I do street photography instead of going to therapy. I’m not sure it’s working but it’s definitely cheaper. great video!
Pt! My gratitude for making awesome content that inspires me. Also wow thats such a great reason. I feel a lot of times this is such an important thing. To have a psychological release in street photography. Much appreciated 🙏
Not with Portra 800 😆
Love this episode… thanks for the insight and dose of reality! Beautifully filmed too.
Alex, that was unexpectedly beautiful ❤️ I love the calming atmosphere without any music... Just beautiful
Just watched it while filming my reaction to it for my channel members :D I love the new direction! But I have a few things to say... But I guess ya all gotta join my membership to find out haha. #noshame
😂 My brother thanks for the video you made about it. 🙏
what a beautifully made video Alex.. way to go
Really enjoyed that one Alex! A short film. Art about art. Loved it!
Probably one of your best videos. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed the video, the tone of it, the pacing, your love for street photography, it's great, thank you Alex.
Just found your channel and I'm going through your video catalog. LOVED the style of this video! ❤️ The pace is slowed down and it gives me a chance to put myself in your place, to learn from how you shoot and try to see how I'd approach the same situation. More of this, please! 🙏🏽
Relate to this man as I share a lot of the same thoughts.
Great use of your somber smithing stones to upgrade to the m6.
Thanks for making this! Great Inspiration as I go out and shoot today.
A refreshing and relatable video. Thanks from soggy Portland, OR.
This is probably the best video I've seen from you. Well done. The comparison to baseball is bad ass..love it!!✌🏻️
Very funny. Very special. I like it. I can't wait for the next one.
Loved the new style of video and your outfit was fire man! Can't wait to see more content
i enjoyed this video very much. that was very relaxing without disturbing music. as a consumer, i could let my mind wander.
Absolute love it.. definitely need to do more these types of videos.
Hey Alex. Such a good video, my favorite of yours so far. It’s seeing a different side of your personality. Nice. 😊
Very cool video, I agree with most other comments re the calm style and the “internal monologue” effect. Also it was interesting to discover how well you sing.
Loved the video and new style! Also really enjoyed the insights about photography as well. Looking forward to what's coming up in the future. Thank! 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
The Human Made Canadian Tux 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the video G! 😎
Be the algorithm be with you 🤞
Good job bro, I’m a fan! I think it’s important to remind yourself on why you make the photos that you do. I’m sure you were able to discover a lot about yourself when you planned and executed this video.
“Crosswalks are nice, look at this light.” - every street shooter out there 😂.
Also, Japan might be the only country where you can leave your camera unattended like that haha
Random ass comments but I liked this a lot man, 💯
My man..
Indeed it was such weight for a long time I wanted to get off my shoulders about why I do street photography.. I just needed to finally commit to making it.
You also inspired me tremendously in this video and I hope that came through here in my own way. Cheers to more work in the future. 🍻
This video totally has an Ivan vibe to it, I thought.
here i was, getting ready to comment how this video had a strong ivan chow feel to it and before i have a chance, the man himself is in the comments. lol.
I was also about to say. ONly in japan can you prop up a camera away from you and not feel like it's going to just get nicked.
Dudeee. This Type of Video is soooo Relaxin😂 i would like 2 like an Hour of These✊🏻 Great content Alex
Absolute best video. Such a treasure man, thanks so much for taking us through your creative thought process.
Love the style Alex. Keepin it real.
Great Work! 👌👍🏻💪🏻❤️ I Love also the new Style!
the audio was so clean while the vide super chill bro! looking fwd to the next one:)
Like this style of video man keep going, you level up a lot since the beginning I follow you 👍👊🔥
This was very good cinematography and very well narrated episode.
Alex, so good. Enlightening and interesting. Please keep it up! Such a fan!
Love baseball analogies (season just started here). Great video.
Stay safe.Peace
I really felt your words and vibe in this video. It was poetic and inspiring.
Loved it, Alex. I can rarely sit though the myriad photo walk and gear review vids unless I have a direct connection with the gear or place. This felt like a short film, and it really captured your personality and philosophy. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Finally a new video! Thank you so much and keep up the good work!!!
Great video, Alex. I really like this new style.
Cool video!! I really resonated with your comments...I find that going out to shoot is a whole experience...some fresh air, exercise, thrill of taking that pic, having a break for a meal, grabbing some coffee, camera bonding time too, being in that photo zone where you are seeing everything through the lens of a potential image...it's very relaxing in that way. Keep up the great videos and nice M6 there!
Enjoying this “different” style of vids, Alex. Keep it up! Cheers!
Raw denim atari, Leica M6 Titanium, Sakura, nice weather, pleasant sound and ambience... Just great :-D
Really liked the new format!!!!,
Hey Alex, where did your Leica m10 unboxing video go?
I really liked this format of video! Great images and looking forward to seeing more!
My man lookin fresh with the wool sweater/cap. Denim crisp.
Love the video. 🙏🏼
Love to see black/white photographs.
A bit out of the comfort zone for this video I bet Alex. I really like the analogy of photography and it's similarities to baseball. I should stop dying and get back on the streets soon xD
Well this is refreshing!
Thank you Alex, I enjoyed this 🍻
Great video! The photo of the the guy with the tiger jacket and his friend is excellent. Also not the main take away, but I really like your jacket!
I knew it. Welcome to the M6 family. Yes, like the new style of video keep them coming.
What an awesome video Alex! Loved it!
LOOOOOOVE it!! Bravo good man!!
Great video, very insightful. 👍👍
Wow, Alex. This is one of your best videos, I love it. Very touchy to my feeling who is also one of street photographers in this planet. Stay humble and will do!
Excellent Style of Video. I can watch the whole thing, but not for a minute the regular street photography POV videos.
This was so damn relaxing! Great work my dude! Counting the days til Japan opens again haha
I really enjoyed the new style, would love to see more. Just had my first 'please delete the photo', so this was a well timed video to watch.
Loving this narration style
That's a really interesting format. You keep your "light humour touch" as usual and that's also why i like your channel. But this time you add something new, a bit more personnal. It's nice, time to time, to share with us your thoughts.
Keep the good work Alex.
(sry for my english, its not my native language. Greetings from France :) )
Love this kind of video format! Keep it up! Telling a story while you actually doing it on the street. 👌
This is your best video yet 👏
I like the style of video and like the style of video maker. That dodger sweatshirt 👌
Awesome video! I love the style.
Awesome. More like this 💛
Awesome video Alex, love the format!!!
love the calm narration of this one Alex! it is football tho.. ;-)
I’d say the format you’re exploring here is in its toddler stage. It’s confident, mobile, a little shaky, beginning to discover itself, and has a ton of potential for growth and refinement. Looking forward to further iterations.
Heya! I used to shoot street in Fukuoka from 1998-2001. Keep it up. I prefer this style of reportage than what you had been doing.
Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming Alex 😎
Muy bien, primo. I prefer spontaneity and impulsivity because it leads to creativity. You aren't locked into what defines street photography. You have defined what it is and what it means to you because you are an artist.
You should be proud and happy with your growth.
Gracias mano.. te digo bro I'm so grateful for you words.. 🙏
Enjoyed this mate!
Nicely done. I like the format. More please.
That M6 😍😍😍. Awesome Bro!! Keep up doing nice videos 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I like the new style Alex. Keep it up!
That soba looked insanely good. I’m down for these mini-films.
For now i`m making photos on my own, but in time, i wish to meet more street photographers in my area and go out to shoot together. It`s something i look foward to. For now, watching your videos helps to keep me motivated before going to the streets.
This was reeaaally really good!
Different but relaxing video...
Awesome video Alex! Loved the Elden Ring intro haha, that hit right home for me
Hey Alex! Nice vid, I like your humor. When I go out shooting in the streets I often ask myself “why is it so seductive?”, and personally I think it’s because of the sheer experience of not knowing what will happen and if there will be a few keepers. Then again it’s kind of a meditation about scenes, compositions, faces, buildings, random stuff and the combination of all of this. Almost every time I feel pretty good when I return home and have a look at the photos I took (if I was using a digital camera). In the End, once again, it’s about the way not the destination. Thanks! And by the way: What kind of film have you used in your M6 while filming this video? It looks pretty good to me.
Nice video and very street-poetic topic Alex! As many already mentioned I also very much relate to this and what is keeping me into the art of street-/urban photography and to get better and evolve my photography capturing the people and surroundings where I live or when I travel abroad.
I hope to be back in Japan this Fall (all is booked for September-October) if the boarders finally opens up for tourism by that time, fingers crossed.
And I will also spend some time in Fukuoka when I get there :)
Love your work Alex and I like the format you delivered here!
Cool Video! I like it! Sort of video podcast almost haha:)
Great video, no pov style, full of mood, reaction was immediate, i went out and shoot. Thx
Loved the video. And that M6! 😍
loved it!
Nice video I like the story telling feel to it! It also gave us a real insight into your thoughts and process of street photography. Also I had no idea you were doing it for that long, I wonder what the locals think of you as you must be part of the furniture by now. I'd like to see a comparison of the types of photos you took over the 6 year to maybe show the evolution. I think that would be really interesting. I really enjoyed this thank you.
Strong work!
Nice work. It’s a nice vibe. In the mind of Alex series. 😅
Great video! I like this style but also like your other videos so I think you should mix it up video to video
Loved it Alex! 🎉 📸
grazie fratello!
It was good bro, I like this style.
Love it.
enjoyed this
For get the lenscap on the camera. YOU DIED inside. 😀 Elden Ring also keeps me completely away from all other activities right now. As an old Berserk fan, the game is a must.
I liked the video today. It really reminded me of Ivan's style with your own twist. Is it also hard for you to come out of hibernation and get back on the road more often?
No idea what baseball is, but I liked the new style of video and happy to watch more!
Nice video! Love your style👌
great format
thanks Alex
Cool to see you branch out Alex. Beautifully done. PS. 28 vs 35 for your m6?!!
I like it man!
This narration has Batman year one vibes, from the animated movie. 👍🏾
Tip top👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
it might be silly, but I enjoyed the lack of music, the silence for like the first minute of silence and, gladly, it only took 1:25 for the first laugh :)
I enjoyed watching this (more than once, actually). Following your thoughts, things I would think too.
I don't know if I would do it because I too negative agains myself while excessively dreamly (is that a word) too.
Nice to see that your swing movements with the camera came from baseball - btw, Japan is right: is called soccer!
I'm a massive Dark Souls nerd. I got it on launch because I loved Demon Souls and then put like 3000 hours into on Xbox and PC over the next 5 years. Then I got into cameras and now I have zero money for video games. I'm desperate to play Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, but my cameras keep getting banged up or failing. My X-T2 hasn't had a functioning mechanical shutter for about 2 years now and I don't want to replace it, because I can almost viably afford a Nintendo Switch to play the (new) Zelda. If I can live with the jello rolling shutter a little longer, it might be all worth it. 😂
