  • A fun experiment where I theorise on what the 60th Anniversary might have been like if it starred Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant, instead of David Tennant and Catherine Tate.

    Colin baker's Doctor was the only one to fix the cloaking device on the tardis! He was awesome and I liked his outfit it was bright and cheerful and very 80's

    Quite a good little idea there. How about one where Paul McGann becomes the 14th Doctor? We could see him reunite with Charlie some time after the 6th Doctor leaves her or something? Anyways, there would be an immediate comment about the hair being different, and 8/14 replies "I got it cut after a while." Yeah, this is my way of writing out the wig. The head of Paul would reflect the latter years of the 8th Doctor, while the clothes would most certainly be Edwardian.
    Side note: I would absolutely love for the intro sequence to have the David Arnold theme or a redux of it.

    Y'know, I'd love to see this, and if I were to rewind time a bit, I'd actually change it so that the doctor is currently changing into past regeneration, instead of just David Tennent, and with each regeneration, a flash of Ncuti would appear, as if he's trying to reach out, and then being flashed out by a new doctor, it may be difficult and very unlikely, but I'd like this more as this would allow for previous Doctor actors to play the role one more time

    Hey there MrDoctorGilmore! 🙂👍An idea I would love to have seen is Colin Baker returning as the Sixth Doctor himself instead of Fourteen, where we see Jodie Whittaker's Thirteen explosively degenerate into Six on the clifftop. He says "This body feels familiar." before looking down at his clothes to see the polka dot cravat, question mark collar, cat badge, yellow/black trousers and colourful coat as well! He then remarks with a concerned look "Something's wrong. Something's very wrong." before rubbing his hands through the thick blonde curls and fully realises what has happened, "Oh no!" I would use expensive digital de-aging technology on Baker to make him look the same as he originally was back in the 1980s, because with Doctor Who's budget now being way higher due to Disney+ and Sony, it is possible to do it. The 1986 "Trial of a Time Lord" opening and closing titles would also be used for the 60th anniversary specials, as well as Nicola Bryant obviously making a return alongside Baker as Peri, because who better right? The multi-coloured umbrella, sonic lance and late 1980s TARDIS interior would also all make comebacks to really showcase this great era which was so wrongfully looked down upon. The Wrarth Warriors and Beep the Meep are still in it, but I would replace Neil Patrick Harris' Toymaker with the Rani, but she of course needs to be portrayed by a new actress due to Kate O'Mara's passing. It would soon turn put that the Rani was the culprit behind what went wrong with the change, as she used her high-tech scientific equipment, skills and knowledge to manipulate the process into degenerating the Doctor. She has unfinished business and a lot of history with this incarnation which is why the Rani specifically chose Six, but as a result has also created a dangerous paradox which could destroy all reality. The longer the Doctor remains in his past form, the bigger that paradox becomes and time runs out before it collapses, so he must find a way to defeat the Rani as well as correct her actions. In the end, this is exactly what he, UNIT and Peri do, before Six shares a heartfelt, friendly, gentle moment with her which really shows you that he wasn't always as uncaring, violent or rude as a lot of people may believe. After saying their goodbyes, this is when Baker, redeemed in the eyes of Doctor Who's fanbase, hopefully, finally hands the mantle over to Ncuti Gatwa's Fourteenth Doctor by regenerating into him which leads into Christmas 2023! Perhaps Big Finish Productions could actually one day come up with an alternate scenario audio adventure based on this, as I am pretty they have done that in the past for other stories so yeah. What do you think about these ideas??? ❤❤➕💎

      better yet at the end of Power Of the Doctor he's wearing the red outfit and with make up and CGI he looks like he's out of the 1980's then in the 60th Special's he looks how he does now and is in the blue suit showing that the 14th Doctor's not been wasted and he has live from 600-850 years

  • @terrycharnley

    That is a great idea, if only. I had nothing against Tennant, but series 2 was very average for me and I had nothing to do with the later series, even though I was pleased for the show getting back to its popularity heights again. But David had his time as the Doctor and Colin Baker was treated so badly, he never got a full fair crack at it and his era is very good, particularly Trial of A Time Lord. Would have been so great to see him back with Peri. There may be audio stories, but I can't deal with audio stories, I need the visuals too. Yes, they should have given Colin the extended reappearance to make it up to him. I didn't get back into Doctor Who until Jodie's era, which for me is the best of the revival. To have her regenerate into Colin (who was actually Jodie's biggest supporter so I have heard), would have been great.

    • @mrdoctorgilmore
      @mrdoctorgilmore  Год назад

      I definitely think the best direction would be to write it in a manner where context for expanded media isn't required, but still acknowledges it a way which isn't alienating, the audience can go straight from Trial of a Time Lord to this.

    I’d actually really like to see this. Six had great potential that was never allowed to grow properly and while I don’t dislike Tennant I’ve always thought the revived series with the possible exception of Eleven’s run, especially the first part of it (pre Bells of Saint John) just didn’t quite hit the spot. Besides, Tennant had his time. Baker never got his properly.

    So in the Toy Maker's deal I'm assuming Peri's age is put to whatever her prime age is 18-30 something and made immortal as in like wolverine healing factor immortal
    and the Doctor well for one's physical age would change from the Colin Baker we have now to the 1983 40 year old 6th Doctor Colin Baker and be given infinite Regeneration's all being the 6th Doctor's body, age and personality
    and the universe would be bent so the Toy Maker can rule but the Doctor is un affected and has infinite adventures forever with Peri
    a deal I think he'll make with 14 and Donna but 10 and 2005's 34 and Donna with her prime 30-35 instead

    well with this comes loads of videos
    David Bradley as the 14th Doctor and Carole Ann Ford
    Tom Baker as the 14th Doctor (through mostly a stun double and CGI and make up not to age him down but to make it look
    like he's moving) and Kate Stewart
    Peter Davison as the 14th Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as a some how aged up revived Adric who's revivle would have to be solved
    Colin Baker you did although I'd have it
    at the end of Power Of the Doctor he's wearing the red outfit and with make up and CGI he looks like he's out of the 1980's then in the 60th Special's he looks how he does now and is in the blue suit showing that the 14th Doctor's not been wasted and he has live from 600-850 years
    Sylvester Mcoy as the 14th Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace
    Paul Mcgann (the preferred) as the 14th Doctor and Sheridan Smith as Lucy Miller or with Grace/Daphne Ashbrook
    Christopher Ecceleston as the 14th Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler
    David and Catherine we're getting
    Matt Smith as the 14th Doctor with Jenna Coleman's Clara or Amy and Rory with Aurther Darvill and Karen Gillian
    Peter Capladi as the 14th Doctor (yes unlikely but) and Pearl Mackie's Bill Potts or Jenna Coleman's Clara
    and hear me out Jodie Whittiker as the 14th Doctor, why well one it would confuse people having her Regenerate into herself but a blue version of her outfit and two Jodie's Doctor but with good writing by Russel and she would be seen as a good Doctor even if it is only for those 3 specials.
    hell she might portray a whole new personality in total so you know it would actually do some good

    NO! Please let's not give them the idea that it's a great idea to have older Doctor actors as new Doctors. It's not a great idea at all. I hate that idea. Sure, bring him back for a mini series of a maxi series for Disney Plus but NO to having Doctor Four as Doctor 16 or Doctor Six as Doctor 17. That's just not good or creative or imaginative.

    No. Firstly Colin is too old and shaky now and secondly he wouldn't bring millions back to the show as Tennant almost certainly will. Big Finish is for hardcore fans who cannot get enough Doctor Who... they probably sell a few hundred, maybe a thousand at best. Tennant is the 14th Doctor... whether you like it or not.

    • @mrdoctorgilmore
      @mrdoctorgilmore  Год назад +1

      Don't worry this was purely a fun hypothetical experiment, I'm not calling for a reshoot 😆. I know this wouldn't realistically happen. Plus as I said in the video, if this story did happen it would be written in a manner which can be enjoyed by the general audience, though throws some subtle in some BF references for a bit of fun. You can rest easy.

    • @blastfromthepast8344

      @@mrdoctorgilmore But having said all that, what would have been utterly mind blowing would have been a de-aged TOM Baker as the 14th Doctor. Sadly, Tom is far too old now and even de-aged I don't think it would have worked. I think we may see de-aged old Doctors later this year...
