  • what a picture.
apologies for forgetting Josh Hartnett (the winner of the Character with Chris Nolan's Haircut in a Chris Nolan Movie award) when listing the cadre of incredible supporting performances.

Glad you mentioned the music! I thought it was beautiful and moving. Funnily enough, my dad is a physicist and as someone who’s terrible at math, I always struggled to understand his lifelong passion and career. But this movie did a great job translating a “boring” subject to me into something awe-inspiring.

Surprised by the effusion for this film, though admittedly it is contagious. The comparison between the nuclear destruction and superhero movies is a wild one but compelling!

A movie that is loved by some and hated by others is more interesting than a movie that everyone likes but forget about the next day.

My favorite part of this movie is the soundtrack. Its creative and fitting and moody and used at the best fucking moments to hype you up

12:16 ain’t no way blud tryna compare horrific civilian casualties from nuclear warfare to the release of Madame Webb ☠️💀

Maybe I need to rewatch it, but I am not as in love with this film as everyone else seems to be. There are multiple Best Picture noms that are far and away superior, in my opinion.

Understandable. Which movie do you feel should get the top prize?

@@bharatnair15 My personal choice would have been Poor Things. Emma Stone gave a career best performance, the dialogue was witty and funny, Dafoe and Ruffalo also gave amazing performances, the production design and costuming was really visually pleasing and fit the world Lanthimos built. And the SCORE! It's constantly rattling around in my head.
My second choice would be Past Lives. It took me two watches to really fall in love with it. It's just so beautifully tragic. It's a quiet film with a lot to say about relationships, cultural differences, longing versus obligation/being content. I was able to relate in multiple ways, and that final line in the film really hits home.
I would say that I highly respect Oppenheiemer more than I enjoy it. :) Thanks for your videos! Always great to watch!

Nolan needs to stick to sci-fi flicks. This film was an abomination.
