Tom Baker and Barry Humphries are two peas in a pod. Same generation, same sense of humour, same cheekiness and irreverence. Love them both. :)
I could listen to Tom all day, I remember meeting him in Oxford st in about 77 he always had time to talk to his fans.

I saw him once at a comic con. Although I didn't meet him I saw the way he was with his fans. Such a gentleman and so patient and charming.
There's just something about the pitch of his voice sometimes that makes me laugh. Delightfully strange and eccentric 😁

That is great. Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor. While I do like every actor who's played the role, Tom Baker comes closest to perfection in the part due to his eccentric qualities. I've never met Tom Baker, though I do have a great personally signed autograph from him which I've treasured for many years.
Met him twice, hilarious, tried to chat up my Mum. Exceptionally polite, exceptionally patient, a true legend.
@@Grandmastergav86 I'm from the United States, so it was much more difficult for me to meet him in person. Glad to know your experience with meeting Tom Baker is first rate and unique. I have something like 25 autographs from him as I've written him since I was a kid in high school!

I wish I could meet Tom Baker I think he’s awesome. Whoever said that he may have aged but his personality is a mortal. They’re absolutely right his personality hasn’t changed and I hope it never does. He’s very comical and he always has a way of making me laugh
Imagine sitting in your home, and your boyfriend or girlfriend accidentally texts to your landline... Not just texts... Sexts. And it would be tom's voice. I think i would have to rip the plug out of the wall and die.

It’s always been my dream to meet somebody as famous as Tom Baker. I would love to talk to him and say thank you for seven years of Doctor Who. That was the best medicine I can get and he was it. He’ll always be Doctor Who in my heart forever. And I’ll always love him for that.
Just as well, given he's been typecast in that role forever. :P
Love Tom Baker, just like Brian Johnson taking over from Bon Scott, when he took over from Pertwee, it was a hard act to follow but he nailed it. Not an easy thing to do but imo just as good as Pertwee as DR WHO. Brilliant.

Was that last clip of Tom from a Boston Sci-fi convention in 1983? Because I was there, and he was dressed exactly like that, and told that same story.
I recall that he would not sign autographs, but did a reception line and shook everyone by the hand. He had very soft hands. And there was I, too self conscious to wear the 18 foot scarf that my grandmother has just made me, but had it rolled up in my arms.
