At 3am I have very little resistance to a great deal, so when I found out L.M. Bolle was selling fall peony roots, I indulged and bought 80 for my new house! Join me in checking out all the great varieties and what I have learned over the years on the farm with growing peonies.

Perhaps you could sell some of the roots locally and recoup some of your money. They are gorgeous. Maybe some bouquets on a table near the street for sale next spring?

These are going to be amazing.
They really are cracking roots. My neighbour across the road has a Peony in her front garden that has flowers that get so huge they have to be tied up. No idea what variety it is, but it is well admired by the huge amount of people passing by. I love your idea of using Peonies as a hedge, and can't wait to see what this looks like next year.

I have a hedge if peonies beside my long driveway. I have moved them from house to house and even on this property several times. They are so lovely, one of my favorite flowers and I like the foliage too. The only thing I don’t l8ke is the powdery mildew they get later in the summer.
Ants! The only issue I hate is the ants hide in every petal 😊🐜

Oh how I wish that peonies were this price here in Australia. Ive spent around a $1,000 and only have 27 plants :( I have already had a beautiful coral give me her first flower, a gorgeous white, and an absolutely gorgeous white with a very tiny hint of hot pink. Im looking forward to seeing the lovely light lemon one flower and a Sarah bernhaurt

We can't grow peonies here in coastal Southern California, but they sell out as cut flowers when they appear at the local Trader Joes grocery stores. So beautiful!

@@noreenn6976 No, I was moving my peony bed to a new location. Turned out root system were extensive and kept breaking into pieces.

Edulis Superba is one of the most wonderfully scented peonies. Coral Charm is one of just a few peonies that is adventitious, meaning that just a piece of root without crown material or any eyes can sprout eyes and develop into a complete plant. So don’t throw out any root piece that may break off.
Nothing beats the scent of a peony! The Edulis Superba ❤

Love peonies, can't grow them here. Look forward to seeing yours bloom. Labeling, might see if you can get old-school metal labels where you "write" and it shows up as an indented line. Best of luck. You're the best.

Love peonies! I have some beautiful ones now, but they aren't very fragrant. Wish I'd dug up some of my old ones before I moved. They were a drab pink but one blossom would perfume the whole house!

I had over 300 hostas, many daylilies and peonies, not to mention a lot of other things. I used a P-Touch label maker and labels similar to these ones on Amazon. GHAMYEE 30pcs Plant Labels for Outdoor Garden Waterproof Plant Markers for Outdoor Plants. The plant labels I got were aluminum and from a seller in Ontario, not from Amazon. If someone stepped on the markers, there was damage, otherwise they will last FOREVER! Seriously. A lot of my daylilies came with labels like your peonies have. I buried them under the plants, just in case I lost the above ground marker. You could also cut up blinds and use the P-Touch labels on them for underground markers. They will be perfect years from now. I used a wax pencil once and the wax melted off the plastic markers. There was a display garden in the Interior and they used a special paint pen that worked very well too, but it was very hard to find.
Thanks for the video. We have a severe water shortage in our town during the summer. I still have a few peonies planted around the yard that are pretty neglected. I’ll spend tomorrow dividing and replanting, thanks to the inspiration!

How on earth did they get them out of the ground (with a tractor I guess) and chop them into pieces? They are huge.

For permanent marking, use what is called a "paint pen" They are weather and fade proof, used by construction companies.
Please video planting them. I would love to see how you plant them. I orderd 12 peonies roots. Sorbet, top brass, bowl of beauty and bridal bouquet in white pink and magenta. Kind regards Joke from The Netherlands.

I miss old tin tags. They lasted for ever. Yes, I'm that old.
Look up how to store cut peonies for later in the year. You cut them before the bloom opens rap and refrigerate. Also, let me know if you want to sell a few individual plants. 😂

I was also gonna day maybe you can offer to give your extras to your fans ina contest or something. Some of us cant afford to purchase these expensive flowers but for sure not $700 worth lol the economy is rough nowadays id be happy with just 1 or 2. Just a suggestion... much L❤VE from Kentucky!

Plant some of them at the farm. You might want to be more cautious with the income if you’re on your own. Not judging just saying it’s hard on one income these days.

There’s 1000 peonies already at the farm. Why not forego the purchase and just take some from there. Lots to choose from and they do need to be split. However Serena will do Serena and I’m here for it. Ha!
