That drum fill @3:25 is maybe the perfect example of taste. So sparse yet so absolutely right for everything else that is happening musically right at that moment. Spencer's rad.
I remember when I first heard Summer Noon, driving through the North Woods in the Fall after it dropped. I had just spent that summer discovering Wilco's YHF and this made me feel like I was alive to experience music tradition in it's own evolution very literally. Whatever that means.
Sort of reminds me of the first Raconteurs album....Just in the way Jack White let loose a bit probably because he wasn't under the white stripes name.....They both just have a really fun vibe like you know they enjoy playing these songs.
i dont know if anyone comes back to this after 7 years, but i just found out that liam cunningham (keys, guitar) is actually liam kazar, who released a super cool record some time back on woodsist records! anyway - this sounds just great, super organic, dry, vintage folky!
I’ve been listening to this set since it came out, it’s a diamond in the rough. Can’t wait to see Jeff at the Thing festival in Port Townsend, WA tomorrow 8/25/19.
I drummed for an original band who did time signatures of this sort as well as walts beats. It was great until you saw people trying to dance to it. Then it was a soup sandwich.
Wow,that might be the most loser thing I have heard my whole life.holy fucking shit.what a fucking idiot.i can’t get over it.o.m.g.who would take the time to write something so fucking stupid.what the duck is the world coming too?somebody shoot me in the fucking face
This world is very lucky to have Cheryl Waters.
Those drums are so relaxed and in the groove! Something special!

Man, I really like the Tweedy material. They really click live, so fun to watch.
after so many brilliant Wilco records. All full of incredible, unique lyrics. And I hear this, so god damned good. these lyrics are so perfect to me.
referring to Summer Noon. What a killer song
Playing 7/8 is hard as a drummer, Spencer is a natural!
isn't this tune in 6/4?

He's officially one of my favorite drummers now. Dude is flawlessly groovy
Bass sounds so good on these tunes.

Effortless drumming! Yeah babe! I feel it. Thank you! :-) Enjoyed the stories and how Spencer started playing the drums. Love love love.

A good surprise, in my opinion. Awesome!

Don't know much about this band but the live version here of "Low key" is flawless.

At the 24:00 mark Spenser's drumming is so damn smooth. #MovesLikeTweedy
That's a young Levon Helm drumming there :)

"It's like having a mirror that only reflects Rob Lowe."
Seeing that Jeff Tweedy also has dirty glasses makes me feel like I'm okay as a person.
The struggle is REAL.
I like this stuff. In some ways more than Wilco. Harkens back to Yankee Hotel. More serving to the songs. Dig Spencer's drumming.

Spencer. I want to hang out with you. You seem like a super cool dude.

Spencer, when are you coming to Syracuse NY ?
Peter Parker is pretty good on the drums
Is Jeff wearing a watch or a heartbeat monitor?
sounds a bit like eels mixed with dr.john
Does anyone know what keyboard that is?
+Jackson Aldridge It is one of the Nord Electro series. Lots of great keyboard/piano sounds.
+Nick Gardiakos thank you!
Is it just me or is Liam rocking a Philmont jacket?
Philmont Scout Camp Jacket
i didn't know Dr. Evil played the bass
Spencer kind of looks like Jim Parsons from Big Bang Theory.
LMFAO
Yes darling smart phones have digital audio recorders. Get with it and stop asking dumb questions
dude i legit like tweedy better than wilco
Jeff Tweedy just keeps getting fatter while not making better music. An interesting series of events.
Jj Jones you don't know good music then dude
Git on yer dad jeans!
