  • This is Drama! The pigeons have a 266 mile race. 80 miles of sea before reaching England then another 180+ miles to travel for the second race of the day which ends with a dramatic finish. The first is from Newbury at 127 miles.
    *Correction* UPDATE: If the bird had clocked in straight away it would have been 2nd, not 1st. I calculated it myself before we got the results and overestimated the distance by a 2 miles.

    So frustrating when you know you have a amazing time and the bird just sits with no interest in going in. Great video, I just subscribed.

    Hi mate great video that last bird was being a right little bugger as the old one's would put politely roll on when we get to see your birds turning back up from races 👍

      It was so far ahead but just fell out the placings after refusing to go in for so long. Felt bad for Charlie but that's pigeon sport. Happens to everyone at some point I'm sure

    Really enjoying your videos , that bird was extreme , but you always get one in every team who just won’t come in on a race day but 7mins you really have to feel for the guys . Regards Richy (Ali Bros ) South Shields

    i am surprised Charley did not stand back and let it go in that bird did not want to see him he was the man that put it in the basket to be sent away u learn over time that u cant rush in that situation ..

    We will never truly understand racing pigeons … you can ask the question what did the pigeon gain from staying out,? Food and water inside the loft and his box . After 7 minutes he decides to fly in .

    • @howtotrainyourpigeon
      @howtotrainyourpigeon  2 года назад

      Definitely. Apparently she started doing it every time ever since she came in second place on a club race. Annoying habit but too fast a bird to dismiss.

      @Triple Point I'm sure he's got a plan. I don't make suggestions to him though, he's been racing twice as long as I've been alive 😁

    LIFE OF A FANCIER... GIVES U MIXED EMOTIONS AT ONCE....LETS HOPE HE DOES BETTER NEXT RACE... THINK THEY SOMETIMES PUSH TOO HARD AND WHEN THEY HOME THEY FEEL LIKE CHILLING ABIT BEFORE ENTERING.

    I'm know that a lot of fanciers old and new use droppers and it might work with the odd bird but for me thay are a wast of time .Thay are moor of a distraction than help but I had to learn that the hard way ,I was new to the sport so I took all the advice I could so yes one bit of advice was you have to have droppers.Wrong especially with the cock birds .I stopped using them and over night I got results .These seasoned flyers were set in their ways I wasn't .A bit like a lottery player using the same number's .Just in case .Thank you for the video and good luck for the future .

    I had a hen that was exactly the same was infuriating!! in the end she only trapped on arrival when she was sitting a week old plus young, she always wanted to be straight in on returning if she was sent while sitting young!

    Hmmm Charlie…. The bird wouldn’t trap…. Don’t let back in the loft for two days… don’t feed it…. It will trap in the next race…

    Why not use the dropper? It .ay follow him in!

    • @howtotrainyourpigeon
      @howtotrainyourpigeon  2 года назад

      He did twice. Once right at the start and again later when he went back in to catch one (that's how he cut himself).

    He done well not to get the air gun out! I know an old boy who never won anything until one day a bird came early from a channel race but landed on the neighbours roof, he couldn’t get it in so he shot it off the roof just to clock it in!!! He said the bloody thing rolled down the roof but got stuck in the gutter so he couldn’t clock it anyway 😂😂😂

    Do they do long distances races or this from Jersey is the longest

    • @howtotrainyourpigeon
      @howtotrainyourpigeon  Год назад

      They should do longer distances this year. There were issues with racing from France so Jersey was the limit. Alternatively fly north road, Lerwick is the furthest but apparently very hard.
