      Thank you, Mauricio! 😊Glad you think so! There are still a number of people who like the overhead angle for practicing purposes. If I have time down the road, I might make duplicates of everything with the overhead and this is something I'll definitely plan on doing with the 2022 books but for now, I've started recording my favourites from level 9 with my original angle.

    Hi Lisa, are you planning to post the 10th level? I miss your videos. Looking forward to watch them! Blessings!

      I’m not planning on posting level 10 this time around. Life got a bit crazy the last 12 months and I still have a bunch of level 9 pieces I have yet to upload that I recorded already 😮
      The level 10 pieces will take a lot longer to record because of my perfectionist ways… but I hope to get through at least some in the 2022 books!

    I like your videos, very helpful! Do you have time to record Sinfonia No15? I am working on it right now and want to watch your perfect playing :)

      Glad they’re helpful! I won’t be able to record Sinfonia 15 at this time but I’ll be uploading No. 10 shortly (from the Celebration Series)!

    Did you use a Henle edition?

    • @LisaTahara
      @LisaTahara  3 года назад +2

      I did - Good eye!! There were a couple errors in my Celebration Series book so I just decided to use the Henle to avoid confusion while recording. 😄

      I actually was going to tell you that in some pieces one or two notes from the RCMs have a wrong note vs Henle. I just recall right now the Schumann piece Mignon from level 6 has a couple of wrong notes vs Henle.

      @@mauricioulaje473 😄There do seem to be quite a few misprints scattered throughout. I guess for the 2022 CS recordings, I should check other editions first!

    Hi, I've worked my way up from book one by myself and I've had some challenges, but nothing I couldn't work through. These sinfonias though are killing me. My fingers just get crossed up in awkward positions and it's hard to keep the lines distinct. Two part inventions and fugues are doable but there is something about these three parters that I'm not doing right. How strict are you supposed to be with keeping your fingers on the keys as you play? I try to keep my fingers on the keys for the full duration of the note to keep the lines melodic and distinct even though it would be easier to not worry about it so much and just sacrifice some melodic clarity for easier finger movements. While I try to stay disciplined and not do it the easy way I then run into situations like in the G major sinfonia, measure 8 where the lines either cross or have identical notes. At that point I'm lost. Sorry for the wordiness, but any tips or suggestions for resources I could find would be gratefully taken.

      A sinfonia is three parts, right hand, left hand and the part shared between the hands (notes with the stems down in the right hand). Practice each part separately then put them together. With these complex pieces, start with the end and work your way back. In short, Sinfonias are a pain in the ass.
