This was great! I coached a climbing team for 10+years with kids ranging in age from 8-18. I used to tell them that can’t is just can with a “t” for try. Don’t say you can’t do something, but say that you can try!

I was looking for a little cardio session after my pilates workout, just to move a bit more. I always choose your cardio workouts, because I know I'll get a good one. However, I didn't feel that much into cardio today, but had the wish to move. So I said to myself, just do 10 minutes, better than nothing. After 10 minutes, I said to myself, "ok, you can go until 15 or 20 minutes, then stop, if you've enough." I so wasn't into planks today, so I listened to the wise trainer and modified. I did skater lunges, jumping jacks or high knees instead. In the end, I made it till the end. The best thing is, I felt great. I was proud of myself, that I kept going and modified instead of stopping after 2/3 of the workout. I knew I wouldn't keep going with the plank exercises or I would have pushed trough and hated it as today I didn't feel doing this exercises as my arms were still a bit sore from yesterday's strength session. So, by doing other exercises instead, I felt good and kept going through the whole workout. I felt proud of myself and not worn out. My learning today, there are days were it's good to push yourself through tough things out of your comfort zone and grow by getting better at it. But there are days when I accept that I need to push myself in a different way as the goal of the day was different. So today, for me, it was not about getting better at doing planks but being consistent and moving 30 minutes. Thank you, Chris, for delivering this message!
