I know I'm going to get a lot of comments about 75th and 73rd place specifically, so I'm going to leave some food for thought to those who might find those placements questionable. As I said in the description, Mario Party 9 set a pretty high bar for minigames, and the only "bad" games I would consider would be games in the Bottom 10 placements. When I do my initial ranking drafts for these minigame lists, I put all of the games into very general categories, categories like "Great" "Good" "Ok" "Meh" and "Bad" Easily around 60 of the minigames (75%) fell into the "Good" and "Ok" categories, while and handful of the others were worse and the rest were better, so games that I don't easily gravitate towards or find more difficult to play were more likely to get a much worse rank than probably what the rank implies. That's the difficulty about ranking videos like these, especially the more "items" the list contains, because ultimately, something has to get last place, and anything around last place will look as if it's just as bad, when reality, it could just be just the lowest ranked "good" tier, so please remember that when leaving comments.
Yeah it was the first game I played and I have a softspot for it. People are just too nostalgic for the original games and gave this game too much flack.
@@MarioMasterProductions Yeah that's why everyone hate the car mechanic and the broads in Mario Party 9 the minigames are good. If you are planning not or buy this game then don't buy it, i like the older mario party like 1-8 is alot better then 9 and 10.

Ties while rare can happen but I forget what happens then. I say usually because in the various anime series there are some arenas and/or tournaments with different layouts, gimmicks and/or win conditions like this minigame, but that's the basic gist of it.
Other than the fact that you ironically have one of my Top 5 favorite minigames in your Bottom 10 (Pizza Me Mario, though admittedly I may only love it because I'm just a sucker for pizza stuff in general LOL), this is definitely your ranking list I think I agree most with to date. And I'm so glad you have the same pick for the best minigame of the game as I do! (won't spoil it for those who haven't yet watched the video). It really is a shame MP9 had to abandon the classic gameplay style in favor of the dumb car. It really does have some truly amazing minigames, and I'll always stand by my personal opinion that had MP9 just been a normal Mario Party without any bullshit attached to it, it easily would've been one of the best games in the entire series and one that would be looked back on a lot more fondly. Even though I don't like the game overall and consider it the start of the period when MP sort of entered a "dark era", I will still have a certain amount of appreciation for it for it taking a big risk and trying to be original, even if that risk ultimately didn't pay out too well and they ended up repeating the same mistakes in the next installment anyway and made an even worse experience (spoiler alert there I guess LOL). Anyway, tangent aside, thanks for another great ranking video Slim! Skyjinks is a hybrid of Platform Peril and Lift Leapers. I am not surprised that Bowser Jr. Breakdown is at the very bottom of the list. Also I am completely surprised that Ruins Rumble isn't lower towards the bottom of the list because of considering your hatred playing as the single player during your recording of that minigame.
Slim I highly respect your opinions on this ranking video. That being said Tuber Tug is one of my favorites and Ballistic Beach is one of my least favorites.
No idea HOW I missed this, maybe it got lost in my subscribed videos list, I only now realized this exists after seeing the MP10 one, and going "Wait, when was 9?"
Skyjinks used to be my favorite too (when I was 12 or so), but nowadays I see the ending of that game is a BIG problem. The fact that it's pretty much luck based who wins if everyone just hugs the right side of the screen is terrible and made this one of my least favorite to play
I really do respect your opinions fully Slim, but I don’t think all luck-based minigames are lazy and bad. Manor of Escape is my second favorite minigame in Mario Party, and I do disagree with how high you ranked Ballistic Beach and Mob Sleds, I never liked those two minigames. And I do think you scored Bowser’s Block Battle a little too low, but that’s just me. I would say overall though, I agree with some of the other minigame placements on this list. King Boo’s Puzzle Attack, Skyjinks, and Peak Precision are some of my favorite minigames in Mario Party 9. The ones you scored very low deserve to be scored low, Bowser Jr. Breakdown can go to Hell, and Whomp Stomp and Bombard King Bob-Omb are awful boss battles too. And while I don’t mind Bomb Barge too much, it’s still not a very good minigame.

I think he should return, he's great.
He should definitely return. Kamek has such a prominent role in the Yoshi's Island games which are pretty much prequels to the "present-day" games.

Pit or Platter was my least favorite minigame of all time, I just couldn't get used to the controls.
5:27 not sure if people know this but I believe if you somehow make it through all 10 doors, you cleared the minigame and will automatically win.

I agree with you that luck games are kinda the worst. I honestly think goomba bowling is higher than 70s.
The Thwomp and Manor Escape is one of my favorites.
