That's what I was going to say. Because reality is its expensive in New York and you say utilities come with except lights...you can set your lights up on a budget and water isn't that expensive, I don't have gas because my house is total electric...the difference is you'll be out of the hood as you say. Better environment for your kid's. More space and room. Different projects that we can watch you do.I say just do it...move

Jazzy I say go for it! 🏡
    1. You’ve been dreaming of moving to NC
    2. Plenty of space for you both and the children
    3. Cost of living is decent for the amount of house and yard you’ll receive. Plus you’ll have 2 incomes by moving in together, I think the extra cost for utilities will be doable
    4. It’s the summer time and the kids are out of school, perfect time to transition to a new state
    5. Your smile and excitement was EVERYTHING!
We’re rooting for you and will be supporting you every step of the way! 👏🏾❤

I’ve always heard that you should ride by the neighborhood at night as well to get a feel for safety, quietness, etc.
The pricing sounds fair to me for the homes.

Congratulations! The cost of living is less expensive than New York; I’m speaking from experience. I moved to NC in 2015. I sold & closed on my home in New York one week and purchased & closed on my home in NC the following week. I came down to assist my mother; she had her own home. My mother passed away in 2020. Jazzy, look before you leap. Check out other homes until you find the one that speaks to you. Check out the ranch style homes too. Look at homes that you can rent; with option to buy too. As far as the utility bill, mine is separate but under one umbrella. In other words, everything is itemized (water, garbage pickup, heat, air conditioning, etc.) but it is totaled & paid for in one bill. The cost all depends on your usage. I’m blessed to reside in a 4 bdrm. 2.5 bath home with all of the necessary amenities.
May God be with you on your journey!🙏🏾😊

Hi Jazzy! My family moved from NY to the south (Florida) and I don’t regret it. We also started out renting and they required 3 times the monthly rent and a credit score of 650 with good rental history. We are a family of 6 and now we have purchased a home. Look for great schools! Don’t worry about being walking distance to shopping. You’re going to have to drive to shop in the quieter areas. We are a family of six and our water bill is about 150 a month and electric is 200 in the summer for a 2600 square foot home. If you have any other questions or need some more advice, let me know!

Am loving that second house. It's 'gorg'! I wish u guys all the best and I hope that u DO move to NC. Great yard space for the children to run around in. Even renting an apartment, here, ur required to pay first months rent, PLUS, a security deposit. And, sometimes, for some rental companies, the amount of the security deposit may depend on your credit score n rental history.

Moved here almost 6 yrs ago, started out renting a townhouse and been in our own home for about 5 yrs now. My only regret is not doing it sooner. With the growth here in Charlotte, we will eventually move again once our kids are out of school (we are in a great school district in south Charlotte) and hopefully go somewhere else in the Carolina’s that’s a little more rural. We having started to like country living lol. Regardless girl - you got NOTHING to lose. You’re already paying a shit ton of money to live in NY when you can take that same money and improve your quality of life 10 fold. Do ittttt!!!!

Also, everything will be cheaper down there-groceries, gas, activities for the kids, etc. make this move and improve your quality of life. I also think it is wise to rent first. Good decision. Rooting for you!

The second house is a much upgraded home.
Yes, I lived raised in South Carolina all my life it's not much different. Yes we pay for water lights. Now with apartments water is included. That's a good price for both of the homes. You will pay about 1400.00 for an apartment. So yes, that's a good price.

Hey Jazzy this is the first time I have come across your videos and I like your spirit. I am originally from NYC and relocated down to Georgia 4 years ago. I went the route of home ownership because it was always my dream to buy a house and it was my motivation in leaving NY. We know the home prices in NY are crazy. Anywho, I was fortunate to join a Facebook group where I learned about improving my credit and I found out about Navy Federal Credit Union. This "bank" has truly changed my life. They use their own rating system in determining credit worthiness. I was approved for a no money down home loan and was able to buy my home with zero out of pocket money. In fact I walked away with a $2K check at closing. I say all this to say, home ownership is possible for ppl like us. Best of luck to you and your beautiful blended family!

Jazz I’m so proud of you for finally taking the steps to leave New York. You and your babies deserve a home. I was so so excited watching this video that I had people actually thinking I knew you. That first one was nice but I liked the 2nd house because the room allowed for each kid to have their own space without being on top of each other even while sharing a room. Also as for the rent you have to take in to consideration all your bills would be divided by 2 because it’s won’t just be you paying the bills. Either way I still fill like your bills would be cheaper.

Make sure the walls in any house with a basement are not bulging in any way, have the house you decide on to be inspected so as to ensure the wiring, plumbing, air conditioning system, water heater, roof, etc., are safe (it's a separate cost (mine cost $600, but, it took a heck of a lot off the asking price)).

Most places, you will pay all utilities because it prepares you for homeownership. Heck where I live, so apartments have you paying all that separately from rent that's why I decided to stop renting and buy

I live in South Carolina not far from NC, it’s way more affordable than up north. My best friend lives in Binghamton, New York but is moving to North Carolina because she says New York is just too expensive and what you get is just not worth the money. This is your sign to make that move Jazz.🙏🏾

North Carolina Resident Here!!!! Was super excited to see this video! I just wanted to let you know it really depends on the landlord. I rented first before purchasing a house here in NC. I rented a townhouse 3 bedroom 3 bathrooms for $1300 and the water, Sewer was included the only thing they had us pay was the electric bill. So it’s really the landlord’s on what they are asking for…the houses you mention is more than what I’m paying, I bought a house (new construction) $1600 monthly so location of where in NC will make a difference as well. When I rented it was in Raleigh, NC…I’m originally from NJ moving to NC back in 2019, I’m not looking back! You really can get way more for your money vs the North but don’t let these landlords get over!

I like the first house. It is a little more private than the second house. The rent is high but the cost of living is much cheaper. Food is really
high in North Carolina but you will have a better lifestyle. I cannot wait to see you chilling in your home.

Im usually a Silent watcher...But I just felt like I needed to share this with you Ladies. We have 2 Grown Children & 4 Grandbabies. (I'll make this as short as possible...lol) We lived In Michigan our Whole life. My Husband's job gave us the Opportunity to move. We didn't have to. We asked to. We wanted away from the Snow. So we got the ok. Last August we listed our Home & Sold it in 2 days. The Place we wanted to Live in Bowling Green KY....to rent until we find another Home to buy...became available on the exact day we needed to be out of our Home. We Love it here. It feels like a Resort. 😊 Everything just fell into place. That was a Sign to us. It was so hard to leave our Family in Michigan but its only an 8 Hour drive. We usually see them once a Month due to my Husband traveling with his job. I don't mean to ramble on...We've had to learn eachother all over again because it's just the 2 of us. It's like we're dating again. 😉 My point in all of this...We get one life. We didn't want to lay on our deathbed someday thinking...I wish we would've. You two Beautiful Ladies are the foundation of your Family. And from what I see a Strong Foundation. You two can do this if it's truly what you want. There may be challenges but that's what makes us stronger, right. Oh...we also gave our kids everything & donated the rest...lol. A complete start over.
I'm so looking forward to the decision you guys make. Sorry for such a long message & Thank you for taking us along. 💙🙏🤗💙🙏🤗💙

Go for it y'all got it. There was so much love and happiness in that video. It's a new experience and different in the most awesome way. Spread those wings and fly y'all 💯💯💯💯💯

I own in NC, and only have electric and water, and water bills aren’t too high. I pay less for all the bills, including mortgage than the rent for either place, over 3000 sq ft. The places are beautiful and God will place you exactly where you ad your family should be. Happy Moving!❤

Hey Jazzy.. even though your paying all the extras along with the rent. You're getting way more worth your money vs living in NY. Look at how happy the kids are, the back yard, their own rooms. Sometimes it's not all about the $ , I mean it is. However look at how happy your family would be. The safety, the space... In my opinion it's worth it.
Go for it, what do you have to lose ❤

Maybe you could have 2 washer and dryer combos, one on each side. I have a washer dryer combo and it doesn't take as much room. The washer is on the bottom. The washer dryer combos are game changers, in my opinion. PLUS, you could get twice the amount of laundry done. What what!

Don't let the 'additional' costs freak you out. With 2 incomes it should be manageable.
Try it, see how it goes and if you love the area, can afford to work towards ownership.
You just might find ownership is cheaper. You also might learn that a more rural area is more desired and will be cheaper in the long-term.

The first rental, pass on it. Jazzy you will be able to find a nice house 3-4 bedrooms with 2-3 baths in NC for $2200 - $2400 in a middle class neighborhood. I’m so happy for you. I have purchased 3 homes and sold them, I lived in IL, GA, AZ and partly in CA. The second house is a good choice and you will be able to find more with a good realtor virtually as well as in person.
