I'm having the same issue, but I don't have Gamefirst installed. And weirdly, it's just started happening out of nowhere - it was fine a few days ago, and today I can't connect to another server without exactly this happening (including the fact that I load to a weird open green field next to a lake). If I figure it out I'll post an update!
Okay, I don't have that app on my computer, still my dedicated server will disconnect on startup of the game. It worked just fine last week and I did not change anything. Strange enough only this game has the issue, everything else is working just fine. The developer needs to fix this quickly!

I could not for the life of me figure it out and after about a day and a half of messaging useless people on my server provider for the game somebody finally said, i had a guy with the exact issue due to a program called gamefirst. and i went of course i would have that program -Facepalm-
@@C0ldDemon yeah thank I recommend making the name more specific like how to fix valheim to stop disconnecting when when you join it but doesn't when others join for the title I found yours when on a reddit page by chance so I recommend editing the title so more people can benefit from it and so you can get more subscribers thanks again 😃
You've got to be kidding me. Lol i'll report back when my friend comes online to see if I can join his server but I definitely do have Gamefirst running in the background and have had these issues. I think you can just have the program fully closed rather than completely uninstalling it. Cause the program can prove useful otherwise? :p

Glad I got it on game pass on not on steam, would be alot more annoyed if I paid for it and it didn't workb
