Considering my favourite thing to purchase from artists is prints, I 100% agree that print is mint. A digital pdf isn't the same since I can't hang it on my wall, but great if I can't afford the shipping for the physical book.
This was a bad pitch. Print is not dead for sure, but it is clients budget that dictates any physical output. And in my experience this happens less and less. Main communication happens digitally today simply because its cost effective with mostly better reach to target groups, print is used solely for unique and limited items such as stationery and perhaps compliment cards. In the end it all depends on the type of client and needs.
But is that not an issue with any brand/marketing application ? Sure print can be expensive, but the same goes for any other digital application. I think the point of using print today is to create an unexpected magical moment, if everyone is online then finding a way to create impact offline may help you stand out.
@@martinzarian6049 I hear you. Nothing more magical than receiving a hand written letter via post. Analog is still awesome. Explain this to this new degenerative tik tok generation. It's harder and harder to convince clients to go with print.
@@jayerjavec Not necessarily depending on your style and what you’re making determines who buys and how many people buy your work. If you truly wanna invest into Print I’d say also invest in PPC, SEO, etc. to promote and advertise work to the right audience and not just the “TIk Tok” generation you talk about
Although this is very educative, I don't feel we should aim to keep using paper in the future, if anything we should be focusing on how to stop using paper.
When was the last time you printed actuall pictures from you holiday? Or are you one of those digital absolutist that carry all the memories in the pocket and forgot about them? Paper is stronger and lasts longer than SD card.
Customers don't collect web pages. Print is tactile, that's why it touches people. Great message.
As a printmaker this warmed my frigid heart.
Ha! So funny.
