What a song! Definitely a masterpiece!
Asami has a long history of ballet training, that's why all of her movements are so elegant.
Miyako shows her piano talent again, being 4 or 5 months into her pregnancy in 2021.
Playing piano with a baby in the womb and a guitar hanging between you and the piano is no big deal for Miyako!

The question people asked when first hearing this was "Can they do this live"? And quite simply the answer was, "it's lovebites," . And they produce a masterclass performance that will go down as one of the greatest masterpieces of music in history. Stunning in every way from start to finish. 🤘🎤🎹🎸🥁🐺

@@ChadTheDragonLordit’s why they are so special, and one of the many reasons I always refer to them as the “best” band that I have ever experienced. And this version of A Frozen Serenade is not a song, it’s not even a performance. It’s a production. And it’s also why I shake my head when channels and fans alike pigeonhole them as a “power metal” band. They’re much more than any one genre, they are their own genre. And they very quickly became the only band I wanted to listen to. I play older stuff by my heroes occasionally, but I even ditched Spotify and Amazon Music and transferred all my LOVEBITES CD’s to lossless format and listen to them in a music player app, both on iPad and iPhone. @dg3258 hit the nail squarely on the head. You always want to play it, you always enjoy it, it never gets stale and the video footage is all the above but with occasional moments such as this (and Epilogue..for me) that bring a huge lump to my throat.
      Best band ever. Literally.

This is my #3 most favorite Lovebites song. It starts out so slow and steady by Lovebites standard but it transforms into this beautiful, elegant, and moving visual that is so much more than a "song" with the ballet and the snowflakes and the acoustic guitar and piano. Lovebites really created an epic masterpiece with this one. And the crescendo into Midori's awesome guitar solo just blows me away. Its my most favorite Midori solo, giving me goose bumps every time I hear it. The entire song is just magical.

When you watch it again, pay attention to how FAST Miyako switches from playing a note on the piano to playing a note on her guitar (an Infinity - Japanese boutique brand known for it's 'infinite' sustain) . . . It's 3 seconds!! For me, what makes Lovebites truly Special is that they sometimes Try, very successfully, to make Heavy Metal - Beautiful. Literally No One does that like Lovebites does. Here's one to put in your computer Memory Bank. This is Lovebites' only 'true' ballad - *_Epilogue_* ruclips.net/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/видео.html I would recommend waiting a few days, and having tissues ready.

Lol. I cry easily too. Literally I have been astonished by her ability to slip over to the keys and damned if I can catch her doing it! She might be a once in ten generations musician. She is a master technician while having soul and heart and the ability to transcend the technical side of whatever she' playing. She grinds out some muddy blues riff that makes me growl and then flips to a stanza full of classical overtones without batting an eye but oh so full of spirit. I'll happily check out your recommendation and thanks for the link!

@@RockCandy-ix3nn You can check Swan Song during Midori's final solo. Every time they switch views Miyako is moving closer to the piano. At the end of the solo you can see an overlay of Miyako at the piano (on the left side), with a tech taking her guitar, just seconds before she starts the outro solo. I Love her so much. Such talent - guitar/piano/synth/keytar/drums/bass/sound-recording engineer/ composer/backing vocals to Asami/guitar tech/gear nerd/mother to a toddler . . . Mi-Ya (what her bandmates call her) is a true Musical Genius. You should also check out her 'cover' of Helloween's *_Eagle Fly Free_*. ruclips.net/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/видео.html It is part a her (first) EP *Etude .op 23* , where she re-imagines 6 Metal and Rock classics as classical piano pieces: Battery - Metallica , Far Beyond the Sun - Yngwie , Eagle Fly Free - Helloween , Burn - Deep Purple , The Loner - Gary Moore , Addicted - Lovebites (Mi-Ya composed). It's all available on Spotify and Google Music. Earlier today (in Japan) she held her first ever Piano Recital, with 2 sold out shows. Her RUclips channel is great fun too.
And I fully understand the tearing up. It's just a musician thing (as I'm sure you know) - I do it all the time when the beauty of a particular piece of music temporarily overwhelms be. I'm a bit older (75), and been a performing musician since my first professional gig in 1966 (backing acoustic guitar for the vocals in a Univ. of Tulsa play). It's funny how a life-long acoustic/folk singer-songwriter can also be such a HUGE Metal Head for that last 40 years. I think you have just witnessed greatness and an epic masterpiece. I challenge any other band to replicate that LIVE, let alone do better. Asami trained in ballet at a very young age, and she translated some of that training to this LIVE performance. BTW, there's a track that'll challenge "Judgement Day" for relentless pace and completeness - "Soldier Stands Solitarily" : ruclips.net/video/jeL6FHQ01V4/видео.html . Thank you! Though my channel is fairly young, I am on the edge of giving this band its own channel. I haven't because people who come here for other bands may get a chance to hear it. But, one could do a deep dive in too many ways to list here, especially since I'm typing on my phone with one finger! Lol. I am astonished with this group of incredibly talented ladies time and again and constantly catch myself in post having to cut out lengthy diatribes. Lol. I am out of town right now but have set "Raise Some Hell" to release at 8pm Central time tonight, another song that absolutely floored me. When I listen to this band, I feel I hear so many influences running through a single song that I can't keep up and that's fun - damn fun! They execute flawlessly and oftentimes at high speed. As soon as I feel comfortable with doing a decent live broadcast, we're doing it. And pack a lunch. Cause we're going to be there awhile. Anyway, shutting up now. LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics:
Crystal tears Falling from the skies
    Veiling fears The emptiness inside
    Time is just passing by
Killing me under the soft twilight
    A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
    A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
    One life ends
    And one life begins
    Evanesce
    To our origins
When I'm lost on my way
Lead my heart and guide me with your grace
    A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
    A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
Just like a dream, just like a bird
    I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away
All living things are precious and irreplaceable
Just like a dream, just like a bird
    I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky
If only I could wish to see you once more

How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twenty, max? I’m not talking about merely great songs. There may be a few hundred of those (out of millions of songs). A masterpiece is much more. It combines beautiful composition with brilliant execution. It tells a story, taking you through a range of emotions until it overwhelms you. For classical music fans, the iconic example is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. For something shorter and more comparable to a rock song, think of Ravel’s “Bolero”. Among actual rock songs, I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Clare Torrey and Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; and “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish. Importantly: many of the greatest rock groups never produced a masterpiece. Lovebites, in five short years, have given us several, and I think this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest. Thank you for featuring this!

As @salsaucedo mentioned, there is an excellent OMV for "Judgement Day" on LOVEBITES channel, that's also a separate entry in my list. It's worth watching, and it also tells a bit more about the story behind this song. Of dark and light sides, fortunes, judgement, etc. As this was the first OMV after the hiatus, another reason for starting and ending with the bass is just showcasing Fami! 🤪

It is their absolute masterpiece among many others. And Haruna is a magician on the drums. As for Miyako we must add keyboards, bass guitar, a little drums and songwriting! Total genius. Asami is one of the best rock singers who keeps getting better and better. And what about Midori who, for me, has no equivalent in the world (apart from Miyako). On this video the bassist is Miho who has since been magnificently replaced by Fami. All this to say that this is the best group in the history of metal.

It is my understanding concerning "Judgement Day" that their culture does not view it as a singular 'final judgement' (as in 'the west') but as an ongoing experience on a daily basis of self-examination, personal-responsibility & integrity. The intro/outro representing this 'repeating' process each day throughout our lives. Perhaps the 'fuller story' would continue with a different 'struggle' culminating in 'victorious' overcoming of fears, doubts & obstacles in our paths of enlightenment (?)
    from "Judgement Day"
    Life - Given the “foreverness”
Life - Leaving name in history
Now with the great will, the path lay in front of me
Starting here, this is the day!
"Today Is The Day" has a similar 'theme': ruclips.net/video/ruAm4zTCTn8/видео.html includes [cc] lyrics
LOVEBITES catalogue of songs consistently conveys this kind of message expressed in a myriad of 'stories' ...

I would strongly suggest you listen to the Music video of Judgement Day, imo the live segment doesn't really give the song the recognition that it so well deserves, don't get me wrong I love watching these ladies Live but, in this instance, the music video is way much better. check it out and see for yourself what I mean. Now, speaking of masterpieces this is an absolute one of the three that are more than just epic and phenomenal but explosive, easily falls in with Judas Priest's Beyond the Realms of Death, Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven, Black Sabbath (Heaven and Hell) Lonely is a Word, MSG Lost Horizons to name a few. The other two masterpieces are Edge of the World and Swan Song + Chopin intro
