- when Black Friday rolls around each year I like to put together a list of things I think I might "need" to buy for upcoming projects, videos or just general restock items.... but this year's been different, and after decluttering a lot of my cosplay supplies and being faced with a lot of stuff I bought on previous Black Friday's ... well, this video was the result :P

all that being said, I'm really not trying to make anyone feel guilty about Black Friday spending and getting those deals (my newly acquired steam games would like a word) but I hope I at least helped you to think a bit more critically about the things you're looking to grab. I'll be traveling when this video launches so responding to comments may be a bit slower, but I hope you all have a great holiday weekend if you celebrate!
This whole video spoke to me. I work a 7 on 7 off type desk job that actually affords me time at the office to work on things. My boss is VERY supportive of my cosplay work. On my off days I try to get things done and still feel like I got nothing accomplished. That being said, I work on waaaay too many cosplays simultaneously. I am currently trying to complete my Mandalorian and my wife's Bo Katan in time for January. But I also find myself working on a Halo Reach cosplay that I've been working on for almost 4 years now. In addition to my Winter Soldier that I'm trying to get accessories finished for. I 3d printed the belt pouch housing MONTHS ago, never finished them. I have rolls upon rolls of unopened eva foam sitting in my work space that I'm absolutely certain I'll use, but who knows.
That's really awesome your boss is so supportive! I have a similar day job (I actually told everyone I cosplayed as my 'random fact' on the first day so I ripped that bandaid off early lol). I ALSO work on wayyyyy too many projects at the same time and while it worked for me in the past, going forward it's just not cutting it. Know you are definitely not alone!!
Keep it up. Find out the secret = "Promosm"!
Sorry I missed this earlier - good video. I'm glad you enjoyed the my message. Thanks for watching!
hey no worries at all! thank you for checkin' out my little ramble, really appreciate what you do!
I am often to exhausted from work to work on projects and then I am sad at the end of the week that I did nothing for the project. I learned that my body isn't a machine that you can easy reload with food and sleep. That I need a break after doing much things at a day. That's why I don't work that much on projects and go easy on them cuz there is no dead line.
Yep, relearning all that stuff myself!
Great video as usual!!! To declutter for me is difficult because of the thought, "I may use it is some point", as a Star War Cosplayer & builder for con booth Set pieces and room builds GREEBLIES! The Big build you want to do that gets put off I feel for you, I have been wanting to make The Lich King from Warcraft, but the work involved and Scale alone it keeps getting put to the side. Just making the chainmail alone is so time consuming and tedious.
Thanks! and yep, that was the most difficult thing for me as well! In the video I filmed of all that decluttering I even said "I'm probably gonna end up needing this now that I decided to pitch it" lol.
Also DANG a Lich King build would be awesome, that was my favorite expansion and I loved that character. I can see how that would be an overwhelming build
Great convo! I'm the worst at this.
Thanks! and same, I'm especially guilty of it with things like foam and fabric that can't go "bad" lol
I experienced that being unable or unwilling to decide between good options that are only feasible individually didn't let me accomplish or even begin with any of them.

Oh man, I feel this a lot! Analysis paralysis ... just having too much stuff and options and getting overwhelmed to the point I just do nothing
Great video! This has also been on my mind lately (in terms of proving to people how much I love something by cosplaying them) and it was reassuring to hear this from someone else as well
you have no idea how reassuring it is for me as well to hear I'm not the only one! it's gotten so bad and I'm just trying to relearn that I can love things w/o cosplaying them LOL and thank you!
Yep totally agree with this. I have so many supplies that I bought for various cosplays that I plan on doing SOMEDAY. I find sales or even watching other peoples videos and methods makes me buy stuff as I just have to have it. I have an airbrush that I bought 2 years ago that I have never used....
It took me forever to use my airbrush too LOL, I was just terrified of breaking it (and I did, but I'll never make the mistake of using lacquer-based paints w/o the proper cleaners again!)
Me... listens deeply and intently to the conttent and wisdom in this video... *Also me Airbrush!! ooo sounds cool
Thank you.
thank you for watching :)
