For the first time in nearly two years, the Boeing 737 Max took to the skies above the United States, with paying passengers onboard. I was one of those passengers. I recorded the entire flight, in crystal clear 4K, so you too can fly on this historic flight! Join me on American Airlines flight 718 from Miami to New York. The return to service flight, of the Boeing 737 Max!
Awesome !
I am not getting on one for several years
There's an article about this flight in today's WSJ, on page B1. Also, on the first page, there is a photo of the flight in mid-air.
A very scenic approach
@@wallyklw5 nobody cares. Go hide in a hole.
“Yeah let’s record the whole flight, just in case, ya know.”
Just in case ya know.. if the plane crashes
yeah ,that thing
The fact that I was thinking almost the exact same thing is hilarious
Highly doubt recording would do any good
Should have streamed it instead.
@@hodb3906 Was thinking the same thing lol

A scenic approach that I would be nervous about
@@nathanborino4923 why approach. The MCAS issue is for takeoff pitch angle. Once your in cruise your fine
As my nephew commercial pilot says " I value my life as much as you value yours, and if the plane is not 100% safe I don't take it up." Good enough for me
From someone who has poured through the recertification and accident reports and had flown the MAX simulator, your nephew is full of shit.
@@dynasty0019 and u,aka couch potato knows more than him?
How can this plane stay in the air with the massive balls these people have?
I think this is a joke, but the people on the flight booked the flight knowing it would be a max aircraft and trust that it is safe again
Considering what would happen to Boeing if any of these airplanes crashed again. I have no doubt this plane is as safe as a plane could be.
@@hdaviator9181 Yeah, Boeing's reputation is on the line for sure here, more so than it was when the 2nd Max crashed. If another Max crashes due to a hidden flaw, no one will trust them!

Isn't that the truth. Thanks for watching my friend!
The approach is the only nice thing about that airport.
@@benkriegel9452 😭 them short runways I do agree on that
@@sla31 I like you so much! Keep it up! 😀😃
@@benkriegel9452 - yeah, I thought that. It looks like that they've built an airport in a massive scrap yard, but hadn't quite finished clearing all the junk before the airport was opened for business!
As the most scrutinized commercial jet in recent history, I am sure it is now one of the safest. This should be a lesson to Boeing, quality control and designing for safety should always be first priority. The damage to their reputation for event like what happened to the Max is lasting. Good time to buy some BA stock.
@Çeto Çeto It has had the longest and rigorous testing.
Wish 737 max best of luck! Long may she fly!
Did anyone else watch the full 2.5 hour video and pretend you were on the flight as well?
I can't believe how quiet it is.
It's so quiet I almost don't like it. I like hearing the engines, it sounds interesting and tells me the engines work!

A350 is better
@@TysonIke Not a fair comparison since the A350 is a much larger plane, the Airbus equivalent of the 737 MAX is the A320neo!

I give CFM a big applause for the substantially quiet LEAP 1-B
It sounds exactly like the ge90 on the 777

AFTER IT KILLED SO MANY PEOPLE
@@naderpierre6422 It, as in the plane didn't kill anyone. Pilot inexperience however did. You're probably also the kind of person that claim guns kill people.
@@jetmech1495 so you telling me a pilot would intentionally brings down a plane with his life and other people on the line wait let me find you a documentary and watch the full thing wait ok
@@naderpierre6422 Where did I say the pilot crashed intentionally? I didn't say that or even imply it. I said pilot inexperience, as in the pilots did not know how to handle the situations that they were faced with. There are plenty of stories of other airlines that had similar problems with the MAX and due to the flight crews training, it was a non issue. Boeing could have done a much better job with the MCAS system granted, but the responsibility ultimately falls in the pilots hands. Seasoned pilots knew how to handle it. Please stick to video games.
@@naderpierre6422 He never said the pilots crashed it intentionally. However, as it was a new plane to them, they weren't aware of the MCAS and how to switch it off. Also, if it stays on the ground, it could gain a new series of issues, because planes are designed to fly, not sit on the ground for years.
I work at LAS for a contractor...contracted to Air Canada. The day they cancelled all the 737-8 Max planes, OMG! They were cancelling some of our flights for the day and the connections from the other cities. It was pure madness. I know how difficult it was for everyone. I'd rather them be safe than not. It took them close to a couple years to get these planes together, so I'm hoping all will go well. I'm happy to see them back up in the skies.
That legit felt like watching a Flight Simulator video at ultra high graphics settings
this had the best audio to depict how quiet new generation planes have gotten. The usual ambient noises helped than other 737 Max videos
I too, on a business trip to Lake Worth via Miami and TriRail, experienced the 737MAX8 from First Class. Those engines gave a different takeoff, cruise and landing sounds than the 737NG even though the NG uses the CFM56 and the MAX uses LEAP, both manufactured by CFM
True aviation fans onboard... no inane clapping 👏🏻 upon touchdown. Bravo!
they were too busy clenching
Glad to see this puppy back in the air
Woof!
Thanks for the AWESOME video! I couldn't wait for this beautiful aircraft to get back in the skies! I'm glad she's back!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I believe this airplane is safe. Many safety adjustments have been made
its probably the safest airplane in the world right now
Maybe so... maybe it won’t ever crash... but how can you be so sure when you get in. I can I,aging if you stepped into one and read the brochure on the back of the seat that it’s a 737 max you’ll get nervous. So maybe it is the safest plane but you can’t be too sure about it
Brazil, Mexico and now the U.S.
Next up, Canada with AC and WS.
Go MAX go. Welcome back.
And while all the eyes were on the return of the MAX with American, Panama's Copa has kind of snuck in a MAX 9 into service, becoming the 4th operator now to resume MAX flights :)
Landing in LGA is absolutely stunning, especially on the runway shown here
And many people is still scared to get on the max. Honestly I would ride that aircraft.
I agree, during this pandemic. It’s probably not a good idea.
I flew the Max with Southwest from MCO to BDL before grounding of course. No problems flying the MAX or any other type for me.
Capture... I'd say many people ARE scared...
@@johnrogers9481 For sure. I wouldnt fly on it!
2 airplanes of this kind crashed id be scared too.
Bravo!! Every time I fly on a jetliner...I completely trust the science, the crew...and all who safely send her on her way!
So did the people on the two doomed flights a few years ago.
I must admit, Boeing did do a good job on the winglets. I'm doing a paper for school on the effectiveness of different winglet designs and the split-scimitar rank up there for efficiency.
They claim to be a aerodynamically more precise and save fuel. Mentour pilot s pop oke about them on his channel recently. Good luck.
Yes, I would fly on the Max. Very true statement with all the scrutiny of this aircraft it is probably the safest aircraft in the world.
The MAX is beautiful. The tragedies that occurred will never be forgotten, but with the new dual sensors, I think I can trust to ride this delicate bird
My opinion max not save i don't fly boeing max now everything
Very beautiful it’s amazing how you can hear the flaps extending
I love the souns of Boeing 737 series especially when the flaps extended. Man, love the sound of this aircraft!
Smoooooth landing! I didn’t intend to but I fell to sleep while watching this flight like I always do when I actually fly. There’s something sleep inducing about that sound.
You're not the only person to say that. A lot of people comment that they use my videos to them them relax or sleep. Just avoid the ones with crying babies in the background haha. Thanks for watching my friend!
@@sla31 It really is a nice video. Thanks.
Honestly, I think the risk was overblown and exacerbated by the fact that BOTH fatal accidents occurred in countries where pilots have become overly dependent on automation. The airlines should have shared in the blame too for inadequate training.
Ive taken that flight about a hundred times and ive never seen one world trade on approach, really cool.

Going to Miami for the first time on monday(via Southwest Airlines). Cant wait for a little vacation! From what I can tell airports are back to full capacity again
For the people saying “I won’t fly on it”, you are not special and nobody cares.
I agree lmao. They think saying that is going to change anyone else’s opinion
Lol yeah, and they've probably traveled several times on different aircraft that have had multiple hull losses.
MSM especially Seattle times will ply their best to peel the scab off and keep the bleed going on the 737 8 9 10.
They have to do it, it's how they make $$$$$
Takeoff of the 737 MAX is just amazingly quiet. In fact, it even sounds a lot like a CRH Hexiehao and the Fuxinghao bullet trains in motion
Oh hell yes thank you very much for this full flight video. Can't wait to get on the Max in 2021 with Fiji Airways

Of course it looks smooth when mcas is not in use.
That takeoff was beautiful
The whole flight was beautiful from start to finish. We had great weather the whole way. Thanks for watching!
@@sla31 the weather was seriously perfect this is my favourite flight review ever
I absolutely hate when the FA's decide to do their briefing when the engines are starting up. It ruins up the entire experience. I was recently on a GRU-DFW flight on the 787 and they wouldn't shut up even when the plane was rolling for take off. It drove me completely nuts.
What a.besutifuk so quiet plane. Such a smooth glide in touchdown. Glad to see the MAX is back. Hopefully the MAX becomes dominant in the skies. A gorgeous plane. Thanks for sharing this monumental flight.
And thank you for watching! I Appreciate it!
People seem to have forgotten the rudder failures that resulted in a few horrendous crashes on the 737. The Max issue was not really a design fault but rather Boeing not explaining the need to learn about MCAS. The blame squarely falls on Boeing for the deaths.
"The Max issue was not really a design fault"
Seriously? Where've you been the last 2 years? MCAS was MASSIVELY flawed, badly implemented and now radically redesigned in every way.
I flew on the last 737 Max 8 from BDL to MIA. Didn't know it at the time but hours after we landed, they grounded the planes! A couple things, I noticed it took off steeper than normal, but was super smooth and very quiet. I loved it! Of note I take between 50 and 75 flights annually. I'm glad to see them back! I can't wait to fly on one!! Thanks for the vid!!!
The view of City Field was absolutely beautiful.
Hi B, I'm pretty sure that Boeing have and will continue to pay for their past transgressions, but it's still great to see the MAX safely flying again, well done to you for getting on board and sharing the moment! Great views of Manhattan and that was one hell of a tight left turn approach on short final. I looked up the approach for runway 31 at KLGA and it's called the Expressway Visual Approach and it's not something for faint hearted pilots, as there's not much time for them to get the aircraft stable in time for landing. Regards P from lockdown UK :-)
The 31 approach is one for the books for sure! The LGA approaches never disappoint. Thanks for watching my friend! Much appreciated!
If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going!
I love it!
Awesome approach into LGA
That approach into LGA was beautiful ! Seeing the airport only a couple miles to your left like that was amazing.
It was a very cool approach for sure. Thanks for watching my friend!
Man, ya gotta LOVE that approach. And it's great to see the MAX back in the American skies. I just really hope that Boeing got this completely right, this time. If there's another accident with this bird that involves the initial "issues", Boeing is finished, IMO.
You've got that right. I'm confident that Boeing corrected what needed to be fixed. Thanks for watching man!
They can’t afford to screw up again. They got it right this time I’m sure!
Wonderful air craft but it is tuff to beat the dreamliner. Been on four 4000 km flight from Toronto to Vancouver in the last three months all were excellent
I must say pretty stellar approach and you won't see a landing any smother then that great job by who ever was piloting that air craft
Also the Dream liner787

What a gorgeous aircraft, glad she’s back in the sky’s!! I’m thinking about booking a MAX flight sometime.

Such an exciting moment! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Expressway Visual! So beautiful!!
I was on one with American before it was grounded. My native country's carrier, Air Canada, obviously has them now too. I have a house in the Cayman Islands, and they received two Maxes and celebrated it being the first Max in the Carribbean but weeks later they had to ground it. So now there's airport vehicles with the "First 737 Max in the Carribbean" that didn't age well over the past few years.
I almost hate how quiet the plane is. I like hearing the engines, it sounds interesting and tells me the engines work!
@KaisonGames Sorry, my bad. I meant grounded, obviously.
The greatest comeback since MJ
Hello Skylite. Very Impressive. The Grand Central Parkway approach has always been spectacular and landing in LaGuardia is always a treat. Great job on the video. The Max is back. They have tested the balls off of this plane so I have to think that, excluding pilot error, it is the most tested airliner in the world!! Cheers on the video. Look forward to more.

When it comes to flights like these, I try to get them posted as soon as possible. Wouldn't want to keep everyone waiting!
Nice to see the Max back in the air. I find the 737 to be very quiet. I am not a fan of landing this way at LaGuardia. You get the most wind resistance. You did fly over my old neighborhood. Years ago we would bike to the airport and watch the landings, takeoffs.
