- IT'S HERE! College Football 25 has arrived and this is my first Dynasty series using the Miami Hurricanes. Miami was once a college football powerhouse, but those days are long behind us. The Canes need someone that can restore this program and in this Dynasty we will look to rebuild Miami into the best team in CFB once again.
This Dynasty Rebuild should move at a fast pace. The emphasis is on the team building, with much of the time spent on recruiting and managing the roster. We do watch games in a CPU vs CPU setting to maximize the importance of player ratings, traits, and abilities. We will be simulating many games as well to speed up the pace and allow us to develop the team over many seasons.

When you encourage transfers, they’ll pop up on other rosters sometimes. It’s a cool little thing
It's pretty broken honestly, I encouraged an 85 JR quarterback to transfer and he disappeared forever. Then encouraged a 73 linebacker to transfer and found him on a roster. I'd highly prefer if you could just see your guys on the next year's portal and they be greyed out since they would be unrecruitable for you so you could easily track your previous players more easily.
I encouraged a sophomore buried on the depth chart to transfer and saw him in the portal again the next year and brought him back,, he had minimal impact

Encouraged an 80 overall QB, former heisman winner and 2 time national champion (normal dev, had some better players come around) and he disappeared. 77 overall QB ended up on another roster. Definitely needs to be more consistent
@@cthomas72208Ive noticed that too it seems only players under 80 rated actually transfer and any players over just disappear
Tip with redshirting: players will auto-redshirt if they appear in 4 or less games, so you can just bench guys that you want to be redshirted, while still having them available to fill in for injuries. I like to wait til game 5 of the season to see who’s played and who hasn’t before deciding who I want to hold back. I think it helps their development a bit to get them some pt too

I was able to play redshirted guys. Maybe it locks them out of the depth chart after 4 games or just takes the redshirt off.
Be careful editing gear for players, heard that sometimes you’ll mess with their equipment and they’ll just disappear from your team. At least save before you do!

One thing I noticed is when looking at transfers after you stayed in the recommended list. If you go to all, you’d be able to see where some additional players went (not for you to get)
Don't worry about not being in a player's top 8. Offering a scholarship immediately, and then dumping full points the next week, almost always bumps you way up the prospect's list. I usually get like 1/2 the 5 stars I go after with low interest, and a lot of the 4 stars.
When changing positions if you sort your whole roster by position you’ll see the ATH you recruited so don’t skip that phase so you pick their positions.

Something I’d recommend is going to look at players skill caps. Elite dev trait doesn’t always mean they’ll be an elite player. (Although there its common. Just means they’ll reach their top faster. I’ve had elite players max at 84ovr.
Hey Cane! Just wanna make a quick note, that initial bar the player has next to a school is the interest the player has in that team. The team won’t necessarily be interested in that player all the time or even offer them a scholarship
When you recruit transfer guys you can schedule right away because you at least know their dealbreaker. And did you not assign your athletes a position?
So something fascinating about this game is the freshman will actually develop more as they become sophmores and it keeps going down from there. Juniors and 5th year seniors will get the least amount of development during training.
Which makes since as freshman are more raw players than sophomore-senior players are. Mainly because they don’t have as much college experience so there is more growth
Awesome offseason cane. Quick tip if a player has a dealbreaker then it will always be one of their interest even if it isn’t showing up yet. So you can usually find the right pitch if you have one or two interest unlocked plus they have a dealbreaker
When doing the pitches, it'll sometimes fake lock you out from choosing the same pitch. You can pick the same one, you just have to back out of that specific recruit's actions and reselect them.
When you encourage players to transfer, they just get put on another teams roster. Also, why add Uconn when on a visit theyll only give you like one green arrow on impact.
If you ever wonder how you can change something like your play style or something like that to help gain influence with a recruit you can go to Recruiting then hit R1 to go to MySchool. You can then go to whatever category the deal breaker is in (ex. Play Style) then hit X and scroll to whatever their preferred style is and see what you need to do to increase it. I know I wanted a RT in one of my Dynasties who had a deal breaker at B- for Play Style so I went to that tab and changed it to the RT's tendency which was Power and noticed I needed to increase my running yards per game to increase that. I ended up doing it which opened me up to recruit him but sadly he went to Michigan.
This is eerie. Hurricanes are my favorite team and I started a dynasty with them on release day. First season was a 1st round exit in the playoffs AND my QB in the second season was Nicholas Vattiato. I didn’t even mean to add him, I mistakenly summed through the offseason
The minute you find something a recruit likes... schedule that visit in the offseason. Don't have to wait for the top 3
You know what I was just thinking, it would be pretty cool if you could link up your ncaa dynasty with your Madden franchise. So you would see and draft players whom were in your ncaa dynasty league. You could play both games simultaneously to see those players in Madden draft each year.
That was an actual feature in the old days: for most of the classic NCAA Football games through the 2000s and early-2010s, you could export a draft class file after everyone declared, then load it in that year's Madden and scout them. (Cane did this back in his Madden 12 Vikings and Madden 25 Rams franchises, as a matter of fact. Shoutout to Rams legend Ty Zimmerman; he was such a non-factor in the NFL in real life that he doesn't even have a Wikipedia page anymore, but in Madden, MAN was he elite at dropping interceptions.)
Unfortunately, the export feature didn't return for CFB25; IIRC, given that the college players obviously haven't signed with the NFLPA yet (and some never will if their careers don't pan out), EA didn't want to enter another legal gray area like the one that killed off the series the first time. You could still theoretically edit some or all of it in manually, but eh, it's not the same. I get why it's gone, but it's a shame nonetheless.

FYI Mario Williams was on Oklahoma and followed Lincoln Riley to USC before Tulane. Talented but up and down
Balfour was on North Carolina before Charlotte. Transferred do to PT I think. Had 11 PDU’s last year IRL!

It seems like you stayed on the recommended tab when you were going through recruiting in the transfer portal. I did the same thing in my first one because I forgot it defaulted to that tab. I found the best way to see every player was to sort by player star rating and cycle through the list that way.
The names in this game are crazy. There was an athlete in one of my classes named P. Ornstein.
just a tip cane if others have not set it yet. Even if you have no knowledge of on a players "perfect pitch" like the case with Balfour at 11:36. if they have a deal breaker (his was coach prestige) you automatically know he wants that even without the recruiting screen showing that knowledge. so you could have set up a visit using coach prestige for week 1 if you wanted. It's a weird disconnect EA setup but it does makes sense that if its a dealbreaker you know he must want it giving you the green checkmark

Ya that scheduling visit glitch is tough
Did you know you can do multiple soft sales? It’s very helpful when you know two green, but there are multiple combos for the third green.
I feel like you should have a House Rule to let HBs leave for the draft without trying to stop them. It's too easy to bring them back and would provide more of a challenge. Just my opinion, but everyone can play how they want!

Custom Conferences arent fully bugged you can edit them, you just cant get rid of all of the independents. Presumably the Pac 12 as well but i've only heard of the bug actually happening when you move all of the independents out.

I always schedule week 2. The players are way more likely to commit if you’re #1 for them when you do the visit, so if you start at 2 or 3 use the first week to get to first then they’ll all commit after week 2

Enjoy the videos what I would recommend since you are start with a good program start with a small amount of targets between 10-15 it will allow you scout all of them in the preseason and it will be easy to manage and when one commits just add another recruit.
Some athletes would prefer to play a certain position, which you can tell via scouting, but go up massively at another. I had a scrambling athlete be a 65 at QB and a 71 at TE as an example. It can also lead to the athletes getting crazy abilities.
Send the house on the 10-12 guys that you really want, even if they look impossible in week 0. Some of the teams that offer won’t put in points on that player. Week 1 is when you will know if they are attainable or not
Hey Cane! Unless you have someone who is going to get every single snap, you should always redshirt them. Allows them to get some development basically for free without using a year of eligibility. Getting 4 years of someone starting at 80 after a boost instead of 74 when they're a freshman can really go a long way to having an elite team. Got the gophers to a 90 overall and 2 national championships my 3rd and 4th year by doing that.
The players you request to transfer will end up transferring to a place that makes sense. Did it with a senior QB who wasn’t gonna play for me
You don’t need to wait to schedule visits for transfer portal players just because you don’t know all their motivations. You know their dealbreaker off rip which is pretty much a free tell on one motivation
also, for visits, ive noticed you can't schedule them the week before or the week of (the week you want). really weird and a step down from NCAA14 in my opinion but it is what it is i guess. that's why there is trouble when it locks you out. Visits are quite useless in this game tho besides the tranfer portal ones because most 4 and 5 star recruits are already committing by like week 6-8 if not earlier so its better to just keep sending house or hard selling them

I lost a 4 star MLB during a position Change, Also you can play redshirts for up to four games before being redshirted, careful, though they will stay on your roster if you use them in all four games.
Players disappear when you combine two different brands on a single piece gear. For example, you have to chose from the same brand facemask as the brand of helmet you chose otherwise the game code will freak out and default the player to a random low rating player.
Signing day when you go over to scouting you can see the dev trait.
I remember losing my star Qb to transfer after year one at northern Illinois. Said I had a very high chance to persuade him. Told me no and then wasn’t on a roster the next year
College Football 25 is starting to remind me of JRR Tolkien or GRR Martin - y'all deep-diving nerds love it alot, and that's cool; but to some, it's just a _whole bunch_ of random names...
There's no STORY in the first 16-min here, just a cast of characters. I'm not saying that's "wrong" - it's just not _my_ favorite, and my eyes started crossing, and I missed the actual gameplay of your Madden series ("serieses"?). Anyways, best wishes & cheers !

To make things more realistic and challenging if a junior wants to go to the draft and they're a first round draft pick, I never ask them to come back. Because in real life, thats the reality of good college programs.
Yeah I think I'll create some house rules. Maybe no convincing RBs or anyone going in the first 3 rounds.

In my Colorado state dynasty Elic transferred to us after year 1. He is pretty ridiculous in this game lmaoo

When you encourage them to transfer they actually transfer. My 3rd string went to Florida state to be their 4th string when I brought in another recruit and cut him
Fortunately, those players you encouraged to transfer do actually go to other teams, and can rejoin your team in the portal.
conferences seem fine to me, just DO NOT take out all teams out of a conference (or independents) and make sure to change the rules to have enough conference games
Repopulating the pac 12 actually makes the sim engine and top 25 logic way better

Playing style is so incredibly broken for so many reasons. But those qb’s will be open to you after you play a game as long as your pass yards stay decent.
You can look through the whole portal by sort off of the “recommended” tab
That doesn’t really help with the portal because most are in their top 8 and you are locked out already
FYI : the recommended tab is great but there will still be others under “all states” especially early on

yeah the conferences are incredibly bugged, Michigan plays 18 games a season now and i have no idea how to fix it

The green arrows on training results r just tactician coach boosts. The training is hidden for some reason.
Is encouraging transfers the only way to "cut" players? ended up with 93 players and had to keep a couple 55-65 ovr freshman and "encourage transfer" of a couple So & Jr that would have played the next year.
What's the custom conference bug? Haven't heard of that one yet.
You actually don't have to cut down to 85 for the roster either. Not sure why, but it doesn't matter.

@@winstonlewis5630 if it actually does cut people, I've never noticed, no. I've kept tabs on my roster and I've never seen anyone missing from my starters, future starters, backups, or new recruits. I've gone into nearly every season with 100+ players because of 35 man recruiting classes. TBF, pretty much all freshmen are redshirted, don't know if that matters either.
They 100% automatically cut if you don't.
What bugs for custom conferences? I did it on my dynasty and had no issue

Why didnt you use the visits in the offseason?
I haven’t finished a season yet so haven’t gotten the opportunity to do the transfer portal so I have a question. Can you back out of the recruiting page and see the stats from the season for those players in the portal? For instance, go back and see a QB’s stats?
The offseason on ps2 ncaa was so much better
I don’t know why it schedules so many away games at the end of the season. Their scheduling logic has been really poor in almost every dynasty I’ve done

Why do transfer portal players not train in the off-season? Shouldn’t they? That doesn’t make sense to me.
You should have a madden save where you put the players in the draft and follow their careers would be especially cool for the fake players (ps import your xp sliders so there’s realistic careers)
I understand why they couldn't include this time around - playing it safe with the likenesses and whatnot - but I'm still absolutely devastated that the "Export Draft Class to Madden" feature didn't return.
