  • 4 great new young birds added to my pigeon loft. The Notts South Road Fed liberate from Salisbury for a roughly 150 mile pigeon race so I spend the morning with Charlie from my pigeon club to watch his birds come back.

    I'm jealous.. I'm 41 and had pigeons in my teenage years into my early twenties than life took over. I'll always have a passion for it and a desire to 1 day have my own racing team again.
    Well done for doing your thing, wish you all the best

    Try lifting the feathers by the neck so you can see the skin … Keep it up 😀

    Does Charlie have an aviary? His loft seems very unique. His birds drop right in. It's nice.

    Great looking yb, s, cant beat getting new blood to play with, but you really should work on a small section for quarantine purposes, it really isn't worth the risks, as time goes on you will either create one family of birds from the mix you have, or like i did will decide to purchase a quality pair for stock and create a family from them

      I definitely need a quarantine section or separate little loft. It's something I'll do at the end of the year as I'm hoping to add another loft as soon as I can find the space

    Hi mate , to make it easier you can hold the bird so tail up in air and put drops on brest as it needs to have contact with skin., ps love the videos 👌

    Great video... I'm making a start on a loft and will get half a dozen pidgeons to start off as a hobby. I have a couple of feral pidgeons that keep visiting my garden should I be worried or are they ok to be around?

    • @howtotrainyourpigeon
      @howtotrainyourpigeon  2 года назад

      If you live in a city I imagine you'll get them all the time. Mine seem to bring back stragglers ever now and then but they're all rung racing pigeons. I wouldn't worry about the ferals, but try not to feed them or let them share water with your own birds. They'll have worms and other parasites for sure

      @@howtotrainyourpigeon not even got a loft up yet but these ferals are around all the time. Also 5 or 6 wood pidgeons as I live in a village near alot of trees and fields. I'll see how things go once I get some birds... Enjoying watching your uploads and getting some good info as I'm a complete novice!
