    Too many guys worry about "getting it right" the first time around, and subconsciously fear judgement if they were to fail and end up taking no action. Then they wake up at 45 years old and wonder what if. Don't do that.

    Dropped out of college at 19. 200+ lbs at just over 5'10. Started working entry level immediately. Then at 23 I went back to school at night. Now at 28 I make just over 100k and is about 170 lbs. I don't think it is too late. Men's highest earning years are from 40-55 on average. So if you start now you should be fine. I'm 33 and starting my first big reset, I think. I got sober last year. Spent 12 years drinking, traveling, living in various big cities, working hard, but "playing" harder. I racked up a good old substance abuse problem, a ton of debt, and no real meaningful relationships. Sure, I slept around a bit but never developed any real long lasting relationships. I was miserable, aimless, and unhappy last year when I finally went to the hospital to sober up.
    I did a hard reset and since I quit drinking I've paid off $45,000, started investing and saving money, and am researching what kind of business I want to start for myself. I even dropped about 50lbs and have started working out.
    I don't know if I'll reach the financial goals you mention of a million by 40 but I didn't realize how important that was until about this year. I want a long term relationship, and will have it someday. I still struggle with meaninglessness and focus. Work gets me down a lot. I really do struggle a great deal with how far behind I feel in life now. But, I'm aiming to be a better person than I was the day before every day.
    I will succeed.

      Emotions are useless.
      You only need discipline and to be able to think outside your own box to avoid stupid situations and to be able to analyse situations.
      Also what's wrong with being *hyper rational* quick googling came up with being overly serious and analyzing situations and being cold about em, so I guess that's what you tried to say? (Correct me if im wrong i dont know all the English slangs lol) and I'd ask what's wrong with being cold and logical?

    • @Feraluce
      @Feraluce 2 года назад +4

      @@fotis3v480 What’s funny about your post is that it’s emotionally charged writing and not rational at all 😹. An emotional person would say “Emotions are useless”. A rational person would realize that evolution has created our emotional nature to serve a function. If emotions were useless, like anything that is truly useless, natural selection gradually would have gotten rid of it. But alas, here we are, all with a mammalian brain and a deeply emotional nature. It’s usually a deep emotional wound that leads men to watching this kind of content, so they don’t get burned by women again, no? In that case, your emotion has served to guide you.

      @@Feraluce didn't say im devoid of all emotion I still carry a lot of anger inside me i just learned to use it as a fuel rather than a detriment.
      My point still stands tho its better to be completely apathetic and overly rational in todays society imo and im trying to improve myself by letting go of said anger same way ive let go of mostly anything else.
      Idk why im overly emotional tho by stating that feelings are useless? Its not like I grabbed you by the neck and told you that haha i just made a comment :P.

    • @Feraluce
      @Feraluce 2 года назад

      @@fotis3v480 I understand what you mean, being overly emotional can definitely derail us in life. My main point was that your statement “emotions are useless” is an emotional thing to say, and not rational at all which is just ironic. A truly rational man would see the utility in his emotions and seek to understand what his emotions are trying to tell him. Emotions can be like a compass, giving us direction towards what we truly desire.

    You got to work the shitty jobs while you're young man. You have got the benefit of being young.. You can try different business models now. You have the time to make those mistakes and learn from them. When I was this guy's age, I was working in for a geotechnical engineering firm just playing in the dirt doing soil sampling for a measly $10/hr. Chase excellence not women. The women will come. Put in the work

    My advice to a young guy would be to work for a temp agency (like manpower, staffworks, etc). They will throw you temporary contracts that you can decide whether or not you want to accept. And you'll work a whole bunch of different jobs, getting different job experience. This will do a few things for you:
    1) You'll make money because you're working.
    2) You'll build up your resume because you'll be working a whole bunch of random temporary jobs.
    3) You'll discover more about yourself and what you want to do for a living because you'll discover what kind of jobs you like and what jobs you don't like.
    4) You'll get an idea of how much each job pays.

At 21 you are a penny a dozen, if that. Spend this decade building the foundation and first 10 floors of the mega skyscraper you will one day be. In your mid 30's , the attractive 20 somethings will be taking note. The ones around you today aren't for you. They are for guys ahead of you. Let it be. Start construction.
    As a side note. If you follow Rich's advice and that of older, wiser guys here in the comments, you 40's will be something you can't imagine right now. But only if you do the work, build, learn and for phuqs sake, don't whine. Being a man is difficult, but glorious.

    Spent my entire life a villain until something happened at age 18. Juvenile prison, life on the streets, the worst choices I could make. I’m 20 now two short years after leaving home I’m a hydroblast tech in the ethanol industry. One day both me and the lord decided that it was time to be different and so I got a shitty job making sandwiches, moved my way up to sanitation, and then learned a trade. I WILL spend the rest of my life being good to people and working hard and doing the right thing

    I kinda feel i am in a rut as well. I live in Miami and I'm gonna be 34 next week and i only making 16 an hour in a aviation company even though I graduated from HVAC. I worked in the field for 2 years but the schedule and the demands of the job was insane, i worked in the refrigeration side and i like it don't get me wrong i like mechanical stuff and i always liked working with my hands but the demands and the customers were so insane(supermarkets and restaurants). Where i am at now is way more calm and i have a set schedule no on call no odd hours or anything but i don't wanna abandon my HVAC i want to still work in that and if i can, do both. But right now I need to make money because i live by myself and like i said I'm gonna be 34 next week and i feel like i am really behind with money and women, i go to the gym but i am still working on the physical part. I used to box so maybe that'll get me in faster shape if i return. But what can I do in terms of making more money? I always had a bad relationship with it and my work ethic was always low but now i see the consequences of having low work ethic now i need to catch up to make a decent amount of money. Any tips would be helpful, thank you.

      Save up what you can do night classes it will be hard but can be done look for 2 year degrees that can start you off around 55 to 65k get the job then if there's a position in that job that requires 2 more years of school and the salary is around 80 to 100k do it it will be one of the hardest things you have ever done but by 40 you will be set I know 3 people who came from nothing and bad homes one now makes 80k the other makes 110k and the last one makes around 160k anything is possible don't get married or have kids in the mean time and you should be able to do it

    Dude if you're looking to build value and develop opportunities to make more money I recently came across someone who promotes the use of boring businesses to make more money. They refer to examples such as vending machines, laundromats and car washes. Things that aren't glamorous and most people won't want to go near as a job, but which will make you money and have a low entry level. So that sort of thing could work for you or be an option as taking you to the next rung of the ladder.

    Let's not be so quick to bag on college. I tend to agree that a liberal arts degree and 12 bucks gets you into the movies. But a degree that leads to a license (financial broker, law, MD) allows you to do something the general public cannot. This is wise.

Now recently when women have approached me in bars/clubs (I'm a very good looking guy) he has over taken the conversation and eventually the women will start to be interested in him and he leaves with them. Should I still hang out with this guy? Would you guys still hang around if your mate was like that?
