Character flaw: always fails in any stealthy situation due to the intense urge to whistle
Stealth is optional for this mission
Current Mission: survive
@@aidenwhite8556 Noble 6 wants to know your location
Unless he's using Message to just let his target hear his whistling.
Helluva intimidation check though
I know jump is the gag, but if you’re looking for a second magical secret, Pass Without Trace would be fitting. Death just kind of shows up when you aren’t looking, you don’t know he’s there unless he wants you to
Then again... it comes whistling making itself quite noticeable
@@federicogarcia9406 Like they said: you don’t know *unless he wants you to.* That’s where the whistle kicks in.
@@neonal18 you get it
@@federicogarcia9406 Thats the intimidation check when the fight kicks off
I would also go with Misty Step. Just teleport right to them and smell their fear.
Wow. Can't believe this guy. Death is so intimidating he has not 1 but 2 charisma scores! And, since Death is unkillable (haven't seen the movie) he doesn't even need a constitution score! Incredible (2:20)
😂
Eh, just call it a Savage Worlds build and nobody will notice.
Just make him a divinity and we got the goods
With Thanatos and El Muerte, we just need Discworld's Death, and Darksiders Death, and we've got a whole party in need of white horses!
DEATH brings his own, Binky exists!
Need help. Not sure how to implement the mechanics for a "Near Vimes Experience"
@@AwesomeWookiee I woud say it's a mixture of curiousity (how he survives this time) and disapointment (he survives) so maybe a save vs paralyze he has to take even if being undead makes you immune to such nonsense ;)
Darksiders death brings his own horse. He even brings a bird!
I love discworld death
too bad he's super depressed, and that one wizard...
Many may think that Tulok make a mistake putting Charisma again instead of Constitution but not at all. Having 26 Charisma is the accurate for this character.
I just realized that he’s made over 500 characters. Including double builds and T&M videos, Tulok has made 556 characters.
What. A. Legend!
This build is so good, it'll beat a tabaxi swashbuckler 8 times out of 9!
And one day, 9.
Does this mean there’s a possibility for a Big Jack Horner build in the future? 30 bucks says that would be an artificer build.
Plot twist:
Jak Horner is a Rogue.
He didn't made all the items he had, he GOT them, either legal or illegal way. I doubt the horns of juvenile unicorns are legal...
A rogue with maxed out strength, that is. You can't wave that Excalibur in Stone as a sledgehammer when you're scrawny, eh~?
Especially Thief rogue, as it ignores class, race etc. restrictions for Magic items.
So where's my 30 bucks?
@@c1ph3r75 did he actually announce he would be making a Jack Horner build?
Nah. Jack's a Rune Knight. Fighter who uses stolen magic tech, with a free enlarge spell to represent the magic snacks.
I’m kinda surprised gloomstalker didn’t make a 3 level appearance. Stalking from the shadows and tracking is kinda what they do, you could go favored foe of humanoids and pick up two weapon fighting I think
I know, right? And what about Way of Shadow monk or Soulknife rogue? Those would've fit waaay better
I imagined that this would implement Rogue for the stealth and melee aspect and Ranger for tracking and Hunter's Mark, but Paladin makes a pretty sick Death. Also Dissonant Whispers is quite literally the Whiste. Another banger of a build.
That and you can dissonant Whispers into an attack of opportunity when the enemy fails
Dissonant Whistle.
I will be honest, I would have gone Vengeance. They also get a fear option in Abjure Enemy which also prevents them from moving, Vow of Enmity helps when you need to 1v1 a down on his luck Gato, spells like Hold Person, Hunter's Mark and HASTE help you hunt things down, and if you went so far as a 7th level in Paladin you would get to move half your movement speed towards a creature you hit with an opportunity attack. You can't escape death, after all
Man I loved this move I went into it with so low expectations due to the first puss in boots movies
This movie genuinely one of the best I’ve seen in years man
Oh my God. I didn't think you'd do him! This is my new favorite build!
Edit: I love that it doubles as a Bloodborne character.
I like how Darth Vader shares a class and subclass with Death itself 😊
I would have gone with Undead Warlock/Hexblade + Conquest Paladin. For one main reason: Relentless Hex. When a creature targeted by Hex or your Hexblade's Curse tries to run away from Death, you can use this to teleport right up next to them. Undead Warlocks have a lot of passive ways to instill fear with their Form of Dread, while Hexblade makes it so Death only needs Charisma. Put Sentinel on Death and take the Ghostly Gaze invocation to see through walls, and you'll have ways to stop those to try to run from Death, and you'll have ways to find those who try to hide from Death. Between Sentinel, Fear-locking, Relentless Hex, and Ghostly Gaze, you make it virtually impossible for your prey to escape from you.
I'm new to dnd so could you clarify how to build this? How many levels and where and what to take?
@@asuke100that would depend. Ghostly Gaze requires 7 warlock levels, and it’s 7 more levels to get Conquest Paladin’s aura. I’d suggest you go Paladin 1, Warlock 2-8, Paladin 9-10, rest in Warlock. This gives you all the armor proficiencies and invocations you need. If you go Hexblade, the Paladin 1 can come later.
@@bananabanana484 Cheers mate, and ty very much
Consider: As an alternative to the tenth level of Paladin, take one level in Undead Warlock for the same immunity to Frightening that Aura of Courage would provide, plus extra temp HP and another way of Frightening others that synergizes GREAT with Conquest paladin.
EDIT: Also, Toll the Dead which you could totally flavor as The Whistle XD
Going to be honest, my version had blade singer wizard levels since I wanted the Wall of Fire spell mixed with Monk levels but focusing entirely on CHA for this build does make more sense in the long run. Very fun interpretation.
9:33
"Wall of Fire"
Ahhh bamboozled again
Fans: So who will be the 500th character?
Tulok: Death. Straight up.
This is one bountiful build, and I'm ready to wolf it down. Thankfully, the wait for this video really whistled by.
... I know, but you live by the pun, you die by the pun. At least nine times.
i like how you gave the character two charisma stats, showing how charismatic Death is
0:45 “Everybody thinks they can escape but everybody is so wrong… HI!” Lol
In my mind, his alignment wouldn't be evil at all.
He'd actually be Lawful Neutral, but he's so tired of Puss not appreciating his life and taking his 9 lives for granted that he just goes off the deep end.
Either 15 or 11 Charisma, whichever feels better for the situation at hand. Like maybe he’s charismatic around friends but bad with crowds, or he’s a good public speaker / musician that’s bad at one-on-one conversations. Very versatile.
Ah, I just LOVE the smell of a new Tulok episode!
This is definitely an interesting idea
The only unfortunate part about this is that like with many characters for this to work in D&D as a playable character he has to have his power brought way down from what it actually is
You can come back that by saying he's one of the deaths of many avatars and that your specific version of death is trying to hunt down a specific person for a specific reason
The only problem is the fact that as a D&D character he'd still be very capable of dying this was death and take the character from you whenever you die the character themselves can live on as death even if you don't get to in order to ignore the idea that your characters mortal
“Magical Secrets, so you can Compel someone to Duel with the best spell to do that… Wall of Fire!”
I was not prepared for that 😂
This sounds real fun for roleplay. Sure, the low-ish HP and AC might not be well suited to tanking dragons, but the multiclass abilities and spell combos could still wear down the legendary saves, plus it just makes the character so fun (for the player) at parties!
Never expected a death build, but dope regardless. Love your work.
Was half expecting a multiclass into a Hexblade Warlock. Mainly for making the 2 sickles a hex weapon
Yep, definitely gonna throw this one in the campaign as a recurring enemy the first time one of my players dies and gets brought back, got an idea that the first time they encounter him, if they become terrified of him their attacks can’t hit, see if they’ll retreat every time they hear the whistle
Yay! I was hoping you'd do him at some point.
I made a Character Build based around Death (not meant to emulate it) by Multiclassing Phantom Rogue (13)/Shadow Sorcerer (7)
But in my first draft i had a very hard time deciding between Whispers Bard (cause of Bane/Dissonant Whispers/Words of Terror) and Shadow Sorcerer.
At the end i wanted a more "blasty" caster with Sorcery Points to Heighten the Fear Spell effectivity.
I also agree Wall of Fire/Fear combo is FIRE (literally).
The whistle could also be Vicious Mockery
Love the concept. Definitely would make for a good "implacable stalker" type!
Genuinely thought this was the last episode, ending on Death seemed all too appropriate.
For tracking and for the wolf-hybrid form, I think Blood Hunter, Lycanthrope would have helped a bit, but that's just me. I played a somewhat similar character years ago, more of a bounty hunter of people who used unauthorized forms of magic/ran from him
Fun Fact: whistling covers both verbal and somatic components: purse your lips for somatic, whistle for verbal!
It's okay tulok low intelligence totally fits. After all, Lobo "would've had him if he hadnt played with his food"
A diamond in the sky raises in this day, a wish in my heart beat with no delay, for a Tangle the lemur build that leave me enchanted, from the brave and skilled Sir Tulok it must be granted.
Not much to say about Death that ages of folklore didn’t teach us, a natural force of the cycle of life that haunts the ones who feel above its true limits, hunting each of their step relentlessly with an ominous tune in the air. If you really want to avoid its fury better pay him the corresponding respect and value what you have in life, for he is never too far… unless that is what you want? Look I don’t have the moral high-ground but keep yourself controlled people! Between him and Blaidd some might think you came from a desert!
Charisma at 15 AND 11? DAYUM , what a smooth operator
Ngl, I was 1000% looking forward to when Tulok would make this build after I saw the movie and this badass lobo in action!
Weird, I’d literally just been thinking of a build with this specific multiclass combination
Congrats on 500 character builds!!! Thanks for inspiring and teaching me how to build crazy fun characters. Here’s to another 500! 🥂
Great build once again!
2:17 Death is so intimidating, he gets two sets of Charisma jk lol
Congratulations on 500 episodes! Here's to the next 500, be it in DnD, PF2E, or whatever comes!
Hope this isn’t your last Death build. I would enjoy seeing you make a build for Neil Gaiman’s character Death someday. :D
Also, congrats. I want to actually see the Puss in Boots movie now thx to you.
Fuck yeah, dude. The hottest character you’ve ever built, and we’ve seen both Castlevania *and* Hades characters on the channel.
So Tulok probably knows this but Jack of All Trades does not just apply to skill checks; it applies to all ability checks, and as such can be added to Initiative rolls.
Liking this before the seeing the full build. I don't care what the build is, im just happy you did it!!! Love your stuff
That was a badass movie, one of the best movies made for kids I’ve seen in the last decade
One of the cooler creatures Shrek is yet to use Jabberwocky.
Fairy Dragon which can only be killed with a Vorpal Blade.
Perfect build for an awesome character! The wall of fire was the cherry on top!
The extra psychic damage is perfect for that scrape he put on Puss' head near the beginning
You could use other slashing weapons like scimitars or longswords (grab the feat) and just say that they are big sickles.
Happy 500th episode
also cool build Man
Really nailed the vibe on this one. I'm terrified of this build.
I personally was thinking of Bladesinger, with the whistle being the bladesong, though I forgot that means you wouldn't be able to use the two-handed weapon.
I was surprised over bard and paladin, i honestly thought it would be bard and ranger. But now that i continue to watch this, yeah bard and paladin is the best. Great job on this video!
This is an ominous episode 500 👀 but hey congrats on the milestone! I know it’s been tough lately but it’s still a great accomplishment. I’ve also been enjoying the Elden Ring content and I’m glad you’ve been able to find something that brings you joy!
I originally watched you, not just for the characters, but to understand how to build a character at all. This includes interesting synergies. With that in mind, I would start using the new OneDnd play material in your videos. I don't know all the nuances yet. If you build with them I will be very engaged because you are teaching me the new system
Late to the party cause I lost internet, but man does this look fun to play. Or fun to throw at your players to really terrorize them for a one shot or however long you want.
Also, congrats on making it to 500. Know you are having more fun with Tulok and Mango, but still a joy to see these.
Oops, in the stats graphic you have charisma 2x instead of constitution
caught my eye too
this build is great! I'd love to see a big jack horner build! all the characters from the movie are very unique
This feels like a classic Tulok build 👍👍
Been waiting for this!
I love this build!!! It’s terrifying!!!
i was confused for a sec when it said charisma twice instead of constitution lol
Ey! You're looking good man! Long time, periodic watcher and I gotta say you are doing something right buddy!
Thanks for this one. Death has been on my mind sense I watched the movie
The wolf starts off with 2 charisma scores and no constitution, impressive.
I would've argued for Vengeance Paladin, considering Death is after Puss cause all those extra lives piss him off, but I get the Conquest as well.
Intelligence is knowing Charisma is that important.
It’s nuts to think this has been going on for four years now. He’s still going too
Congrats on 500 characters 🎉
This build is awesome and would make for a terrifying npc to hunt down your party!!!
Not sure if you caught this yet but when listing his stats you put Charisma twice instead of Con the second time. Love the videos
Im running my first campaign as DM and i want a character like Death chasing the Party to stop them from stopping the BBEG, this is helps alot.
I'm glad we can all come together in acknowledging that Death is hot
I mean, it is to both Thanos and Deadpool in the comics 😁
Say Tulok, with Darkest dungeon 2's release, maybe you could do a building character for some of their heroes.
I've been thinking how to build this character for months
I had an idea to use a champion of bhaal as a villian in one of my dnd games and i decided to base him off death. Made him a human monk with mobile gave him two sickles since their simple they can be used as monk weapons and this ya can use dex for em then gave him a wolf mask that boosted his sense of smell and gave him advantage on perception and survival checks via scent along with that i made him a shadow monk to imulate the teleport effect ... party woulda had to deal with a teleporting cultist that would burst run away unable to be attacked and moment he got low on hp he would teleport and then just run away faster than they could catch him going over buildings and across water
I’m wondering how you would play this character in a level 1 party onwards, as well as roleplay it. Maybe you’re an emissary of death who wishes to usurp your master and become Death itself.
There's always that double scimitar thing from Ebberon
I built something like this for a gestalt PF1 game. Unchained Scaled Fist Monk (Refluffed) with Paladin. Used a Kama (Literally same stat block as a sickle) and use Ascetic Style to make it scale with my unarmed strike dmg. Agile Amulet of the Mighty Fist adds a +5 onto the weapons for cheap and lets me use dex for atk and dmg (since they are light I can't add 1.5 strength so dex is good for stats). With Smite and flurry of blows you hit often and you hit like a truck. And given that Cha is your main mental stat and smite lets you add it twice to your AC (It does as one is a deflection bonus and the other an untyped bonus) you can duck and weave past attacks as you slice them up.
Skillwise you get all the good skills but Survival but that's an easy trait pick away. Child of Nature (Religion trait) gives a +2 trait bonus and the skill as a class skill.
So I made a Death-inspired character as well and went a slightly different route. It's not quite Death, but someone who functions similarly. He's a Changeling who turns into a Gnoll. He's half Shadow Monk, half Arcane Trickster Rogue, and a level of Twilight Cleric. He also uses rapiers instead of sickles. The Arcane Trickster part only works if your DM is ok with forgoing that rule that limits your spells to enchantment and illusion.
Edit: Also I would like to go all feats, but that's highly dependent on the rolls. Dual Wielder, Eldritch Adept (Devil's Sight), Mobile, Tough, Observant, though there are other options I'd be interested in like Alert, Fey Touched, and Fighting Initiate (Two-Weapon Fighting)
Death was amazing in the movie as one of the greatest movie villains I've seen in a long time, so I'm happy you've covered this.
Character Suggestion: Escanor from The Seven Deadly Sins/Nanatsu No Taizai?
He said he's not gonna do Seven Deadly Sins
@@BJGvideos Ah ok, my bad. Thanks for letting me know.
Another flaw could be if a creature is immune to fear affects. Also another good Magical Secrets could be Scrying if you want to possibly find someone outside of the range of Locate Creature.
Ive been saying every week, the pot guy from getting over it
did anyone notice that at 2:23 in the video he has charisma instead of constitution for stats?
2:20 so charismatic you don't need constitution
I bet that guy who was begging for Puss in Boots 2 characters on one of your Twitch streams a few months back is real happy.
I had no idea there was a movie where Puss in Boots came back from the grave and fought Death, thank you and now I have to watch it! Also hey what if you made Magus from Chrono Trigger
Sickles should absolutely qualify as finesse weapons, and the fight scenes in this movie are proof.
Hiya! Huge fan of your channel! I was wondering for Death considering you chose Wildhunt why not take: Monk taking the Way of Long Death & Cleric of the Domain of Grave?
Forgot about whispers bard. D have gone long death monk with that tashas rules so he can weild weapons better. Long death gets benefits to killing, a fear feature, and the flurrys of attacks
anyone else notice he put charisma twice instead of constitution for the part where he was talking about that stat
A single level in Undead Warlock would’ve given you Form of Dread for 1d10+Warlock level of temp HP and once a turn after you attack you force the target to make a wisdom save or be afraid of you. Also charisma based so would’ve fit right in
But who will be the patron then?
I guess since it's Only 1 level dip, you can get away with "Pact with myself".
@@c1ph3r75 you can pull a Brennan Lee Mulligan and make yourself your own warlock patron. His character Abraham Mehermblur is a warlock and his patron is himself lol. For the wolf he can just become more feral like and have his eyes glow an even brighter red.
I guess that means you have to sacrifice immunity to fear, as thats the 10th level of paladin. That 10th level of bard with all the stuff that comes with it is too good to pass up. I'd even replace jump with hex or hunters mark, so that you can really focus down a target
@@christopherfloody5555 Actually as an Undead warlock one of your level 1 features is the immunity to fear. So you sacrifice the ability to share that with your friends but you would still retain it.
happy 500th episode!!!
Keep up the great work Ainz Ooal gown when?
