MIYAKO is special!! Concert level pianist, amazing guitarist, composer, arranger, plays other instruments!! IMO, she could even model, a beautiful woman ❤🤘🔥🤘!!
Technically spoken, she has modeled for her signature Dean guitar... ;-)
the eighth wonder of the world. 😅😅
@@zainalabidinramli762That's my saying! Lol 🙂
Miyako has been classically-trained on the piano since she was 3 years old. In fact, piano is her first instrument. At the age of 18, she picked up a "how-to" book and taught herself how to play the guitar. This lady who is a virtuoso on both the piano and guitar, as well as an established composer & arranger, is a generational talent and prodigy. BTW, Miyako composed & arranged Swan Song and Shadowmaker.
I just asked someone else if she was classically trained and you answered! Thank you!. Self trained, huh? It's clear that Miyako is a gift from Heaven. She floored me with that keyboard work last night. Wow! Thanks for the visit!
every time i watch this intro miyako reminds me of a mad scientist hovering over her test tubes. the master at work
LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
SOLO: miyako / both
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan

The Miyako Show
Since 1971 when I got into metal, there have been only two musicians I have called my favorite. A lot of greats, but these two stand out for me.
The first was Keith Emerson from ELP. I grew up playing keyboards. Keith just hit home for me. And now, it's Miyako. She is elite/virtuoso at guitar, piano, composing, and arranging. She is a complete package, no one I deem better than her.
Nice reaction.
Yes! She has had my attention from the get-go with her intensity in performance. Her aggressive yet very interesting guitar solos are so galvanizing. And last night was my first chance to see her play keys. MAN! That was a blistering pace with the left hand while she played melody. Not being a keyboardist myself, you would know better whether or not that was difficult but to me it looked and sounded awesome. The "waterfall" counterpoint near the outro was interesting as well. Thanks for your comment and visit!
I'm a huge ELP fan myself, ever since I heard "Hoedown" in high school (1973?). I count Emerson, Joe Satriani, and Miyako as my favorites.
@@daveminers3404 I just got tickets to see Joe Satriani and Stevie Vai next April. Super psyched as Satriani is a top guitarist for me.
@@mmcpa Wonderful! I've seen him 7-8 times now here in Phoenix, once was a G3, once at the state fair, and the others were one-mans at a venue called Celebrity Theater. It's a 2600 seat round venue and the stage slowly rotates. Got front row once and could read the set list next to the drummer's kit.
@@daveminers3404 Darn it, I could only get 4th row 😆, front/center orchestra.
The Chopin piece Miyako (guitar/keyboards) is playing in the intro is "Etude OP10, No. 12" known as the "Revolutionary Etude."
In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was called the "November Revolution" but ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agent presented "Etude OP10, No. 12" in Paris. Because of the agent's exaggerated publicity, people called this piece "Revolutionary Etude.
Miyako composed "Swan Song" based on this "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony.
Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude" and inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake.
"SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES could complete.
Thanks for the historical background. There's a modern echo.
I don't think there are more than around 20 rock songs that are true masterpieces--maybe Bohemian Rhapsody, Kashmir, A Day in the Life....Lovebites have given us perhaps five already, and this is clearly one of them. As for Miyako, she is the Black Swan. We are unlikely to see another like her in my lifetime, for sure.
Hello Hiawatha! I agree. I was thinking last night, not for the first time either, that Miyako's intensity when she plays is like an aura around her. The world goes away and there is her and the music. I have had the pleasure of being in "The Zone" on stage and it always surprises me when it happens (that feeling that you are suddenly channeling a higher performance level and watching yourself play}. But, I have known maybe a handful of musicians that seem to have the ability to go there "on demand". When I have been on stage or in practice with these musicians I almost forget to play cause I get to listening to them. lol. I believe Miyako is one such musician.
They remain relatively obscure, but if you follow their social media they communicate almost exclusively in Japanese. They may sing in English but they are Japanese to the core and proud of it. They will never compromise their identity.
Yes, that was a special performance. I hope those fortunate enough to have been there are aware of how special that was. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Asami may have her stage presence (especially in this song) from her ballet background in her youth. Her singing background is not metal, but R&B and soul music.
Miyako plays piano/keyboard since over 30 years now, starting at an age of 3. She self taught her guitar skills since she was 18 or 19. She can also play bass and some drums.
Actually, I think, all of them have learned piano, Asami goes to the piano and plays some easy notes in (very) few songs, e.g. "We The United", when Miyako is busy with her guitar.
None of the piano playing is easy and yes they are all professional pianists
@@salsaucedo I've yet to hear really tough piano stuff from Asami. Doesn't mean, that she can't do it. I suspect, that she can, if you consider Japanese culture...
I don't like to make distinctions, especially for Lovebites, but I have to say that Miyako is a pure genius! She plays keyboards, piano, lead guitar, bass guitar, she does well on drums and she writes songs. What else...?
Loved your reflections on music being a language for the soul, and the angelic LOVEBITES who never fail to deliver excellence in their music and message. embody
Behold, the power of Miyako!😊❤
Behold indeed! What an incredible musician and performer. Thanks for the visit.
Miyako "The Golden Touch" is a given nickname for a specific reasons and you just witnessed one
It is not a James bond movies ffs! Seriously who dreamt that up. The woman is proficient but the golden touch ( gold finger) 🤣. The more I read these comments, the more they become a source of amusement. Miyako is an amazing artist but I have seen better
Yeah, first and foremost, Miyako is a piano player. When she writes new music, it's generally on the piano first. BTW, she can play a pretty mean bass & drums.😮
😏♥️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
I'm not surprised. I thought I saw somewhere that she was a classical pianist before she played guitar. Is that true? Anyway, thanks for the visit and comment!
@RockCandy-ix3nn Miyako is giving a piano recital on Nov. 17th. Two shows, " A day an evening with Miyako, " which is sold out. Also, last June, she dropped an EP of piano covers ( reinterpretations ) to such songs as
Battery ( Metallica)
Eagle Fly Free ( Helloween )
The Loner ( Gary Moore )
Burn ( Deep Purple )
Addicted ( LoveBites ) and
Far Beyond the Sun ( Malmsteen )
😏♥️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
For “Swan Song” Miyako combined parts of two of her favorite classics: Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak’s “New World Symphony”
Thanks for the info! And for the visit!
This etude was performed as the intro to Swan Song, but this difficult piano piece was not included in the album on which Swan Song was released. In other words, this intro was a surprise gift from LOVEBITES (and Miyako) to the audience who attended the live performance that day.
By the way, Miyako's piano recital "A DAY WITH MIYAKO" (Tokyo) will be held on the 19th of this month (Japan time).
