NO !! Your Grand Marquis engine takes 87 Octane -- only time to use Premium is if you've had the engine re-tuned for the octane increase. Back in the day, many wanna-be racers would fill up with HI-Octane fuel, thinking that it would "clean 'er out real good", and/or increase performance. It wasn't true then, and it ain't true now. The QUALITY of the fuel is as important as the octane rating -- buy FRESH gas from BUSY, name-brand gas stations to avoid water contamination. That cheap gas at the Mom&Pop station MAY be good, but it ain't worth getting stale gas and/or water in your fuel system.
Besides the slight increase in hp, the spacer improves vacuum line response which increases performance. Makes your engine breathe easier from combustion to vacuum.

Supposedly smoother as it turns down into the engine, somewhat increased air speed resulting in more efficient combustion.
In the end it really adds nothing but a cool location to drill and tap for a boost gauge or nitrous jets if you like the ability to return to bone stock
@@cardinaloflannagancr8929 That's right, 'Rider -- the "spiral" that's ground into the O.D. of the Spacer is SUPPOSED to make the air "twist like in a tornado" -- but the laws of physics say it ain't possible. The thing adds a tiny bit of plenum volume, but it ain't worth the money and/or time.
Do you have a video on how to fix the rear doors so you can open then from the inside. I do have the pin on my doors I need the rod that connects to the mechanism well I want to know how to make it
I cut up tomato cage wire and used that...works great and super cheap
I installed throttle body spacer. My exhaust manifold is wide open like some one is on the gas
Will this work for a 97 grand marquis ??? 🤔
Your '97 Grand Marquis takes a different model of spacer, due to the difference in throttle actuation. The '97 has the throttle cable, the newer ones have the "drive-by-wire", such as shown in the video.
My '95 Marquis is the same as your '97 -- I tried a Spacer, and advise against such foolishness. ;>)
@@SlikLizrd I plan on doing cam an head work on it but the spacer I got for it won't fit an the guy told me it would I'm new to ford motors
How much was the part?
I just installed one for my 1997 Grand Marquis & I feel the difference! Where did you get that yellow aluminum tape for your air intake at?
What did you do with the linkage adjustment?
@@jasonlittle118 have u found out bro i cant seem to find help on how to on these older tb
Dyno test it?
Do you think this can be installed with my AFE CAI? Can't wait to see the Vic super charged 👍 I've thought about it but my 06 cvpi is getting a kinda rusty up here in Minnesota so I plan on buying a much cleaner panther by the end of summer and hopefully super charge it sooner then later. I've heard anywhere from 350hp-420hp with similar torque specs depending on tune and boost. 0-60 in around 5.0sec. Anybody know if those numbers are somewhat accurate?
with forged internals you can easily get in the mid 400s...with a basic setup youd be looking at 350-375ish
@@MrRandomReviews I'd he happy with those #'s. I owned a 1995 cvpi for 11yrs prior to my 06 that I've owned for 5yrs so far. To me the only thing these cars need is a boost in power seeing how they are 2 ton boats. I've Only gotten stranded twice in 16yrs of owning cvpi's. Hard to beat these panther platform cars in durability and reliability if you treat them right.
This can be added to the afe with no issue
Should have no real problems... I had one on a 5.4l 2v and it didnt change any geometry when i had a CAI but then when i moved on to a paxton novi 2000 kit i had to modify a tube because it brought out the pipe too far since it was all hard mounted
Hey Mr. Random, I just installed this exact spacer on my 2011 P7B however it now sounds like a cammed shit box. Did I miss anything? Please help a brother out
I got a AFE cold air intake on my 2011 Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor. The cold air intake has the metal tube with the blue air filter. I put the same spacer that you have on, but is my cold air intake tube suppose to get hot? I noticed a slight increase though, not too bad.
Great example of how to remove "aka phantom power from your ford”
Same would apply if changing airbags. Good job my friend.
👍👍
Great video. Will this fit a 2011 crown vic?
98 to 2011
Does your throttle body spacer make a sound whn driving ?
nope
What about the added length to the accelerator linkage?
Fly by wire
What's the part number or description of spacer thanks
Spectre brand 11261
Do I have to start running premium in my grand marquis with this mod
Also if you do the PI on non pi mod then I heard you should rum premium because it increases compression
