    I had this on DVD and I loved it, shame Sylvester Stallone couldn't do what he had planned in the first place, since F1 is very secretive as to HOW the cars are built, so they changed it to CART, later known as Champ Car, I do think that CART was a better choice than Indycar due to the fact they had a bit more expansive calender in terms of types of tracks, more races in a season and the fact they raced in more countries than Indycar at the time, the only thing Indycar would have as an advantage would be the Indy 500.

    • @anthonyirelan5112
      @anthonyirelan5112 5 лет назад

      oh just imagine Sly pitching the script to the uptight F1 overseers. He never stood a chance. Thats also me
      assuming he ever made it into a meeting room, or beyond a few phone calls. Somewhere recently
      I heard the most recent netflix F1 deal is falling apart due to non-disclosure nonsense and also Lewis
      Hamilton being an egotistical over-controlling egomaniac. For the record I am a nascar fan so feel free
      to bring on the hate. My skin is like leather to open wheel fans

    • @KeirArmstrong
      @KeirArmstrong 5 лет назад

      Anthony Irelan The Netflix deal was something that everyone has agreed to for this season, Merc did only agree to one race, but they pucked the best one, also Lewis was I'll during that weekend, so him not wanting to do it makes sense.

      @@KeirArmstrong Forgive me I have totally been wrong before, and cant remember where I saw the
      article. But if he was honestly sick i get it. Or, he loopholed his way out of what to me seems like
      F1's version of NFL's "hard knocks". and in either case, i guess i would not blame him.
      I dont like him but i respect him. kinda like Mr Tom Brady

    • @KeirArmstrong
      @KeirArmstrong 5 лет назад

      Anthony Irelan That's fine, I would refuse to do it too if I was sick that weekend, as I wouldn't want someone's first impression of me to be footage of me being ill, but I say the race that Mercedes's allowed them to record footage for was worth it.

  • @harlyslamm2888
    @harlyslamm2888 Год назад

    To correct the author! This movie is based on a story of the 1994 Formula 1 world championship! Micheal Schumacher (german) was the new champion, Damon Hill (Rookie) was the challenger, and Burt Reynolds (Frank Williams) was the team owner! The rookie continued to crash and succumbed to the mental pressure of fighting for the world championship, and the team owner called on his previous champion (Nigel Mansell) to help resurrect his title bid.
    It worked, Hill and Schumacher went down to the last race with one point, they both crashed out, and Mansell went onto win! Stallone used the 1994 season as inspiration with him in the centre, he was originally going to use F1 cars, but when the owners read the script they threw Stallone out of the circuit, and banned him for life.
    Instead he used Indycars, while keeping the entire script as is! the acting was horrible, and 1994 season was a classic, it should have been a docuseries rather then a movie around Stallone
