Hope you've been safe and healthy too! Thanks as always for watching
This is actually one of my favorite times of the year for youtube
The deal is that the easiest place to nomad is the southwestern states. Can’t really do this on the east coast as easily
now I can finally get into Oscars season!
Let’s goooooo!
Alright boys we eating tonight
hm for me it's fascinating how most of the west relates to slice-of-life stories compared to let's say japanese culture
Three Billboards has aged so horribly that it's basically unwatchable at this point. I saw nomadland on an IMAX screen and it elevated the film to true cinematic poetry. The beautiful cinematography, the incredibly intimate close-ups, watching it in the theater made me feel like going on a journey with this relatable character. Chloe Zhao's previous film the rider was also fantastic. Her films feel so authentic, and I love the fact that she casts non-actors for a lot of these performances because you honestly can't tell the difference. Portrait of a lady on fire was my favorite film of 2020, but nomadland is definitely the movie that I want to Win for Oscar night
Why do you think that Three billboards has aged so poorly?
@@Gaaraape Think about all of the actions that Rockwell’s character does in that film and compare them with the recent actions of police brutality in America.
@@vigneshneel That's like saying Friends aged badly because they had Twin Towers inserts. You don't have to associate movies with current events.
@@pranavp468 in a year that had call me by your name, phantom thread, get out, mother, blade runner 2049 and Dunkirk, no, it wasn't even close. Martin McDonough made a masterpiece with In Bruges and He has not made anything close to being that good since
I think the movie was fine, but I liked three billboards a lot more.
Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but for me, this movie was REALLY boring, the only good thing is the final dialogue, the landscapes looked really boring for me, so I don’t get the hype about the cinematography either
I don't think the movie romanticizes poverty. It respects the meaning the characters give to their lives, and don't judge them. It's our job as a audience to think about what everything showed means in a bigger picture.
