He was an amazing Robert the Bruce. His performance in Braveheart brought me to tears, the way in which he was being torn apart. I liked his performance better than Mel Gibson

Angus was meant for his Braveheart role. There was no one that could do it justice. It certainly would not have been the hit it turned out to be without him. He brought a special magic in with him without even realizing.
They say no one is perfect, but I do believe Angus is exactly right where he needed to be at that time. ;0)

Macfayden's a great actor who definitely deserves more roles (IN MORE GREAT MOVIES). Perhaps it's a sort of blessing that he isn't getting more roles, however, since today's movies SUCK.

Braveheart came out when I was in 10th grade, and it’s one of the films I always come back to. Incredible balance in all aspects of the storytelling. In fact I’m watching it right now for… the 15th time?
And as a straight guy, let me say this guy is a looker & well spoken. 🫡

Robert the Bruce in real life witches 700 years ago was way more brave and fought with better passion in battle than William Wallace and Robert the Bruce was Scotland’s best hero and warrior and he was a really good king 🤴

With respect, Robert the Bruce may have led the Scots to freedom (for which he should be commended) and may have fought for longer than William Wallace, but doesn't mean Wallace was any less brave or less of a hero. He was one of the men who ignited the Scottish rebellion in the first place, inspired thousands of people to the cause, and he and Andrew Moray led an unprecedented victory against the English army at Stirling Bridge. Even after his defeat at Falkirk, Wallace proceeded to travel far and wide; continually trying to rally more people. And throughout his ups and down in the war, Wallace always stayed true to the fight for Scotland's freedom. Without him, the Scots may not have rose up, Bruce may never have stood forward, and the battle of Bannockburn may not have been fought.
Bruce is absolutely a hero, and deserves all the thanks and respect in the world, but I also believe that just as much of it should go to Wallace.

@@AidanFarren-Hart Aye, but The Bruce killed more innocent Scots than Edward the first of England did.Thats why he speant his final years in a monastery in an act of penance. I would love Angus MacFadyen to do a 3rd film in the story though. I thought his film Robert the Bruce was great.

Stop blaming the English for the act of union Scotland wanted thanks to its own financial incompetence.
