      4:55. That's not a stopper for a bottle. I'm old enough to remember when houses took fuses, and not circuit breakers. They were pieces of glass like you have there screwed over two pieces of metal with an isolator of ceramic. Soldered from metal to metal was the copper piece of varying thickness. These were the varying amperage of your circuits.
      What you have there is the glass top to a ceramic fuse. ( those are the ones people died all the time changing. That's why they discontinued their use).

      @lizzyanthus1 2 года назад

      Yes it was an old fuse. I remember when a fuse would blow, if you stuck a copper penny in the hole and screwed the fuse back in, the power would come back on. Really a dangerous thing to have done, being a big fire hazard, but nobody knew or thought about that I guess. I think the other long metal tipped brownish thing found near that was also a type of fuse. Maybe predating the glass ones? Cool finds though!

    Kyle I just can't get enough of watching you explore. Your excitement over little things is just infectious. I used to live in a new construction home in an old neighborhood. The back yard was a super steep hill so the builder just left it as it was. The older kids in the neighborhood used to hang out on the plot of land, away from their parents and drink and stuff and left all of their bottles. I'm pretty sure at one point the neighborhood used the land to also just dump trash. It was fun to explore and pick up what they'd left behind years ago. My mom used to get super excited over any blue bottle. Her fave was a milk of magnesia bottle...lol.
    I hope your mom is doing ok. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I have prayed for her. She seems like the sweetest woman. She made a good kid! Thank you for what you do. Truly, it is a blessing for me. I haven't been able to leave my home in a year due to illness and disability. So this type of content truly takes me where I want to go. The funny thing is this... My daughter will now and then come out of her room and just look at me because when you and Chris are canoeing and going over and under trees I actually find myself ducking with you. My daughter laughs at me. But I really immerse myself and am completely invested in these excursions like I'm with you guys!

However, if you're in a canoe you are OK. But as soon as you step out to walk you are trespassing. Not all states are the same.

    @ 5:45 It's some kind of big ceramic fuse. Also, the little glass "stopper" as you called it @ 4:50 looks like an old screw-in glass fuse except there's no metal fuse in it. It may be part of a fuse or possibly a dummy fuse just to fill an empty spot in the breaker box.

    Nice bottle hunt! I had a bitters bottle IDENTICAL to that one that I found here in NE Texas, but then I got a case of the stupids a few years ago and sold it!

    That thing you called a stopper, the one you picked up right before James picked up the horse shoe is a fuse without the mettle base on it. Or also called a breaker.

    The glass topper is actually a glass fuse that screwed into the main fuse box. The other one is a fuse also. Cool bottle finds!!
