      I, myself, have been a Broncos fan for a long time and even if they play the Eagles (which doesn't happen that often - only 4 times since 2005) I'll always be rooting for Denver to win- however, whenever the Eagles are playing against anyone else Its nice to see them win.
      I remember this game like it was yesterday. My mom is a Giants fan and during this game she was getting all excited everytime Manning threw a pass for a first down or the Giants got a TD... and it was driving me crazy. I just stormed out of the room and went down into our basement in disbelief as I continued to watch the Eagles get pummeled on our other tv.
      As the score started to inch closer to a tie I kept thinking to myself, "just lose the game and stop teasing me"... Lol
      And the minute he muffed that punt, I thought - "At least jump on it and push the game into OT".... But when Jackson shot out of that "gate" I was flat out blown away... I didn't know what to think.
      I kept on wondering if a flag would show up somewhere but it never happened.

    Watched this instant classic live. 31-10 with about 8 mins left in the game...... Absolutely unbelievable how the Giants blew that lead and that game. The Giants punter I believe was suppose to kick it out of bounds. But instead, kicked it straight to Jackson, and the rest was history. If I remember correctly, it also led to the Eagles sweeping the Giants that year. Too bad the Eagles ended up one and done in the playoffs, losing to the eventual Superbowl champs.

    Brent Celek never got the credit he deserved in the NFL. He was Gronk when Gronk was still banging cheerleaders in high school. He was a crucial part of the Eagles offense and he was never praised like he should have been. He mentored Zach Ertz. That should say something about him.

      Brent Celek was a good tight end, but he was no Gronk. I can tell you're definitely an Eagles' Homer fan for you to say something so ridiculous as that.
      Let's compare careers and you'll see why what you said was so asinine:
      Brent Celek played for 11 seasons and averaged 36 catches for 454 yards and almost 3 TDs a season. His best season came in 2009 with 76 catches for 971 yards and 8 TDs. These are solid numbers, but he never again came anywhere close to matching that season's output for the rest of his career. Also, after 2012 (his 6th year in the league) he never even cracked 50 catches in a season again.
      Rob Gronkowski, on the other hand, has played 11 seasons (and still going) and has averaged 51 catches, 771 yards, and almost 8 TDs per year. That's 15 catches, 316 yards, and 5 TDs more per year than Celek. What's more, Gronk put up four 1,000+ yard seasons and five double digit TD seasons, so he was able to replicate his success, unlike your boy Celek.
      Bottom line: Gronk is closer to Tony Gonzalez or Antonio Gates than he is Brent Celek. If I had to grade them, Gronk would be an A+ player, while Celek would be a B. To be clear, I'm not saying Celek was bad, far from it in fact. I'm simply saying he was never on Gronk's level. There's no shame in that either, as not many are.
      Note: This is coming from a Lions' fan, so you can't chalk my comments up to homer bias. I have no reason to hate the Eagles or Celek or favor Gronk or the Patriots/Bucs.

    • @thomasdaniels6824
      @thomasdaniels6824 3 года назад +1

      @@james_ford86 You took his comment out of context my man. I think what he was saying is that Brent had the presence that Gronk has while in his prime, not that he was as good as gronk. The defensive ends that lined up against Brent would probably say he was very strong off the line and hard to cover.

    • @james_ford86
      @james_ford86 3 года назад

      @@thomasdaniels6824 Well, yeah. I never said Brent Celek wasn't a good tight end. He was very good, and definitely top 15 in the league in his prime. But he didn't have the "presence" of a guy like Gronk, Gonzalez, Gates, or even Witten. Those guys were the kinds of TEs that gave Defensive Coordinators fits/nightmares. You knew, when drawing up a defensive gameplan, that you had to account for them on every snap, and probably double cover them most of the game.
      Brent Celek never demanded that sort of attention from DCs, nor did he give them fits/nightmares. DCs went into games against the Eagles more worried about Brian Westbrook, LeSean McCoy, Terrell Owens, or Donovan McNabb than Celek. I also feel that, if the Eagles hadn't had such good players around to take up much of the opposing defenses' attention, he would not have been as productive as he was.
      Celek wasn't the kind of TE who could dominate in a vacuum like Gonk, Gates, Gonzalez, or even Witten (albeit, to a lesser degree that the other three I listed) could. Celek needed star players around to take some of the defensive attention away from him so he could be matched up one-on-one with a LB or SS. This isn't anything the be ashamed of, mind you, as not many players have the presence of Gronk, Gonzalez, Gates, or Witten.

    I played football my whole life. Not in college, but lettered as a sophomore, junior, and senior. And I know the emotional attachment to every play I was in the field, and I know guys that love football have the same attachment. There is something special in the heart of a man who is willing to sacrifice his season, perhaps his football career, on a single solitary play, that will win a game for his team. The block to spring Jackson could have easily paralyzed him, but it was worth it to him to win the game. There’s a honor in that that non athletes mock, that we in the know dismiss their mockery, and maintain our honor.
