    FINALLY someone who appreciate the Chromebook for business as much as I do. When I tell clients and colleagues that I ONLY use Chromebook to run the corporation, some laugh and some think it's a joke - but the jokes on them cause we are getting a better more stable computer for less than half the price of your average Mac or PC (which I've used in the past). Great video as always.

      Chromebooks are bad because of their OS, that is a stripped down piece of sh*t. Yes, crostini is a thing, BUT it doesnt support proper chroots and its fuze system is poorly implemented. And the apps that are talked about in the video are pretty useless in real and true circumstances. Mainly due to most (cheaper) Chromebooks dont have enough ram to even hold up 30 tabs (You will be running more if you use it for business). Here is my advice, if you have an intel cpu, install chrx and dual boot PROPER Linux, runs flawlessly and low end gaming isnt even that bad. But, overall, dont get a chromebook for long term, they will wear out, this is due to their hardware limitations.

    • @thebaldconvict
      @thebaldconvict 4 года назад +12

      @@HuskieLunar What on earth are you talking about?
      The OS is bad because cheap Chromebooks don't have the ram for 30 tabs? Well yeah, that's true of any low spec machine running any OS.
      Chromebooks will wear out due to hardware limitations? Say what? Most Chromebooks have no moving parts, which bit wears out faster than any other laptop?

    I wish there was a way to resize apps that are built for phones. For an example, I open up the Best Buy app on my chromebook and it's barely larger than on my phone. I know this is Best Buy's problem, but it would be great if everyone got on board and made the apps fill the screen. Just a gripe, but one would think they would all now realize that Chrome OS is a thing and here to stay.

    Why am I looking at Chromebook videos? Two reasons 1... the children at the school where as retired primary teacher I volunteer two mornings a week use Chromebooks... and 2.. the more pressing reason is that my 2012 vintage HP Pavilion dm1 was underpowered from the start with only 2Gb RAM so I am hoping a rebirth as Chrome machine may significantly speed up its very sluggish performance.

    I am primarily using Chromebook now. I still use Windows 10 and 8.1, 7 ... not so much the latter two, and now I really seldom get on a Windows 7 app. Well, I found that for the research and testing data and yes for photography and designing templates that Chrome Web Store had pretty much what I needed and it was cheaper (most apps ad extensions are free) and the device moves faster. Another huge reason I disliked having Microsoft OS as my central nervous system to investigate, discover, evaluate, and customize ... the material I found --- It's how Microsoft so unilaterally decided to end support for Windows 7 . And yes, I wasn't hugely pleased about XP and Vista being droppped.

    Can you recommend any video editing for my old Pixel 2? Given its i7 and 16g ram, it still works faster than my newer Pixelbook. For my business, I have to run 100's of tabs constantly and my old 2015 can handle it, but the new one just craters... Additionally, I want to edit some video now and just wondering if there are any options available other than biting the bullet and buying a new Mac. (could I run Davinci Resolve with Linux on that old rig maybe??? With an external GPU???) Thanks!
