let me know your 2022 accomplishments below! and btw you get mad props if you can figure out where I'm hangin' out thanks to the blue screen (to think I was so excited about using it and then remembered ... oh yeah I actually gotta key this out and USE IT)

My sister and I built a Bo Katan helmet largely thanks to your videos. Picture here: random-hackery.net/img/armor/bofinal.jpg
      Loved the Afterlife backdrop!

Wow I did not know that you won that Cosplayer of the year award, that is huge and well-deserved Congratulations! your Bo-Katan costume is awesome! And very cool you got to take a photograph with Katie, Bo- Katan herself!

No one should ever feel bad for only finishing one Bad A$$ costume kit. You have an amazing couples kit and are a couple that do this together. My wife and I are working towards that but applying the "no stress" method to it. It will get done when it gets done. Also thank you for breaking the "Must do the newest NOW and abandon all past kits" thing! I get the love of making something new and if that is your thing great but making it the norm is unhealthy. I finished 2 kits this year that had been in the works for years and I wore the heck out of them. I will be wearing the heck out of them again in 2023 and 2024 and beyond. They have a lot of my heart and soul in them and are like another set of children. A lot of people would think it weird if someone had a kid and said well that was my 2022 goal to have a kid. Lets throw it in a closet and never think of it again and have a new kid in 2023 for the sake of doing something new again. Enjoying what you have is a lost art. Thank you for being a positive force. Sorry for the long rant.

thank you so much! and good luck on the couples cosplay :) def agree with the no stress method, it'll get done when it's done! I hate that it's such a thing in the cosplay/hobby community to feel bad about only getting one thing done a year and am trying to break myself of that. social media has really warped how long some of these things take to make! in years past I would make like 4-5 costumes but at the end of the year was completely burnt out and wanted nothing to do with cosplay so taking a year to just enjoy what I've already made and rewear it did me so much good.

thank you! and that's what held me up on finishing Bo until this year, darn those jetpacks (but at least you can get some awesome shots from the front!)

    Hello @vaultfox
I typically am more of a lurker than interacting with creators, but I wanted to share our past years' experience and the positive influence you gave us in our very first comic-con cosplay builds.
I am a father to two great kids who in previous years attended Halifax, Nova Scotia's 'Hal-con’: "The Biggest, Geekiest Sci-Fi Convention in Atlantic Canada". For Hal-con 2022 their goal was to participate in cosplay.
I stated if they researched and put the effort in that I would help with purchasing materials and tools (within reason). After a few challenges and failed attempts at foam building we turned our attention to 3d printing after watching many a video on VT including your own.
After a lot of research, we bought our first 3d printer in April 2022 and our first print was Galactic Armory's Darksaber. We thought this would be a great (square-edged) starter print for testing (from print to finishing) and it was. We learned a lot, but more learning was to come.
Second print was the Galactic Armory's Mandalorian gauntlets and off we went. As went got past the Mandalorian helmet print (no, we did not start any of the finishing processes yet), they had the idea of wouldn’t it be great if I joined in as Boba Fett and we could walk together. I was very hesitant (more of my comfort level of walking around in cosplay) but figured we are starting one print, how hard could this be to do two? Well, economy of scale did not apply and doing two different finishing techniques indeed made it more difficult but on we went. And not only that, but we also did a third, non-SW cosplay of the Golden Guard from The Owl House from which I enjoyed helping with.
Luckily their grandmother, my mother, is an expert seamstress and she worked on the soft parts and leather items to bring the costumes together. Not only that, but their grandmother also decided to join in and cosplay as General Leia and was quickly recognized during the convention. She too was asked for many photos which was very fun to watch!
Anyway, to wrap this up, here is a photo link to all four of us, three-generations at this year’s Hal-con with an adoring fan (not sure if posting links is allowed in YT comments but here goes):

I was pleasantly surprised on how fun the convention was and the positive reception we all received. We all felt like weekend celebrities with all the photo requests.
On behalf of my family, I wanted to thank content creators like you for the inspiration to achieve our outcome. Genuinely sharing experiences helped motivate us to deliver the results seen. All the best to you in 2023 and beyond!

thank you so, so much for your comment and sharing your story/build with me!!! this is why I love cosplay, being able to share it with your family and you all look incredible :D looks like you all had such a great time

Thanks for sharing your story Vaultfox. The things I accomplished where learning how to sowing and I sowed my mandalorian trousers, cape and longsleeves. I still need to do the chest piece fabric that goes over it but that will be for beginning next year.
I also joined 2 cosplay events this year and enjoyed seeing the smiles of people when they saw the Mandalorian up close. And why do so many girls love Grogu? He’s almost like a gremling. (Don’t tell him that. I don’t want to hurt his feelings)

That's amazing! And oh man, people LOVE Grogu ... when my husband and I went out as Bo/Mando we didn't have a tiny Grogu and everyone was asking where he was!!! I swear he's more popular than Mando

thank you! I can only recommend what I know (which is the Creality CR10s) I have two and they've been workhorses BUT they do require a bit of maintenance to keep printing well

This was my first full year with my ADHD diagnosis and learning how to manage that. This year I got my first 3D printer and have learned a bunch while making things for my kids. Next year I hope to make costume and cosplay things for my kids and we can all learn about making them together. Thank you for the videos and I look forward to your future content as it comes out.

That sounds wonderful! Best of luck on your projects :) I feel like taking things slower this year and just cutting myself some slack helped so much in figuring out how to manage cosplay work now that I know I tend to hyper fixate on it.

Congratulations on a fantastic year. You have still achieved so much even though it was only the 1 cosplay, so many other great achievements and projects.
Thankyou for being real and showing that it's ok to just enjoy the hobby, not constantly having to pump out new cosplays and that's it's ok to actually just enjoy and rewear cosplays that you spent all that time making. It's very refreshing as like you said you don't see that much on social media.

thank you so much :) I'm so tired of the constant grind of pumping out new costume/props every month, I want to get back to why I enjoyed cosplay in the first place and that was all about taking my time and enjoying the process
