are interested in looking after their lives we have to think beyond business profitibilities. Political and business interests takes priority never welfare. Social worker are powerless and no one cares/bothers /listen.

What a lazy reporting. According to the report Adani was not born a Billionaire yet he owned a diamond trader. Where did he get the money? Am I missing something here?
They had a textile shop
He later started a diamond trading firm, he did not own them but acted as intermediary for selling
Background music very depressing 😕 😞

It’s clearly impossible without outside investors putting up money.
I don't think he has intrest in improving the lives of people's in dharavi he is a business man and more important thing friend of prime minister that's why he got the contract, he's company also got a contract of electricity meters in UP state they outsourced meters and sold to government over double the price these contracts is just government helping him to build his fortune

First of all, people in the slums need to be educated about paying taxes and stop romanticizing the slum life. I bet there are alot of illegal immigrants too, they also need to be sent back.
