Going through how racials changed from tbc to wotlk, race by race, and then I’ll help you decide which race to pick based which racials are best for each given class in both PvE and PvP!
Human
Sword and Mace Specializations are both NERFED!
The Human Spirit - majorly nerfed!
Perception is now a passive, and gives less detection than the activated version.
Diplomacy is the same
And a NEW OVERPOWERED ability has been added: Every Man for Himself!
Dwarf
Gun specialization is the same
Stoneform is NERFED - like will of the forsaken it just removes and doesn’t grand ongoing immunity. However, it does still grant 10% armor for 8 seconds.
Find Treasure is the same
Frost Resistance is different and I would say better, now granting 2% reduced chance for spells to hit you. In WoW Resistance is calculated in a binary and non-binary way. Does the spell hit and do damage, or does it get resisted and do no damage? The non-binary calculation is how much does the resistance mitigate? Does the spell do 10% 20% or 30% reduced damage? So, I would say this is a buff. Because now you can still max out your resistances, but you also now have a racial that helps with the binary portion of the resistance calculation.

humans have clearly not too much. only 302 more spell damage in icc BIS than any other race. because as a shadow u have a proc that converts spirit into spellpower (90 percent uptime kinda) and of course you have more passive mana regeneration and a free trinket. i mean CLEARY dreanei isthe best i mean you have 1 percnt more hit, you need 11 percent and even in ulduargear u have like 17 percent hit and later even more because icc gear gives ludacris amounts of hit for everybody. CLEARLY human has nothing to offer. i mean a flask gives 125 spellpower. hwo needs douche more spellpower then a flask. *sarcasm off* l me playing a drea shadow. like it.

Nice video. I wanna add for viewers while human is arguably the best race for arena pvp. Shadowmeld's stealth is the best world pvp spell also helps out with leveling.
youre forgetting that shadowmeld could eat a lavaburst/chain lightning combo and take no damage. that kind of situational immunity can be just as valueable as human racial

Yea it's a hugely OP thing at the same time as requiring a crazy amount of skill.
Races in every expac are so damn hard to choose from, atleast for rogues.
@@Ghost-fe1vp well they’re making all the good trinkets unique equipped. No more dual wielding paragons/fanged skull etc. that brings night elf pvp close to the top if not at the top
Dwarves in wrath get 5 expertise to Maces, i think u overlooked that. Humans get 3 to mace and sword.
As a warrior there is a talent that gives you AP based on armor, which you always take, and there will always be downtime in your rotation, so even if small, a dwarf's stoneform is an increase in dps.
This is all interesting, but I think you didn’t account for the mental duress of playing a gnome. Think that’ll knock it down a few pegs for mage and warlock for me personally, the better racials can’t really offset the fact that i’d be playing a gnome

For DK PvE DPS you have Horde racials in the left side bar.
Escape artist does not share cooldown with trinket so having two trinkets as a warrior is great if you face classes with any form of snare.

Nelf is underrated OP for dps and healer classes due to the fact that potion's 2 min cd does not start ticking until u exit combat. For those that dont know why that is op its because of Haste Pots which is an insane dps boost for any fight that last longer than 2 mins.
Its Not that insane, with haste Hands from engi u got almost the Same.

@@doncorleone1720 Thats fair im just stating that Nelf's shadowmeld is highly underrated. Along with the fact that, typically, the longer the fight the more value that racial has due to haste pots being a huge dps spike.
should also mention that some racials like wotf and sf started to share cd with the pvp trinket
For warlock i would say human is better in pve as well. The extra spirit is an indirect spellpower Buff with fel armor
Night Elf Rogue in PvP is place 1 by a landslide, especially in early phases even human is behind it. Heightened senses stacks with quickness and nature resistence and makes them hard to hit, shadowmeld is a 2nd vanish. Elusivness reduces the stealth detection of your opponents. Sub rogues do great burst dmg anyways, now they got the tools to be basicly immortal, too.
Thus Human Rogues falls behind in PvP until ToC/ICC trinkets are availible.
Overall: Looks like dwarves got the least good racials, stoneform was nerfed way too much to compete with NE/Human, its only for RP Meme.

Shadowmeld can be very useful for tanks when they need to tank swap.
It's also good for leveling, to get rid of unwanted agro. It wasn't stated clearly enough in the video, so people need to be sure to read the descriptions. If the enemy runs back home and isn't in combat, it is safe to come out of shadowmeld. This is very useful when soloing.

I wish you actually looked into the effect of the human spirit and if the gnome intellect boost through demonic knowledge increases spell power. . .You really didn't look at anything. Lord knows 5 percent mana isn't doing much for a class with life tap.

So idk if you know this buf MAGES and Warlocks have a new bonus to spirit in Wrath. Warlocks gain spellpower through SPIRIT if they got fel armor on and glyph of life tap increases their spellpower by their SPIRIT and mages if you got molten armor you get increases crit from SPIRIT. I would pick human over gnome for both races and the human racial is really good for pvp and pve
Pretty sure Gnome still takes the crown for pve but yes Human is better for pvp no questions asked.
Shadow priest also has talent that boosts their SP based on spirit.
But for human mage, isn't the increased spirit good? I thought they would be ranked with more points
That 2% hit bonus for Draenei is incredibly powerful for Melee Classes and Battle Grounds like Alterc Valley, Isle of Conquest, and even in Arenas.

one point about pve healing on paladin I think you should have brought up is that gift of the naaru is especially good for paladins to have since holy paladin still doesn't have an AoE heal(beacon of light is just 2 targets, it's not AoE, hpal is by far the worst raid healer in wotlk) so having a HoT can be really helpful for a number of reasons. I sure loved it on my draenei hpal back then
heroic presence is just so nice for "physical" dps classes that also use spells since they go for spell hit cap
hello, judgement of light. holy light glyph xD. heroic presence is good for every class. since every class cheeses only for the hit thats mandatory.

what if in arena they stop the use of racial abilities. so only the races stats and resistances are the only difference.
Does stoneform remove DK diseases through unholy blight or not?
I would place nelf Rogue at first place for rogues tbh, shadowmeld is basically another vanish, the extra stealth is great for all situations.
2% hit miss is huge in PvP.
Nelf have higher base agility compared to humans
Human Mace and Sword spec is useless in PvP, spirit & bonus rep is mehhh, stealth detection is ok but not amazing.
Free trinket is the only real advantage here.
Expertise isn’t useless in pvp.

Deppends on the season. Early seasons i believe horde do equally if not better, S8 is deff ali season.

How can Nelf Hunter not be BiS for PVP if you can Shadowmeld alot of attacks. Mage does a shatter you meld it, Warlock coils you meld it. Its so much fun.

Yup you can. Night Elf Druids basically get a vanish with this change.

10% more spirit for Fire Mage its BIS

10 frost resistance vs 2% is just barely a buff. Unless resistances changes mechanically in WotLK, 400 resist would also grant 75% binary chance to resist AND average damage would be reduced by 75%. So with 10 it would be 10/533 and therefore slightly less than 2% (~1.88%).
Actually, in TBC the cap was 350 for 75%. Which would mean 10 resistance was actually 2.14% so this is a nerf overall when taking into account the new level cap, and not a buff.
In TBC yes but WotLK breakpoints are 10% 20% 30% and so on vs TBC 25 50 75. I believe it's a buff with how it's calculated in WotLK.

because the more dmg shadow priest does the more mana and health returns to the party? putign shadow priest in healer group was huge in TBC for their mana sustain. u could just keep going

Late for a party but i gotta disagree with Draenei Hunters being bad for PVP (if you are BG player atleast) Draenei hit racial allows you to skip points into Focused Aim talent which spares you like 2 talent points which u can put in something else (Improved tracking for Damage boost, Scatter shot or being able to make any other interesting talent build)
Personally i really like playing MM hunter with full PVE set without medailon and just obliterating people with full PVP gear with few shots in bgs (because Armor penetration is a thing in WoTLK) and Draenei racial allowed me to put talent points in both Scatter shot and Focused fire which adds even more to my damage output.
In my opinion there is not bad race for hunter PVP if you know your priorities what do you wanna do with your hunter in PVP content.
Dwarfs have 1h and 2h mace specialist..
Completely off on pvp rankings, although its still a bit of a no brainer expansion. Three alliance races for pvp: hooman, night elf, draenai. Small human and stocky human just do things that human does in a much worse way. Honorable mention to blood elves, and to orcs and tauren in certain cases. Night elf: where you can't play human, its a no brainer, but cases could be made for rogue especially. Their racial is a free vanish. Draenai: they get free heal. Can iceblock as a mage and have it tick. Scales with attack power or spellpower. Draenai holy paladins can get away with less interruptible casts due to their heal racial. Honorable mention: blood elf. If you want to have an ability to silence/interrupt casts as a paladin, this is your only option. Can be cool as a rogue as well.
Despite the Human advantage in PvP, Blood Elf Paladins were still far better in PvP
Thanks for making the list! Assuming you're in a 25 man, there's going to be at least 1 dranei shaman... don't you think you're over valuing dranei since you only get 1 benefit per raid? Also, doesn't WOTLK warlock value Spirit more than Int because of glyph of life tap. I remember reading Hu warlock is the highest pve dps in wotlk.
Toy doesn't have deep knowledge, he just looks at the racials and gives his opinion at face value without much consideration
Buff isn't raid wide bro. You need at least 5. Affli lock is amazing from beginning til the end, but fire mage and fury warrior gimp everyone else in tier 10
The Dwarf stoneform racial is very valuble on a warrior because more arrmor gives you more attack power with the armored to the teeth talent, not to mention mace specialization. Draenei 1% isn't even that valuble I rather have the expertise from human/dwarf.
Stoneform is best counter against DeathKnight Diseases

@@Toyhouze They sure can. I would argue that another dps trinket slot (every man for themself) is worse than a third vanish (shadowmeld), considering the several ways you can CC your enemy and slip into stealth 😉

3% Spirit definitely should worth something for preist PVE healing. No way for human to not be at least 2nd place.
It is a boost for warlock and priest dps too since their glyph for life tipe gives SP based on spirit and shadow priests talent gives a SP boost also based on spirit.

I have to dissagree with the choice for warlock.
Since Humans get more Spirit and Spirit is turned into Spellpower with you Lifetap and Fel Armor they get a little better results there

1% hit aura is overvalued here. buff can't stack and for melee groups there's normally a enhancement who can only be Drenai to provide that aura for you.
You cannot overvalue it, because it's the most powerful racial in the game. In a melee group, it's bascially 160 hit rating passive, in a caster group it's 130. Compare that to berserking, which is 655 haste rating, but only has an uptime of 6%, averaging out to ~40 haste rating. Dwarf expertise racial is 40 expertise rating, 1% crit chance racials are 46 crit rating. Heroic Presence is just massively better.
Yeah, it's pointless, if all your players are Draenei, because only one per group needs it, but you definitely want one draenei in each group in an alliance raid. Being able to provide that aura yourself will certainly be a boon when people consider you for a new guild much more than sporting some bonus expertise as a human or a dwarf.
@@dulkansilberaxt my point is since shaman can only be Draenei on alliance so for most other melee class as long as you have a enhance in your raid you don't need to worry about your heroic presence buff. So for most other class such as Fury the Realistic bis race would just be human. In most cases you will have the enhance shaman be on your group as long as you are pumping.

@@unclegaspatcho1818 No, but for melee classes you almost always have an enhancement with your group. so for melee class it's mostly likely be a waste.
@@zihenghe7462 Why would the enhance shaman, assuming you even have one, be in your group? Since all other buffs are raidwide, there is no need for a melee group anymore. You could have a draenei ret, enhance, warrior, dk and hunter in your raid and spread them out to provide every group with the buff. Or do you know of any other party based buff? I think mana tide totem is the only other party based buff, but that's a manareg cooldown anyway.
What you want is 4-5 draenei in the raid to spread the hit buff to everyone (if you run 5 healers, you can put all healers in a group and they won't need the hit buff). Apart from that group composition doesn't matter at all.
Most raids in wotlk will run with a single shaman, maybe 2. Currently almost all draenei are shaman, so getting your 4-5 draenei per raid will be a challenge, so rolling a draenei of whatever class will be a good idea.

You forgot best pally tank race. I'm guessing dwarf is best once again, just for SF, with draenei in second due to GotN as well higher base strength for SP.

Hard disagree that the dwarf armor racial makes them the best tanks. The human expertise racial, at least for warrior and DK, will almost certainly be more useful to reduce dodges and parries. Even after the nerf.
Yeah agree. Dwarves also get mace spec tho, which is more Expertise with maces than humans. So they're still good. At least for dk you can pop Stoneform for more Aggro cuz of armour scaling with attack power
its not just about the armor. Stoneform can cleanse diseases and bleeeds. thats op. agaisnt feral deahtknights, warriros etc

@@ceciliam1313 I guess i was thinking of a pvp trinket + racial but that doesn’t work cause they share a CD. But people who play Human get a free PvE trinket since their racial is a PvP CC break trinket essentially
