It's a wonderful thing that NPD has a slight feeling of nostalgia. TPS has been a place to feel like home long enough for that. Your first impressions of new pedals has always been so cool. The enthusiasm is contagious. The playing was so good. Well done, guys. Makes me want run down and make loud noises! Cheers!
I listen to music all day long at work. In all honesty... nothing makes me want to pick up the guitar and jam a bit more than hearing either of you two play...
You guys are actually the best guitar show of all time period. I'm so happy to see you guys cranking out so much more content recently, going back to your roots I'm noticing too. Loved piknmix, love NPD Thanks guys ❤
Thanks, Dan & Mick! I asked the SuperChat question yesterday about the Special Cranker and, VOILA! I love mine, it's almost an "always-on" pedal for me nowadays. It reacts better than I thought when you roll down the guitar volume and has a fantastic amp-like overdrive/distortion. Cheers from Michigan!
The Special Cranker is one of the best pedal ever made and you guys really made it crank!! Please us this pedal more on your board. It’s affordable and versatile, I love the silicone option ❤
Oh my God- thanks so much for this show! I have the special cranker (it's awesome) as my always on foundation boost going into a hiwatt inspired custom amp head (big clean pedal platform). I love that sound, but when those V1 pedals came out I was intrigued- esp. by the Copper. Before this amp I played a Vox for years, so it would be nice to have some of that flavor again. However, I have watched the whole video and I can't decide. You guys seemed to really love the cranker- maybe more than the two V1 pedals. I want to love the copper, but it seems maybe a bit bright/ brittle. Wish I could try one out locally but no dealers around here. I'll be watching this video again, and on various speakers. Thanks so much guys!!!
Dan I’m a tele man through and through but when i listen to your friend Mick playin that strat wow, love your show as always keep the guitar relevant and those pedals surprising.
Victory products are so good! I have the V30, the first generation Duchess V4 amp and now, the Copper V4 Guitar amp as well as, the Sheriff and Kraken Preamps! I think its a logical move to have pedals and they sound awesome! Martin is really on the right path and evolving all the time! As someone who gigs 3 times a week in Switzerland, with different combinations of bands, these products, just deliver! I don't need these. But, if you are a keen amateaur musician, or someone with not too much cash, these pedals are worth investing in! You won't be disappointed!
Special Cranker is a cascading Speaker Cranker/Electra and an Electra circuit without diodes with a tone control between them and the addition of the optional germanium diodes in the first Electra circuit. The 2nd Electra makes up the gain the tone control sucks out of the signal. You are correct: it's lovely.
Just got the Special Cranker a couple of weeks ago, it's so good. Spongy responsive fat , dare I say, "amp-like" overdrive. Crank the gain to ten and dig into the attack with hot pickups and get that power tube sagging to the point of choking compression. Rad! EDIT: Also at the price point, it's kind of a no brainer if you want old school amp like overdrive.
I have an Echorec and didn't think I'd want another delay but that Fender Space Delay is so easy to dial in and with different texture that I think I will be adding it. Victory The Copper really had my attention in their large tube format to actually replace my amp's preamp but this one is great and at a better price point. Same with the Empress......I have a Keeley compressor and was looking for 2nd compressor, most probably optical but that Empress really adds something quite good and now has my attention. Great show!
I think Dan nailed it with the Church of Tone comparison; the original Speaker Cranker is an Electra distortion circuit (like CoT and a million others) so I presume the new version is too. Nowt wrong with that, it sounded ace here.
That Empress Compressor is a useful piece of kit for sure! The 2 o clock mantra made for a huge volume boost in the Super Cranker. The lower gain setting was sweet. The Copper sounds awesome! I can never get too much of Dan on that red sparkle Gretsch.
Man, those Victory pedals sound great! Being a huge Vox fan, the Copper really floats my boat........and if I didn't play through Vox amps already, but was a Fender amp player, I'd have one right away! 😎👍
Love the Special Cranker... I usually like germanium but for this pedal I prefer the silicon. A little problem since the switch is momentary and an MCU controlling the relay bypass it can be a little flaky, but not a big deal. The Fender being digital really impressed me. Thanks great show guys!
I just traded my Victory V30 Jack for the V4 Copper Amp and I couldn't be happier with the decision. I can hear the amp in the Copper V1 pedal. I can see a Sheriff V1 in my pedalboard's future.
I was right!! I knew you guys were going to dig the Special Cranker. Earthquaker knock it out of the park with this one. Thanks for the videos. You guys are awesome and inspiring! Keep up the amazing work. 🤟🏼
Thanks for the introduction to a nice batch'O pedals. That Silver Sky SE sounds really good but, I have to stop thinking it should sound like a Strat to really hear it.
Right after the live show yesterday UPS showed up with the new version of the King Tone Duellist and the MXR Duke of Tone. Never having had a chance to play a KOT, I am not sure how close it actually is to one side of KOT but I really liked it. I can understand Dan’s devotion to the pedal. It’s a keeper. The Duellist is smoking hot! I swear he has tweaked that blues driver side almost as much as the TS side with the SRV setting. The dip switches on the outside make this wicked more usable. Love this pedal more than the original. Already asked for V1 Duchess pedal for Christmas. Pretty soon going to need a pallet jack to lug around my pedalboard. Thanks as always what you do.
I love watching this show. Am I the only one though, that finds it alarmingly funny that a show about pedals, has two guys pushing the pedals with their hands? I chuckle every time I think about it.
Welcome return to the random pedals on a board format :) If you get round to doing the V1 Duchess, can we hear it into the fx return - I typically play in a silent stage setup and I have a V4 Sheriff running into an IR loader which is crunchy town all sorted but I have a feeling this would sit nicely to emulate the front end of a clean amp for a proper clean channel
I need to stop watching this channel it costs me a small fortune. I recently got a lovepedal purple plexi and it’s soooooo good. Watched few reviews and your demo from while back. Was tempted by the sheriff v1 but got the purple plexi for slightly higher gains and push it with a soul food. It sounds out of this world. But that Sheriff now has me itching for another drive pedal.there isn’t s limit on how many you can have is there 😂😂. Great video guys.
Cracking show LEG END'S, I loved that wee Jimmy crankie pedal ! Mick I loved your madness on the outro but you've been saying your ears have been playing you up . The dB metre hit 107 , you'll end up mutt so be careful . Tee shirt idea because you both sport the bin's why not a two Ronnie's themed glasses one ? Mick you'll have to explain it to our Antipideian Friend . P.S excuse the spelling . PEACE and LOVE to everyone.
I'm looking for transparent overdrive, I have Vox ac15 and a tele, which you prefer, special cranker or wampler tumnus v2? My influence is Josh smith tone
Awesome content, as always. I'm expecting a call from my bank manager on Monday, and it won't be to sell me a pension. That ship has long gone over the horizon. (Edited to add: Oh lord, that PRS sounded amazing.)
Hello and please help me with my question,, can I run a distortion pedal into the Duchess V1 ,,is that an acceptable application,, I know there are no rules but sometimes things were designed for certain things please let me know if this is a normal application to run a distortion pedal into the Duchess be one into a poweramp, then into a 2x12 cabinet
I wonder if anything other than the case and the addition of a tone knob is any different in the Empress Compressor from the first version. It's good that they gave it a new case. The original case is a dark blue and the print is so DIFFICULT to read. It drives me crazy trying to read it on my original Empress Compressor. Empress makes great pedals. I love their Parametric EQ pedal. Too bad they seem to have stopped production.
got the eqd and the new red llama, very similar in lower volumes but the llama has more gain overall both are amazing, i feel that the eqd can do very the mild breakup thing better but theres something about that llama that i love
Good fun, gents. That compressor sure sounds the biz! Too many knobs for this boy, though; my eyes gloss over at 4 and above. Hah! 🤣 BTW, I agree with Dan; when that classic rockesque riffage starts to happen, you've got a deep, lovely swing happening, Mick. Think Boys Are Back In Town and that ilk. A little loose around the beat and it just has divine groove. Movement is good. Metronomes in rock aren't my jam. ❤
@@ThatPedalShow PS - I think it may have something to do with playing a load of blues shuffles. A good shuffle has a lot of movement. Loosey-Goosey, baby.
Cheers!
Thank you G!
I’ll second that my G 🙌 Great playing my Luvverrrrrrs X
I'll third G Barge!
I listen to music all day long at work. In all honesty... nothing makes me want to pick up the guitar and jam a bit more than hearing either of you two play...
Ah man, thank you!
“Less gain, more volume“ needs to be a shirt!
Love this series.
Not at a Killswitch Engage concert😁
You guys are actually the best guitar show of all time period. I'm so happy to see you guys cranking out so much more content recently, going back to your roots I'm noticing too. Loved piknmix, love NPD Thanks guys ❤
Love your show. Dan, I would love to see an episode of the history of your Gigrig company and products.
These recent videos on a Tuesday have been much appreciated! 🙌 Love you guys!
Being able to zoom into each individual pedal is such a cool feature to enjoy TPS, thanks RUclips.
That Gretsch with the EQD sounded absolutely sublime! That musical and harmonic feedback worked so effortlessly into Dan’s playing. Wow. Great combo!
Love Dan playing Red, but the red Gretsch gives me wonders! (was gonna say wood but...)🤭
Fender makes my favorite Leslie pedal. The Pinwheel is perfection! The people working on their digital algorithms are on top of it.
A Tuesday show...what an awesome surprise. Thanks guys. Loved that Speaker Cranker. Cheers!
Dan, your Gretsch sounds incredible. I'd love to hear it more often!
Been representing the speaker cranker tor a very long time. Best pedal ever. The special cranker is the best and a real treat
The sheer joy on their faces as they get killer tones out of the pedals is the best part.
When I really want to know something about gear down to the bones it’s always TPS. Always. No one goes in crazy depth with so much care like you guys.
Oh my God- thanks so much for this show! I have the special cranker (it's awesome) as my always on foundation boost going into a hiwatt inspired custom amp head (big clean pedal platform). Thanks so much guys!!!
Love the sounds from the Special Cranker!
So glad this is back! Love listening to you two jam through some new stuff, cheers
It's great to see you guys back with pedals content
Ha! Looking at the last few months' vids, it's a fair point.
Dan I’m a tele man through and through but when i listen to your friend Mick playin that strat wow, love your show as always keep the guitar relevant and those pedals surprising.

Watching the VCQ today while I work, and this drops. DOUBLE TPS! Great episodes as ever gentlemen.
Mick, that 70 strat blows my mind every time you play it ❤
How cool is that :)
I watch this while doing first testdrive with my Analogman King of Tone that I have been waiting for since 2018!
Though too humble to admit, the playing from both of you is in itself a showcase as always 👌
Thank you kindly. :0)

That ‘70 Strat has THE best strat-neck-pickup sound I’ve ever heard. 🥰🎸
Woohoo! Underwound/weak pickups… Eb… a few Hendrixisms. Winnings! :0)
The Special Cranker with a treble booster in front of it is glorious!
Just got the Special Cranker a couple of weeks ago, it's so good. Spongy responsive fat , dare I say, "amp-like" overdrive. Crank the gain to ten and dig into the attack with hot pickups and get that power tube sagging to the point of choking compression. Rad!

Ah nice finally Pick'n'Mix!
Kind of exciting to see the new Empress Mk3 Compressor, was thinking about getting a comp lately
I have an Echorec and didn't think I'd want another delay but that Fender Space Delay is so easy to dial in and with different texture that I think I will be adding it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the extended "Wig OUts" keep um up, I record them all into a cd that I listen to later.
I think Dan nailed it with the Church of Tone comparison; the original Speaker Cranker is an Electra distortion circuit (like CoT and a million others) so I presume the new version is too. Nowt wrong with that, it sounded ace here.
The LEDs on the compressor just explained compression. Great design!
See, if you keep doing stuff like that it'll make me wanna go right back 😆
PICK'N'MIX LIVES!!
THE (Guitar and) Pedal Show! Thanks, D & M.
That Empress Compressor is a useful piece of kit for sure!
The 2 o clock mantra made for a huge volume boost in the Super Cranker. The lower gain setting was sweet.
The Copper sounds awesome!
I can never get too much of Dan on that red sparkle Gretsch.
I love the thematic, deep-dive videos. But it's cool to get these "we got some new pedals, let's check them out" videos too.
Thanks for doing this! I love it. And, instead of the amazing revelations I can share - this is 1 of the greatest (all pedals on) things ever!!!
Man, those Victory pedals sound great! Being a huge Vox fan, the Copper really floats my boat........and if I didn't play through Vox amps already, but was a Fender amp player, I'd have one right away! 😎👍
The sheriff sounds absolutely incredible. Have a special cranker and will buy a Sheriff next!
Love the Special Cranker... I usually like germanium but for this pedal I prefer the silicon. A little problem since the switch is momentary and an MCU controlling the relay bypass it can be a little flaky, but not a big deal.
The Fender being digital really impressed me.
Thanks great show guys!
Get Rat and an Acapulco Gold. Rat in front of Special Cranker, Acapulco Gold behind. Pretty much nothing to compare it to except one hell of a ride.
I was taken aback with the speaker cranker when I got it. That low gain Ge setting keeps me smiling!
The Gretsch……what a total beauty.
I just traded my Victory V30 Jack for the V4 Copper Amp and I couldn't be happier with the decision. I can hear the amp in the Copper V1 pedal. I can see a Sheriff V1 in my pedalboard's future.
Don’t think I’ve turned off the special cranked since day one!
Definitely on my “next pedal” short list. It’s that or the Walrus 385.
For $99 you cannot beat it!
Dan under his breath, "That Pensioner's Show". Hahaha! Great stuff, chaps.
You boys brighten my day every time you release a video! Such fun chaps.
Nice surprise! Thank you legends!
I was right!! I knew you guys were going to dig the Special Cranker. Earthquaker knock it out of the park with this one. Thanks for the videos. You guys are awesome and inspiring! Keep up the amazing work. 🤟🏼
I really dig the EQD Special Cranker. It’s the bees knees.
I absolutely love my Empress MkII, it’s basically an always on pedal when I break out my Strat.
Love a good compressor like the Empress. My Cali 76 stacked works wonders on slide as per the amazing Mr. George👍🏽
Thanks for the introduction to a nice batch'O pedals. That Silver Sky SE sounds really good but, I have to stop thinking it should sound like a Strat to really hear it.
Love seeing the Gretsch Player’s Edition come out for these vids!
Love NPD. More of this, please, like weekly.
That Fender space echo sounds fantastic, properly versatile too.
Lol. That Am chord with the Space Delay. "THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE", Mick.
I'm enjoying this quasi return of the Pick n Mix. :)
Ha! That last couple of minutes was every Hendrix live album, ever... thanks guys!
Right after the live show yesterday UPS showed up with the new version of the King Tone Duellist and the MXR Duke of Tone. Those intro jams.. Just WOW.
As an owner of the Copper V4 Amp (and before that, the actual amp) and I’m so impressed with how close the V1 sounds to the real McCoy!
Oh, it’s a real Hatfield alright.
I love watching this show. Am I the only one though, that finds it alarmingly funny that a show about pedals, has two guys pushing the pedals with their hands? I chuckle every time I think about it.
all pedals on at the same time was my favorite pedal
ooohhh, THIS is why it's called THAT PEDAL SHOW
That’s the review i wanted to hear with the cranker. Now i’m convinced. 👍🏻
Welcome return to the random pedals on a board format :)

Got to say your playing Dan and Mick is incredible I can listen to you guys play all day.
Thank you kindly Chris!
heck, yeah, fellas! keep 'em coming!
Sheriff starts at 18.52
Brilliant video gents
NPD, greatly useful in understanding tone.
Thanks mates.
Digging the NPD shows. Keep it up!

Ah nuts I was hoping I wouldn't want a victory pedal but I'd definitely go for the low gain one

Special cranker is fantastic on bass as well 🤟
That gold strat is by far my favorite of Micks guitars.
Mick taught me a new chord at 50secs in. Ty Mick
Yay!
I always enjoy the show!
A compressor was gonna be my next pedal. Narrowed it down to the Cali 76. May have to look again at the MK II.
43:18 - That time Mick and Dan produced delay. Live and unrehearsed.
I'm looking for transparent overdrive, I have Vox ac15 and a tele, which you prefer, special cranker or wampler tumnus v2? My influence is Josh smith tone
The Special Cranker has become my go to OD pedal. Gets nice tweed style stuff in the Ge setting. Nobels into special Cranker is amazing,
Awesome content, as always. I'm expecting a call from my bank manager on Monday, and it won't be to sell me a pension. That ship has long gone over the horizon. (Edited to add: Oh lord, that PRS sounded amazing.)

Loving New Pedal Day
I watch these NPD's because the toggle switches can't be set to "2o'clock" and it's nice to know what they do....
the spank that 70 strat has is biblical!
Amazing tones !!
Best outro ever!
Mick just helped sell 37 PRS Silver Sky SE at the end. Sounded so good.
Hahaha!
NICE! I love surprises!
I always love new pedal day!

The tone at 21:20 is simply gorgeous. Sounded so sweet but it only lasted two or three seconds, lol, and then mick turned the knob😢
Great playing in the intro Mick!!
Thank you!
