Great info Josh, one thing I would like to add is that when you do change out your trailer tires for a better quality tire, always have metal valve stems installed. They will hold up better and last longer than a rubber valve stem when using a TPMS.
Ooo- great idea Ross! I like to get my trailer tires balanced too - most shops youll have to specifically ask them to do this.
I agree, good info. My TPMS paid for itself on our first major road trip from Oak Harbor, WA to San Diego, CA. 100 miles short of the completing the entire west coast of the USA. An hour into our trip we got a tire losing pressure alarm and changed the tire in Everett, WA. On the way back, as soon as we got out of the Grapevine heading north, we got another losing pressure alarm from a tire that had the tread separating from the tire. We changed the tire and the wife found Les Schwab in Lemoore, CA where we got all new trailer tires. TPMS safe us from two blowouts. Yes, the tires were old and we decided to monitor them instead of getting new tires. That was the bad decision but TPMS safe us from having the tires eating the trailer. I agree, this should be the first thing you buy before hitting the road. The second, is new tires if yours are over 5-7 years old. Good stuff Brudda. Thank you for hsaring
Whoa - glad the TPMS did its job. Ever seen the V8 veggie juice commercials? "Shoulda had a V8 as the person get bonked on the head? Thats how I feel seeing a blown tire on social media and zooming in to see that the rig is not old enough to have internal TPMS and there is none present on the valve stem: "Shoulda run a TPMS!"

After I dump my black tank I always put 10 gallons of water back into the tank. Helps give a good clean out.

@@rvgearandfar really, at this point, I am researching the best quality RVs out there. There seems to be a lot of problems with some of them. But I like watching everyone’s videos to get tips and tricks for camping in general. I don’t have one yet, I am still researching.
