11:40 I found that jacking the engine up even higher and also lower it while trying to get the two parts of the engine mount made it easier to get them out.

You all are doing too much! Go underneath of it, get the belt off and undo the bottom bolt with the pulley. go up top and unbolt the bolt and take the stud out with the nut. Alternator will pull right out of the top. Non of that extra bs. Done in less than 20 mins

What engine was this @JOATD. Was it the 3.6L or 3.0L?
It's a 3.0L
Was this vehicle an AWD or a FWD? I have heard that this process is slightly different between the two.
It was a front wheel drive
How much typically would with service cost to fix?
Between $425 to about $540

Can a bad alternator cause a crank no start situation?
Yes because the battery will have insufficient volts
No. The alternator itself can not affect starting of the car. The alternator charges the battery when the engine is running. If the car won't start due to a dead battery, the alternator could be a factor, but the dead battery is the reason it's not starting, then the failed alternator can be the reason for the dead battery. But alternators are not responsible for the vehicle starting or not starting, its only job is to charge the battery when the car is running, and assist in supplying axillary power.
Also, the battery does not fail to start because of just insufficient volts, typically its the fact the battery is low on amperes, which does impact the batteries voltage as well, but amperes are what provide the oomph of a battery to spin the starter motor hard and fast enough to turn the flex plate or flywheel in a manual fast enough to start rotation of the motor so the combustion process of the engine can take over
