Sorry guys I've actually sold the car. I already had 2 other cars so it was getting excessive, and I dont have much time to work on it anymore. Also the car ended up becoming less and less fun the more money I spent on it, it was only meant to be a budget project, as I kept finding things it would need doing to make it drive-able. Sorry :( My friend has a Vauxhall omega with this engine fitted, I could probably make a video about that if there is interest. At some point I'd like to continue working on my other project car (Nissan S14a) so I could potentially make videos on that again if there is interest.
Tbh an s14 is gonna cost you a hell of a lot more money long term. I made a bad decision with my b204 93 and now i want another. But yeah, kick out vids, i wanna see more of what you do
can't wait for more videos! I have a '00 9-3. I've got stock exhaust with cats knocked out and I upgraded to the td04 turbo. been thinking about doing a big intercooler or else water injection. I put wossner pistons in it when I rebuilt it along with balance shaft delete.
nice to see someone taking on a project and building and getting round problems by building items. some people just buy off the shelf but its refreshing to see someone make things. sure it rough and ready. but thats the point. things can be made cheaply if willing to give it a go. It's how skills are honed and created. Hats off to you. good luck. ps I have a saab DE Aero at stage 3. Wish I had the internals the 234 has...
welds looking better bro ;) can't wait to see finished product...I just had to replace The D.I.C. on my saab 95 2.5...fkrs on ebay sold me a bad one that they fkn certified was good....keep it up
Nice project I own a Saab 9-3 linear that I modded not too long ago engine swap with an aero and now I'm ordering parts to make the engine ready for two turbochargers
god bless your soul running that power steering line. i had to do that for both of my high pressure lines on my stock ass engine and it was fucking hell. salute to you my bro! im a little upset you didnt see this project through but i can deff understand why you didnt being saab is expensive af but good shit. id deff like to you build another project soon.
I had a 01 saab I put on a viggen turbo cause I left the car sit for a while and the stock one died after a week of driving it again and I closed the waste gate all most completely I just moved the screw on the flange but it really made the car come to life I has the turbo and I high flow exhaust on it that's all I had but the car was so clean the inside was flawless every button and electronic part worked on this car the outside was flawless too just some nicks in the paint from the years but man I miss my car sooooo much I literally had withdrawl from selling the car
Real ambition! Did you manage to make some other snippets of video for some of the tasks you kinda skipped over? I’m interested in a start-to-finish video for cutting the hole in the floor for the the fuel tank access. Thx
been waiting for this vid for so long lol , got the same thing going on for my astra b204 , with the welding of the turbo onto the 9000 mani how did that go i have orderd the mani but was stuck on idea's for a turbo my thoughts where either hx40 or borg warner efr ..need your help !! haha
What manifold are you using? Welding the turbo to the manifold was a pig. Kept cracking each time you'd weld it. Took me and my friend about 2 hours just to weld it, holding an oxy torch on it too keep it warm between welds to stop it cooling down and cracking. BW and Holsets are twin scroll so you'd need a twin scroll manifold ideally. Get in contact with SAS auto customs, they make manifolds I think. Otherwise just get a Chinese t28 or gt30 turbo and run that. Loads of guys from saabworx run them and have good success.
ratgreen : Yea i contacted tim hicks he has got a tubilar up there ready for my order ( just waiting on funds ) , i just wanted to use a standard 9000 manifold , flip it upside down and get the hx welded on it would of just been a case of copying the budget build video 1 , i am having the manifold off tim to fit my t28 garret i have laying about down here waiting for the manifold so i can fit it , so just a case of making a spare hx40 set up to mess about with for the time being lol
Man you have to tell all of us how did you change out your oilcooler! How did you block off the old oil cooler lines? and how did you fix/mount the new one!
Ah yes, mine were too originally. I think I got a different oil housing from a saab 9000? Have a look online and look at the pics and see if they are threaded. Either a 9000 or a 900NG.
You can still buy one yes, but it will have the b205 engine, the engines will take around 300bhp before becoming less reliable. So not quite as strong as the B204 engines. Still a nice car.
alot off help, hmm i have a saab 9000 2.0t 1997 with all rdy 240 hk map tuned and t 16 turbo and another ex to ofc. But would it die with a gt 30 if i aint boosting it at risk at all
Lots of people are running GT30's on B204. It shouldnt kill the engine. Maybe do the headgasket before, because the original my blow when you go higher boost. Join a group called Saabworx on facebook. Search GT30. Lots of people use them on there. Lots of good info
Saab 9000, 900 and 9-3 years 2000 and older usually have the stronger B204. After that year they are B205. You can identify a B204 by having a red coil pack, or by looking to see if it has a MAF *or* MAP sensor. MAP = b204, MAF = B205
It’s been a year since this upload, I’m guessing Part 3 is shortly to drop...merely another month. I’m curious, if it all goes bad, does Orio or other supplier still make this engine new?
Yes but the 9-5 has a b205 engine and is no way near as strong as b204. b205 is only reliable upto 350. b204 is 500+ But yes 9-3 is horrible to drive ha
Yes 9-5 has b205, but i think you must take engine out anyway if u are going to do your work properly. Its easy job to change engine in 9-5 :) I had Ng900 with b234 engine and around 350-400hp and that car was so horrible to drive even i upgraded every bushning for powerflex one :D Now i have 9-5 wagon with 300hp and t5 pistons :)
BondeLandRacing its the stock motor eco tech 2.0 4 cylinder with a precision turbo big turbo and allot of other mods including e85 pump b haltech ecu harness etc

That's sad :(
50k vid think you should bro....selling ya saab 🙁
Tbh an s14 is gonna cost you a hell of a lot more money long term. I made a bad decision with my b204 93 and now i want another. But yeah, kick out vids, i wanna see more of what you do
I know that game. It's your failures that you learn the most from. Try and think of it as buying knowledge.

Interesting project! Would be nice to see more about this. I have only 9-3 t5 Stage 3+.
Nice project I own a Saab 9-3 linear that I modded not too long ago engine swap with an aero and now I'm ordering parts to make the engine ready for two turbochargers
Great video. I've got a 9-3 myself. Subbed!

been waiting on this, dope
part 3 ! part 3 ! part 3 !
planning to buy myself a saab 9-3
Just make sure you get a pre 2000 model if you want more than 300bhp, make sure its a b204, with the red coilpack / map sensor.
Finally!!!!!!
So umm part 3 ???

Thats really neat.
How is the build going because this video is 4 years old
See the pinned comment. I sold it over two years ago
Where's part 3?
Are you going to get another project!
Man you have to tell all of us how did you change out your oilcooler! How did you block off the old oil cooler lines? and how did you fix/mount the new one!
oil cooler is really simple mate , just two 13mm bolts in and out , grab a universal cooler of ebay for around £65 and away to go ☺
I think I used m22 or m20 x 1.5 to an10 adapters to screw into the factory oil housing and then just got a an10 oil cooler kit off ebay.
But but but... they are ''push-in'' hardlines with a central bolt connection... how can you screw in m20 adapters?!
Ah yes, mine were too originally. I think I got a different oil housing from a saab 9000? Have a look online and look at the pics and see if they are threaded. Either a 9000 or a 900NG.
Thanks it's from a 900NG I just orderd one from Germany! THANKS A LOT!!
Hi friend should I buy a 2003 Saab 93 turbo aero? I got confused when you said pre 2000 face lift
You can still buy one yes, but it will have the b205 engine, the engines will take around 300bhp before becoming less reliable. So not quite as strong as the B204 engines. Still a nice car.
ratgreen thank you so much

What’s the method for getting the injectors out?
Would a 1999 9-3 still work? I just got it from my aunt and I was wondering what I could do to it to make it faster.
yeh dude, should look exactly like mine, same engine, same everything
ratgreen
GREAT as long as my parents don't make me sell it I'm gonna upgrade it
lol, same stud that broke on mine!
please can some one tell me whats the difference between b204 and b205 in what models can I find them

What part are you talking about?
damn u are hard to get contact with Ratgreen )
are u doing this on std pistons ? :)
What do you mean I am hard to contact?
And yes, totally stock engine with 147k miles lol
Nice project but it would have been smarter to do project out of 9-5, old 9-3 is very horrible to drive. But keep it doing man!

i have a stock chasis stock motor 500 whp saab 9-3
T5?
BondeLandRacing its the stock motor eco tech 2.0 4 cylinder with a precision turbo big turbo and allot of other mods including e85 pump b haltech ecu harness etc
