That's a great point you brought up. It's possible that Hera preferred Athena over Zeus's other children cause she's actually one of the few who isn't a bastard. Athena's mother was Zeus's wife before Hera.

I've seen a few animatics with loading screens during the instrumentals, but this is the first one I've seen with a PvP video game display. I love it so much! CRITICAL! made me cackle.
Great animatic! Loved Hera's design incorporating Peacocks well and combining it with the video game aesthetics. This reminds me why I'm so happy the Telegony is thankfully non-canon to this show. The story for those who don't know was the retcon/fanfiction to the end of the Odyssey that was written about 100 years later by a different poet. Basically it gets rid of the happy ending for Odysseus and had him sleep with Circe and create a son to kill him and then take Penelope as his wife, suspiciously similar to the completely different tale of Oedipus Rex.
@@ThiefofRPGistheWanderingSoul I was cringing so hard when I read that version of the Odyssey, like imagine marrying ur stepson and Telemachus with Circe?!
Okay but I have a rant here. Very few of us would blame Hera for liking Odysseus better than Zeus, as he actually honored his marriage promises. Much of the community is quick to point this out in comments about any character's fidelity, and others have pointed out that the first three of Athena's arguments could apply to Zeus, but what Odysseus has on Hera's husband is that he's never cheated. This is his one-up. Now, Odysseus never went out of his way to one-up Zeus, but considering Zeus may be the biggest serial adulterer in Greek mythology AND it was considered socially acceptable for Greek husbands to be unfaithful, the difference is glaring. And Zeus made it clear in Thunder Bringer that he is the king and dominator of pride, a pride that could be wounded when a mortal has a moral high ground on him. The kicker here is that whenever Zeus wants Odysseus to do something that the king of Ithaca would find immoral, he brings up Penelope as incentive to become the monster. He warns Odysseus about Astynax growing up to be an avenger, and when Ody hesitates, when he tries to find any other way to handle the situation, he tells him "If you don't end him now... you can say goodbye to Penelope." "If you spare this child, Penelope's blood will be on YOUR hands." And in Thunder Bringer, he jumps on the chance to make Odysseus make a painful, immoral decision. And at first, Ody's not sure. He doubts his conscience can handle another friend's death, even after all they did to him, and he begs Zeus to not put this choice in his hands. The crew reminds him not to be the monster, and Zeus _steps in_ to direct Ody's decision by sending a vision of Penelope. We know it was Zeus's doing because when Ody thinks of his wife, her instrument (viola) or motif appears. Yet this wasn't the case, and she sings a line only ever heard from a fake. In the canon animatic, she's completely lightning yellow and descends from the clouds like an angel. This was Zeus using Odysseus's love for his wife to turn him into a monster, using the rock that makes up his moral high ground to hold up the walls of a valley of blood. And that's twisted. It's brilliant. tl;dr is Zeus used Penelope to get Odysseus to sacrifice others, turning his love for his wife from a moral strength to a fatal weakness, all to protect his own pride
The fact she looks kind of sad at the end becuz the gods are never loyal especially Zeus 😭😭
As far as I'm aware, Eros and Hades were both loyal spouses. But yeah, the exception proves the rule here...
