The room shook. Being an Eagles fan has its ups and downs, but damn that was a good game!
Not an eagles or giants fan. But this is the type of game that made me truly understand how much I love football. For some strange reason, I watched the entirety of this game even when the eagles were down huge. And that made seeing the comeback so much better
Watched this instant classic live. 31-10 with about 8 mins left in the game...... Absolutely unbelievable how the Giants blew that lead and that game. The Giants punter I believe was suppose to kick it out of bounds. But instead, kicked it straight to Jackson, and the rest was history. If I remember correctly, it also led to the Eagles sweeping the Giants that year. Too bad the Eagles ended up one and done in the playoffs, losing to the eventual Superbowl champs.
The Eagles did sweep the Giants that season. The Eagles lost to the Saints in the playoffs that year. I think the Packers beat the Seahawks in the first round and then Falcons and Bears to get to the Super Bowl.
I’ve been an eagles fan since 1991 and even though we go through mostly bad times, it’s good times like this where we can rejoice and celebrate. I remember after DeSean Jackson returned that punt for a touchdown, me and my friends all broke out in tears and hugged each other. That was the second best day of being an eagles fan other than Super Bowl 52. Fly 🦅 Fly baby!!!
Brent Celek never got the credit he deserved in the NFL. He was Gronk when Gronk was still banging cheerleaders in high school. He was a crucial part of the Eagles offense and he was never praised like he should have been. He mentored Zach Ertz. That should say something about him.
Brent Celek was a good tight end, but he was no Gronk. I can tell you're definitely an Eagles' Homer fan for you to say something so ridiculous as that. Let's compare careers and you'll see why what you said was so asinine: Brent Celek played for 11 seasons and averaged 36 catches for 454 yards and almost 3 TDs a season. His best season came in 2009 with 76 catches for 971 yards and 8 TDs. These are solid numbers, but he never again came anywhere close to matching that season's output for the rest of his career. Also, after 2012 (his 6th year in the league) he never even cracked 50 catches in a season again. Rob Gronkowski, on the other hand, has played 11 seasons (and still going) and has averaged 51 catches, 771 yards, and almost 8 TDs per year. That's 15 catches, 316 yards, and 5 TDs more per year than Celek. What's more, Gronk put up four 1,000+ yard seasons and five double digit TD seasons, so he was able to replicate his success, unlike your boy Celek. Bottom line: Gronk is closer to Tony Gonzalez or Antonio Gates than he is Brent Celek. If I had to grade them, Gronk would be an A+ player, while Celek would be a B. To be clear, I'm not saying Celek was bad, far from it in fact. I'm simply saying he was never on Gronk's level. There's no shame in that either, as not many are. Note: This is coming from a Lions' fan, so you can't chalk my comments up to homer bias. I have no reason to hate the Eagles or Celek or favor Gronk or the Patriots/Bucs.
@@james_ford86 You took his comment out of context my man. I think what he was saying is that Brent had the presence that Gronk has while in his prime, not that he was as good as gronk. The defensive ends that lined up against Brent would probably say he was very strong off the line and hard to cover.
@@thomasdaniels6824 Well, yeah. I never said Brent Celek wasn't a good tight end. He was very good, and definitely top 15 in the league in his prime. But he didn't have the "presence" of a guy like Gronk, Gonzalez, Gates, or even Witten. Those guys were the kinds of TEs that gave Defensive Coordinators fits/nightmares. You knew, when drawing up a defensive gameplan, that you had to account for them on every snap, and probably double cover them most of the game. Brent Celek never demanded that sort of attention from DCs, nor did he give them fits/nightmares. DCs went into games against the Eagles more worried about Brian Westbrook, LeSean McCoy, Terrell Owens, or Donovan McNabb than Celek. I also feel that, if the Eagles hadn't had such good players around to take up much of the opposing defenses' attention, he would not have been as productive as he was. Celek wasn't the kind of TE who could dominate in a vacuum like Gonk, Gates, Gonzalez, or even Witten (albeit, to a lesser degree that the other three I listed) could. Celek needed star players around to take some of the defensive attention away from him so he could be matched up one-on-one with a LB or SS. This isn't anything the be ashamed of, mind you, as not many players have the presence of Gronk, Gonzalez, Gates, or Witten.
As a pats fan Brent Celek & Tony G was always my fav Tight Ends until gronk blessed us but over all BC was just so gritty complete tight end could do it all unlike Kelce he couldn’t block for his Mother’s life
I played football my whole life. Not in college, but lettered as a sophomore, junior, and senior. And I know the emotional attachment to every play I was in the field, and I know guys that love football have the same attachment. There is something special in the heart of a man who is willing to sacrifice his season, perhaps his football career, on a single solitary play, that will win a game for his team. The block to spring Jackson could have easily paralyzed him, but it was worth it to him to win the game. There’s a honor in that that non athletes mock, that we in the know dismiss their mockery, and maintain our honor.
i remember my dad went literally crazy after witnessing this collapse. He couldn't even enjoy them winning the super bowl the next year because he was in an insane asylum.

Im watching this game across the street at my boy's (a weasel philly-born Cowboys fan) house and at 31-10 with just under 8 minutes left in the game I storm out of his house furious and go home. Cut to 20 minutes later (2-3 minutes of game time but 20 mins of actual time) he comes running into my house "YO YOU GOTTA COME BACK, THE EAGLES ARE MAKING A COME BACK"... I tell him to stfu because hes a troll and I think hes busting my balls. Hes like "NO BRO I SWEAR TO GOD COME LOOK", so I go back just before Vick makes the game tying drive. The rest is history.

The 4th Quarter that with live forever in history. I watched it live, and it was unreal. Whatever else Michael Vick may have been, it's undeniable that he was one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game.
Idk man i think the MNF game was definitely a great game by Vick, but in this game his back was against the wall, he was in a division game AT new york, and we were down 10-31, the MNF game statically , I get you he went off on a sorry ass defense, but the shift of this game was unbelievable and he was unstoppable in the 4 quarter this game.

Even as a Giants fan I'll say this was Vick's signature game. When he really put it all together-- both the pocket passing he'd gotten better at in Philly and the speed and mobility. Erasing a 21 point lead in 8 min is a testament to how much of a dynamic weapon Vick was and how great he could be when he really focused his talents and abilities and put it all together.

Remarkable. I had so much fun watching this game. Michael Vick was so exciting to watch. I was a big fan of his.
This still makes me roll on the floor cackling and the look on Coughlins face is priceless! I thought the squiggly vein on his head would burst!
I still can't believe the Giants didn't see that onside kick coming.
I remember saying "WATCH OUT FOR THE ONSIDE KICK" How come I knew it was coming and they didn't.
I was at this game. I have never seen 60,000 people walk out of a stadium so silently. It was like we were leaving a funeral.
I've never seen the end of this game and I never will. I get sick thinking about it
Zak Cancio you only heard about it? You have actually never seen it? That’s crazy.
The InvictusSamaritan nope I’ve never seen the actual punt return. When the game happened I didn’t have Sunday ticket or anything so I had to check the score online. I remember seeing it was 31-10 and checked an hour or so later and saw the final score and checked the summary and saw how they choked it. The most I’ve seen of the punt return is Jackson muffing it
@@zakcancio3897 your life will never be whole without seeing that punt return
ive rewatched this play so many times, over and over and over again. i guess thats like how i will never watch horns pick in the playoffs
😅😅😅😅😅🦅
I remember sitting in a bar full of Eagles fans. When the Giants punted the room went dead silent, even as it looked like he was gonna go, but when he crossed the goal line everyone broke out at the same exact time like we had rehersed it. The room shook. Being an Eagles fan has its ups and downs, but damn that was a good game!
Not an eagles or giants fan. But this is the type of game that made me truly understand how much I love football. For some strange reason, I watched the entirety of this game even when the eagles were down huge. And that made seeing the comeback so much better
todays the anniversary. i remember watching this. wow what a day and a classic game. this is the most exciting game i've ever watched
The fact that the Steelers wound up losing the Super Bowl to that very same team made it even better in retrospect.
💯
Brent Celek was a good tight end, but he was no Gronk. I can tell you're definitely an Eagles' Homer fan for you to say something so ridiculous as that.
Let's compare careers and you'll see why what you said was so asinine:
Brent Celek played for 11 seasons and averaged 36 catches for 454 yards and almost 3 TDs a season.
As a pats fan Brent Celek & Tony G was always my fav Tight Ends until gronk blessed us but over all BC was just so gritty complete tight end could do it all unlike Kelce he couldn’t block for his Mother’s life
Another NFL classic courtesy of NFL Throwback 🏉🏉🏉🏉
I will forever love the Eagles for this, 2017 and 2018.
Agreed
The next year watching the Giants ruin Aaron Rodgers was awesome!
@@ejacoby And that was one of the last few times the Giants were watchable
TOMASZ KUKLINSKI What do you think...
Wow
Sorry to hear that bud yeah the Eagles have a tendency to drive people crazy both good n bad.
@@PabloHunE Overrated just like Cowboys.
Damm that sux for your dad brother
15:47 you can hear the crowds’ hearts being ripped out right here as Jackson makes his way to the end zone. You love to see it.
I remember watching this game with my step dad. Me and him we're going crazy when D Jax returned that punt for a TD to win the game
One of my favorite games to watch. I sometimes come back to watch this. I’m not even a fan of either of these teams
I was at this game. Such a sweet memory......even though the Eagles proceeded to lose their next three games, one of which was the Wildcard against the Packers. What a waste of a miracle finish. Still love my Eagles, though! :-)
1 of my favorite plays of all time the punt return...along with deion pick 6 against Atlanta in Atlanta
As a Packers fan, this saved their season and helped their Super Bowl run!! I was a senior in high school!! Time flies!!
If the Giants did the job, it would have eliminated the Packers that week and next week's blowout of the Giants would've been moot.
So glad I watched this game as it happened it’s still the single greatest regular season game I’ve ever seen
I'll never forget this game
2021 I’m an Eagles 🦅 fan and I will continue to watch this over & over & over & over 😁
Anytime I mention this game at all, my dad goes berserk 🤣🤣
Im from Philly, and die hard Eagles fan.
12:03 that is the epitome of the Vick experience 😂 what a move
Im a eagles fan and I remember coming home from church and this game was on and it was the 4th qtr already. We were down 31-10 and I was like yea we last this one but I kept watching and DAMMN I can't believe the eagles came back. So glad I got to see this 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Seeing Andy Reid not go for that challenge, just makes me think, what a difference a decade makes. ♥️
The 4th Quarter that with live forever in history. I watched it live, and it was unreal. Whatever else Michael Vick may have been, it's undeniable that he was one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game.
Dont care what anyone says ... (as a philly fan) best game of vicks CAREER. Nuff said.
I actually think the MNF Washington game earlier that season was his best, but this was #2.
Monday Night Massacre was #1
Idk man i think the MNF game was definitely a great game by Vick, but in this game his back was against the wall, he was in a division game AT new york, and we were down 10-31, the MNF game statically , I get you he went off on a sorry ass defense, but the shift of this game was unbelievable and he was unstoppable in the 4 quarter this game.
Nah the monday night Eagles vs Washington was!!!!!
@@davidthomas9650 true true great game as well
I tear up every time I watch this.
“DESEAN JACKSON… GETS A BLOCK…ARE YOU KIDDING”
Could not have been timed better was just looking for this video

@@NFLVault lol this just made my night 😂😂 #FlyEaglesFly #Clutch
I was 3 years old an I remember this moment.
My family was loud
12:03 That duck by Vick was too smoove
I was 6 when this game happened and not really into football yet but my dad was the biggest Eagles fan I knew and I remember hearing him screaming from the basement GO, GO! Holy sh!t! and from that day on I started watching Eagles game every week and fell in love with football
I was at a bar watching this and this giants fan was screaming "Michael wwhhhoooo?", "Michael wwhhoooooo?", the whole game and I was steaming mad cuz Vick wasn't doing nothing. Then my girl was begging me to come home for something and we argued like hell but I came home midway through the 3rd quarter. I hated her for about 5 years and I never got a chance to talk trash to that giants fan😪
Bro I was watching this game live. I’m 26 years old and have watched football since like age 6 , this was literally one of the best football games that I ever sat down and watched. Absolutely astonishing
Man; This is still one of the funniest things ever watching the Giants coach Chase down the Punter 🤣
R.I.P. KillaB. We laughed and hugged and yelled so much...I knew we would win even when it was 31 to 10.. we been bleeding green for too long, just had a feeling ....You were my best friend bro. And I miss you every day. #Birdgang
FLY EAGLES FLY ON THE ROAD TO VICTORY!
Wow...NFL Throwback is secretly an Eagles fan.
Even in the latter years of his career, Vick was so nasty off the dropback and pull. Just sick moves. Faster that there was, I think...
Nope best game of his career was the Monday night game Eagles vs Washington
I was there with my Brother!
I am a Giants fan, he is an Eagles fan. I will never forget the feeling after the DeSean punt return to end it. The stadium was so stunned, we kind of just stared at the field for 10 minutes processing this whole thing. Eagles fans were lighting us up, as they should have been of course! We were talking all kinds of shit all game so it was well deserved. I don’t know why I do it to myself but this isn’t the first time I’ve rewatched these highlights.
Brutal lol.
Top 3 greatest comebacks in nfl history Super Bowl 51, The game in January 93, and this one

Between this and the Viking vs Bills game today was the best comeback games I’ve witnessed
That Eagles dream team was fun to watch
That was the next year. Fucking Vince Young tweeted that and you knew it was doomed after that
What a comeback for Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles!!! My Philadelphia Eagles made a comeback and with Desean Jackson scoring the game winning punt return touchdown was amazing!!! It was a unbelievable game!!! This is something for us Philadelphia Eagles to remember on this moment like this!!! As a Eagles fan I'm happy that we won the game against the New York Giants at metlife stadium!!! It was a good day for Michael Vick as well too!!! I love Michael Vick, he's the best dual threat quaterback in the NFL!!! Let's go Eagles!!! Fly eagles fly!!! I ❤ philly!!! I ❤ #7 Michael Vick!!! Best comeback win ever!!!
COMEBACK STARTS AT 11:04
I remember this game as clear as day. I was just a 10 year old kid. Absolutely bonkers.
0:53 only tipped ball in Eli's entire career that wasn't picked off
Watching this live was insanity ! It happened so fast
This best moment from this game was Eli Manning walking into an empty room minus one straggler for the post game press conference.
My dad loved Yogi Berra. He loved to say “it ain’t over till it’s over”, this game is the quintessential example of that axiom.
4:39 yo wtf was that 😂😂
I will never forget this game!!!!! FLY EAGLES FLY!!!!!!
Still one of the greatest comebacks ever!!!!
I remember seeing this live. Absolutely unreal. One of my fav games ever 🦅
Dodge never played a snap again in the NFL. Like mist punters he would have bounced around several times making a few mil for his career. Instead...
The true blame should have gone to the Giants D for letting Vick go Madden 04 on them.
One of my favorite games from any sport. That was so fun to watch.
We got the last laugh though. Eagles didn't win another game after this and this served as a catalyst for our Super Bowl win the next season.
Plus, you proved that you had the magic touch against the one team that causes nightmares for most of America.
Yessss. This game was amazing!
