A special thank you to Ridge for sponsoring this video. Having visited the Tandoori Flame a few days back and experiencing a celebratory feast during Ramadan once sunset arrived, I decided to seek out a true Ramadan IFTAR meal. And as luck would have it, there was such a place in Toronto (actually in Mississauga) where there was an IFTAR buffet! It was a bit on the pricier side at $65 and I was intrigued to see what a $65 IFTAR buffet was like.
It certainly lived up to the promise. Upon arriving at East Tea Can, all the hard working folks were putting together the feast! From the freshly baked breads and the spreads, to the array of buffet dished, it was quite a sight to see. And of course, the great meats from the kabobs to and entire whole roasted lamb that sits on top of a bed of rice soaking in the juices and fatty goodness of the roast. The lamb alone was worth the cost and the fast!
Thank you so much for joining and here are a few helpful links.

I work in food service. I wish all customers were like Tim. He’s so kind and calm.
Oh Tim how wonderful! I am of Lebanese descent and you made me cry! My Grandmother would cook and feed my Dad and all of us with the wonderful foods ! She was amazing and would make the neighborhood smell of Syrian bread every Saturday morning. The tabouli, Za tar bread, kousa( stuffed squash with ground lamb and rice) , makes me cry for home. Lebon is how they pronounced the yogurt with mint. Thanks for sharing and helping me remember home!
The food here was absolutely delicious. I must say, I visited a middle Eastern buffet in Toronto that offered fresh zatar bread straight out of the oven and onto your table. The best I've ever had😋
Good food like this has to touch to be enjoyed properly. Looks so good. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos Tim! You’re such a delight
Thank you so much! Always nice to eat with hands 😋
Beautiful buffet, Tim ! I love your respect for multiple cultures.
It was a lot of fun... first time trying an iftar buffet 🙂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are a great ambassador for Canada. What a wonderful buffet.
I love how you acknowledged Ramadan. Although I am not a Muslim and don’t celebrate Ramadan, several of my coworkers are and it’s been wonderful learning about the history behind Ramadan, as well as their fasting traditions and celebratory traditions.I imagine it must be difficult for people to fast from sunrise to sunset, and it is a great sign of their devotion to God. The fact that you acknowledge and accept these traditions, although they are not yours, makes me think that you are very inclusive non-judgmental and accepting person. It is important to acknowledge the religions and traditions of everyone. Ramadan Kareem to all our Muslim brothers and sisters and great job to you Tim, as always on your wonderful video! 😊😊😊
FYI...Ramadan is observed rather than celebrated. The celebration is Eid which takes place at the end of Ramadan.
@@randyschwaggins I AM referring to the celebration of Eid! ( hence why I put “fasting traditions and celebratory tradition “ seperate and in that order… I thought it would be obvious to most )
@Busybee no it wasn't. Carry on and you will discover another Muslim tradition. The Fatwah.
@@randyschwaggins thank you. My comment was meant to be positive and not offensive. I shall read about the Fatwah.
Thanks to you too for being respectful and genuine.
Lovely Iftar buffet. The lamb looked amazing. Forget the crab buffets, this is my kind of eating. Even the bread looked amazing. The circular dessert looked great too.
Food and decor is beautiful. This is a refresh from the Western style buffets you've shown Tim!!
You are the best, Tim! I loved this video. You inspire me to start filming my own buffet adventures and most of all to be kind to others, appreciate good food and hard-working people, and most of all to keep smiling! Cheers!
Looks & sounds delicious! You are incredibly kind to address the anxiety some people experience when their various food touch. I've never had goat, but you make it sound appealing. Many blessings to you!
It was a very nice experience.. all the dishes were very good, but the lamb was a standard 🙂
if people who dont like there food touching, what they do when they told it all touches in there stomach?
Try Indian goat curry..that's amazing
Many thanks for your charming video reviews, Tim. I always find them soothing and relaxing, not to mention enticing.
Scrumptious lamb, time to get some. Wonderful and gracious as ever. Cheers to you, Tim.
Tim u encouraged me to try a Iftar buffet. The food looked amazing delicious. I loved that drinks especially the apricot drink, I love apricots. The goat made my mouth water. The different rices looked delicious and moist. This was a great buffet, and watching u enjoy it so made my heart happy. Kudos to u!! Can't wait to find a restaurant that can produce these foods after Ramadan. Great job.🤗
Great video! Choukran!😁Ido love the lentil soup and the Syrian salad with the pommegrenade seeds!!!Haaaaaa! Lot of memories of my year in middle East and North Africa!
Hi Tim liked your Ramadan editions. Your very polite, enjoyed watching your vlogs.
Thank you so much and I never really had experienced the Iftar meals ... Very enjoyable
When I'm at a buffet I always put food on top of each other. Most of the time the combination of different items make them taste even better 😋
Great explanation and walk through, nice video... !! Can't wait to go to a country with buffet and rest chains..
When Tim shakes his head like a crazy horse you know it's good 🤪🌼
Thank you for showing us some of the world's finest food and culture
Absolutely an awesome middle eastern buffet. Very nice spreads. It worth every penny. I love all their traditional like home made foods. I will definitely pay a visit when I go to Toronto next time. What I really like about your videos, is the way you represent and respect other cultures. I’m not Muslim, but I’m very familiar with their traditions due to having close friends and coworkers.
Ramadan Kareem❤
🙏
What a feast 😍 such gorgeous delicious looking food!!!! 🤤 Heaven!!! You are always living your best life!!!
Really glad to get to experience this IFTAR buffet. Really enjoyable meal there
Hi Tim
Wow, i haven't seen you so relaxed in a long time, most of all, thank you for describing the flavors of the dishes. I live in South Africa, in the Western Cape. And to me, most of the dishes that you are eating is literally foreign. Like the first drink you had? I have no idea what that is. To me it looked like a soda. Keep it up Tim, and thank you for being much more relaxed. Love your videos. Cant wait to see where your going next. Be safe and God bless.
Tim you always make me hungry, You never forget the desserts either🤣, I like desserts too, Keep the great video's coming
What a beautiful restaurant, so many amazing dishes that all looked incredibly fresh and very delicious. The restaurant was wonderfully decorated and amazingly clean. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Now I wish they can open a restaurant like this in South Florida. Excellent review Tim. 👏
This was a very nice experience and I suspect the restaurants in Florida are quite the gems as well 🤤
Excellent food choices, service, quality and atmosphere. I'm sure this place will be flooded with people shortly.
What a wonderful buffet!!!
Oh all those dishes!.
I would love the Rice Pudding!!
Ty so much Tim
Thanks for sharing this with us Tim
That pita bread looks amazing! Like my Grandmother used to make! Oh my!
Everything looks amazing 👏 it's so cool that you fasted as well
First thing I go for to break my fast during Ramadan is an ice-cold brewski ❤️
Wow Amazing buffet lots of food at the buffet
Watching from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹💜💜i love your videos. They are comforting and make me feel as if im there😊😊❤❤
Thank you so much and greetings from Vancouver Canada
Wow, now that is a buffet 😍 interesting drink selection too.
That was the first time trying vimto... And I kind of liked it 🙂
Good to know that you were fasting Tim. Ramadan Mubarak ❤
I did manage to fast that day 🙂
Hi Tim,if I was fasting and had to break my fast, I’d be so hungry I’d want to eat that whole buffet haha. Everything looks so good.
Vimto is lovely. It’s from the uk. They have various flavours but the one you drank looks like the original - grape blackcurrant and raspberry mix.
Vimto is fast becoming my favorite drink 😋
Vimto concentrate can be used as a mixer with fresh Popeye juice and condensed milk. Its great mixer.
Tim...did a Mediterranean buffet this past weekend. If/when you visit L.A. let me know. It was great!
I was unaware what vimto was but found out its the juice of grapes, raspberries, and black currants flavored with herbs and spices...sounds delicious, refreshing and exotic❤
It's great that you go to international buffets as well. Very nice! (I'm one of those people who don't like flavors mixing on the plate! I would rather use 2 plates to separate them!)
Everything looks so delicious!! I love all these foods. ❤
Thank you for sharing this experience. Everything looks so delicious. I'm not much into meat, so everything else would make me happy.
WOW what a spread, Surprised no maamoul cookies
That look so mucb better than the other buffets you visit!
TIM- NEXT time you are there PLEASE try the Jalebi dipped into the Saffron pudding, this is a "thing" we also do in Surrey B.C.!!!💯
Great video Tim. Do you think you got good value fir the cost? The food looked good but I thought 20-30 price range would have been more reasonable.
I,need to go here.
Everything,looks so delicious!
Very enjoyable, and a nice find
Tim looks much more relaxed and well rested 😎
Thank you so much! Was able to get plenty of rest.. or adequate rest 😉
I would've tried everything here. Lovely buffet.
That looked amazing! And check you out, recording and using 2 forks as tongs at the same time. #professional
Everything looks delicious 😋
They really put on a good Buffet there 😋
The white sauce is a sauce called Toum. Very easy to make at home. Heavy on the garlic
Thank you so much! Love the garlic 😋
Delicious looking food🎉
at 6:59 - always put a napkin or tissue, etc, under that bowl to keep it from flying off the plate. ok, now, back to the video. 😊
Nice feast Tim 😄 congrats on the 90k 🎉
Thank you David... By the way, just planning a trip to Vietnam for a work break.
@@TimLeeLetsGo why are you torturing me knowing I can't go 😭 you need a list of buffets ?
@@DavidSriracha that might come in handy 😋
@@DavidSriracha Please give him a list of where of where the exotic gigantic colorful cockroaches that look like gigantic lobsters, gigantic crabs and gigantic colorful snails, etc. are located at what seafood markets with restaurants to cook them. We have islands in Hong Kong with this type of seafood markets and restaurants. However, Hong Kong don’t have the exotic gigantic snails or the other exotic unique gigantic seafood. I don’t know if Tim is interested in doing it though. I guess you can discuss it with him. Thank you.
Tim, very tasty and Interesting looking food. I normally do not stay for dessert. Sweet looking. Question how do you know whose faces to fog out? Best
$65 😳😮
Does a Bottle of Champagne come with that? Lol 😂
Looks good and delicious but expensive for a small selection
Thank you for sharing
Tyvm my dear 😘🤗
Hi Tim...food looked amazing, glad you enjoyed yourself 🤗...safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗💘
Thank you again Jade! And hope you're keeping well. It was a very nice experience and first time trying an Iftar buffet 😋
THANK YOU
I love my food touching don't mind at all!!
❤thank you
Good i have been looking forward to a new buffe Also i wanted to ask you something i see some people in your video have their faces natural but some your bluff so we cant see them my question is how do you know wich ones thatr like to not show their faces do they tell you ? Thank You
Looks yummy 😋
It was a very good experience 😋
Also hope you can do a video about the big poilish biuffe red apple i think its the name in USA
Thank you so much for reaching out and for the great suggestion! Will definitely give that a try. Regarding the blurring of faces, I typically blur out faces of people looking directly into the camera, unless I've asked for permission first
I noticed some faces are blurred, some aren't..do you individually check with each person to get the ok to film them?
Yes I am wondering the same thing. If your in a public place, I thought you didn’t need to get any permission??
It's a bit of a judgment call, I generally blur out the faces of people looking directly into the camera. Some I do ask for permission if I noticed they're in the shot.
Buffet master
Tim, are you a practising Muslim or were you just paying your respects to Ramadan by awaiting sunset?
I thought it would be best to wait after sunset. Feels a bit like cheating, but it was tempting to start early 😉
Yqw, Tim...have a cold and recuperating from a fall I had 3 wks ago 😢
I'm so sorry to hear and hope you're recovering well
Team carbon fiber 💯
I wish we have like IFTAR buffet in Hellhole Portland, Horregon.
I like Oregon… My first video on RUclips was from Oregon for a 50 K gorge waterfall run😀
@@TimLeeLetsGo Very well...I'll check it out. Btw you are eating Buffet in Saigon 199 dong. I enjoy your Vietnam episodes. Then catching up your vlog in Japan. Thanks.
😂 Tim i’m one those persons who don’t like food touching. That said the food looks delicious and staff so friendly. Hevanly for sure
😄... I have many friends like that 😃
So interesting because I love when all the foods get mushed up together. 😊
Could you please let me know what is the name of grain with the chicken?
Freekah, an ancient grain.
The thing i find with fasting religious or not? some You Tubers 'fast' but then some are so freaking hungry during the middle or end of it they just eat junk. But, this good food.
You need a handful of napkins.
Lovely presentation. TY.
PS: if you are eating desi or Arab food and not using your hands then you are not doing justice to the food nor are you getting it's full taste !
17:04 did that woman just give you the one finger salute? lol. Maybe you showed her face earlier before you blurred it out afterwards. lol
Generally I try to blur out the faces of people looking directly into the camera... Unless I passed for their permission
The presentation of the dishes is not very impressive. But I believe people don’t mind that too much, since everyone is hungry after fasting for hours.
Nice nbuffet at US$47! I would have concentrated more on the lamb dishes, forget the starches!
Tim I really enjoy your channel and think you are a lovely person but I am a traditional, orthodox Christian and find myself unable to watch this particular video. I am also opposed to the halal method of slaughter.
Thank you so much! It was an interesting experience though not well versed in all the customs such as how the animals are slaughtered
As someone who doesn't mind the foods touching; you mentioning it so much and implying it to be a bad thing for some, kinda put me off of it a bit. Next time you should just enjoy the food how you like it and eat with your usual confidence! It's better not to let the opinionated comments get to you.💕
Do us a favor and USE A NAPKIN!
@Lisa Goranson I did see him use a napkin in the video. In the last video there were comments from people saying to eat Indian food with your hands. I commented saying that it seems uncivilized and unsanitary to use your hands to eat a entire meal, because I recently saw Napalese people in a Nepal Restaurant eat with their hands. I realize it is their culture, but in this day and age it just seemed so backward and unsanitary to me!!!!! And most buffets at $65.00 would have seafood, but this Ramadan Buffet didn’t have seafood.
Yeah, I know.. I saw that while editing 😬😉
@@TimLeeLetsGo To be fair, you have to use your hands to eat crab legs and breads, etc. just not the way their culture is using their hands to eat cooked vegetables and everything else!!!! It looked like you had some good food even though there was no seafood 😂🤑
He did use his napkin.
Remember this Lisa....if you have to choose between being kind and being right, choose being KIND and you will ALWAYS be right. There, fixed it for you.
Like to food channel. But I have to tell u that holding ur fork upside down is consided bad manners.
not really worth $65
