      Sorry to add this here, but for some reason, I can't post comments in your videos anymore. The issue is that when I go into the comments section, I can see others comments, but there is no text bar for me to post a comment. I don't have this issue on any of the other channels I follow. Any suggestions or ideas on why?

    "Sword and board doesn't have a lot to do with their bonus action." This is why my favorite fighting style is shield and quarterstaff. Take Polearm Master and Shillelagh to gain the mechanical benefits of duel wielding with the added AC of a shield. Plus, with Shillelagh, you're dealing the damage of the Duel Wielder feat. Goes great on most martials, assuming the 13 Wis isn't too much of an investment to get Shillelagh from a feat or one level dip.

    • @thebitterfig9903
      @thebitterfig9903 Год назад +3

      Worth noting that the Polearm Master bonus action attack still does d4 damage, even with Shillelagh. Per the Sage Advice compendium, the damage of the attack is a function of the feat, and the damage die of the weapon isn’t applicable. Shillelagh still gives you a d8 rather than d6 on your normal attacks and opportunity attacks.
      Quarterstaff and PAM also has great synergies with the Crusher feat. Push someone away, and they have to move back within your reach, which gives you an opportunity attack, and the once-per-turn nature of Crusher lets you push the enemy on their turn, too. Toss in Sentinel, and you’ve pushed someone away and reduced their speed to 0, which might limit them to inferior ranged attacks.

    • @bobbyparker4613
      @bobbyparker4613 Год назад +1

      @thebitterfig9903 Thanks for letting me know, I wasn't aware of the damage of a feat vs damage of a weapon ruling, of course everything is ultimately up to the DM. So if your DM is cool with the bonus action attack receiving the damage boost to a d8, then you're in luck. Remember to have fun and lucky rolls, everyone.

    • @samfish2550
      @samfish2550 9 месяцев назад

      @@thebitterfig9903wouldn't the crusher build have that same synergy with any polearm since the bonus action attack is blunt and has the full 10ft reach of other polearms.... Then again I suppose you could get some extra benefits from bugbear for the natural reach and more blunt attacks but idk if the tighter feat slots and lower damage potential are worth it.

    • @thebitterfig9903
      @thebitterfig9903 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@samfish2550 not necessarily. Crusher can work on any turn, not just your own, so you can swat someone away with an opportunity attack using a Quarterstaff but not a Glaive. The other big difference is that Crusher works on all quarterstaff attacks, but only with the bonus action attack with a different Polearm. Miss with the BA attack, or simply have something else to spend it on, and the knock back doesn't happen.
      So regular Polearms with Crusher aren't useless, but it's less flexible. And those other Polearms combine with GWM. I don't think I'd try to do both, YMMV.

    👏 Bravo good sir 👏
    I particularly enjoy the trick of having turns where you don’t make any attack rolls and get to go more defensive. Also the use of unarmored defense snuck up on me, I literally paused the video and went back at first when you mentioned Con raising your AC.
    Looking forward to the final build in this series

    When you take 6 levels of tempest domain cleric to push enemies 10 ft away when they take lightning damage. So changing your lineage to a lightning dragon would be realy fun plus, you can push one enemy anytime cause there are no limitations except the hight.

    A great build, as always.
    If you're looking for a theme for a later video (and it hasn't been done in the past!) I was thinking about a character concept today: a holy warrior/fanatic who charges into battle butt-naked, their body covered in tattoos to their deity as their faith is their only defense they need.
    I can think of a bunch of different ways it could be approached, but would be interested in your take on the idea!

    I did wanna point out that the storm effects you get only trigger when you initially rage. It is not something you could do as a bonus action on a subsequent turn while raging as much as I wish it did (which would have made it a fair bit more interesting if it did). So it probably won't feel as bad to have a reliable bonus action attack with GWM or PM cause the only time it would interfere is when you enter a rage. But still, this build is interesting despite using a barbarian subclass I very much despise in how it's designed. Good work.

    • @DnD_Daily

      "Your aura has an effect that activates when you enter your rage, and you can activate the effect again on each of your turns as a bonus action."
      Straight from the storm aura ability description.
