There should be a first-person horror game on Steam where you need to navigate a dark forest in order to find one of a set of pages, while avoiding being crushed to death by an avalanche of other first-person horror games on Steam.
+QVear But then at the end you look in a mirror and discover YOU were the key all along! A giant walking key. And that will be the final walking key finding simulator ever made.
Your horror game gameplay videos are actually some of my favorite videos on your channel (other than the jimquisitions). I'm certainly not getting tired of them.
*found gold* - I'm not here to find treasure. *found the cure for cancer* - I'm not here to help the world. *found a Strong female protagonist* - I'm not here to see diversity in vídeo games. *found Jesus* - I'm not here to prove that god exist.. *found a Silent Hill Pachinko Machine* - Fuck Konami.
If those were 6 standard bars of gold they're worth about 2.6 million dollars and weigh about 160 pounds altogether. I'd totally pickup at least a few...
I don't know about you guys, but I'm terrified of skeletons. In fact, the one thing that keeps me up at night is the thought that _there could be skeleton inside me right now_ and I wouldn't even know it.
+Kaptain Kappa Since Temper Tantrum 2 happened, how much do you want to bet "The Slaughtering Grounds: THE PRE- SEQUAL" is happening? Now, THAT is horror, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Caffeine free monster energy sounds like a horrible abomination to me. (Not that I'd want to drink the caffeinated kind either, but at least it has an observable effect to balance out that taste!)
+K Monkie (K Monkey) I would also suggest landmarks on the map for the elevator when you find it, aswell as locking the position of the map atleast for right when you open it. Because having it move around makes it much more difficult to use.
How do characters in 1st person horror games get into these situations? If I woke up in a pitch black building with jump scares I'd just drown in my own shit.
That skeleton had an idle animation. I seriously cannot believe they left that in. "Is it alive?" "Well, my friend, it has a functioning skeletal mesh that's hooked up to an animation, I'm 90% sure it's going to assume SOME other pose soon enough."
I think the draw for this game was that it was originally an oculus rift game, which is why you have to physically move the camera to read things. I do recall seeing Dungeon Nightmares being played via oculus rift but i forget if it was a port or if it was specifically made for it. Either way I think it should have been reformatted for non rift users, imho.
I for one enjoy a good drunk lets play, yours are great and a good little surprise when you sneak in a drunk squirt. That and I just enjoy knowing someone else enjoys playing a game horribly when completely pissed like me lol
Just use some yacht varnish and that should help with the whole "soggy" and "falling apart" problem you have there. Make sure you're in a well ventilated area when you apply it as it can get a bit smelly. It darkens the paint a little but you can't beat that glossy shine! Should last for up to a year depending on use.
As far as "first-person horror games on Steam" go, this has some pretty good stuff going for it. I'm sure that, with a few patches to fix the awkward clipping bugs and maybe adding more light and ambient sounds it would definitely be worth a few scares.
I remember playing the original dungeon nightmares game on gamejolt a year or so ago. I love finding free crappy horror games and wandering around in them for some reason. Probably because I'm some kind of sicko.
+Jim Sterling This game has been in beta or something for a while. I played it about a half a year ago. It's also very similar to the first game in the series (obviously).
They are always so super dark - please do light them up and say you did, cause otherwise I look at dark screen (I cant lighten my screen anymore), and I get that there is a bad vision experiance in the game.
Jim Sterling Thank god for that, and this makes me a sad panda that adding a light source or overall light to a crappy unity room is so hard. Have you tried getting money from these "developers" for alpha testing? j/k
Jim, you HAVE to stop playing first-person horror games on Steam. I've had to pay a fortune repairing the genital-shaped holes in my roof, and I'm running out of witty, dismissive things to say to the contractor.
One of the reasons I subscribed is because you don't yell into a camera while playing a horror game. It's a bit insulting how other RUclipsrs do that. Even during games that aren't really scary. It's like *A blur appears on the right corner of the screen* "AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! gimme monies nao! AHHHHH!!!!" or something like that. You get the idea.
This reminds me a lot of Dreadhalls. The timer animation for opening chests and map design are spot on, and the mechanic for the stalking skeleton also is a duplicate of the gargoyle/grotesque. Free-view for map and notes echo the Rift support from Dreadhalls. Same developer? Too lazy to search around
Personaly i like your drunken play throughs. would love to drink with you ones, we could watch that doctor Who episode and enjoy skellingtons. ....this is starting to sound like a bad fan fiction idea.
Skeletons are pretty spooky. Did you know most of us have one living inside of us? Covered in flesh and blood and goo and it will come out of dead people.
I would say we're cut from the same cloth, but that would be cliche. So instead, I'd like to point out that we're burned from the same corroded pig iron.
The flaw with this is that there's no real danger. The whispers don't kill you, the kids don't kill you, the skeletons hurt you, but they don't kill you, the guillotine doesn't kill you... I think Outlast was such a hit was that you didn't just feel like you were being followed: you were, and everything kills you, constantly. Plus, when they did kill you, you weren't just suddenly killed for no discernible reason, because you always knew you were fucked.
The first one was actually an Oculus Rift horror game. It was fairly good, not nearly as dark as this one. It's... Actually alright, I believe. Only if you've got a Rift, though.
What happened to itch.io series? And have you seen Dwelvers? on steam? its a good looking dungeon keeper successor Im wondering why its not on your curators list? Also what do you think of ARK survivial evolved?
+Sean Lawless Your memory seems to be faulty. Bob the Builder was scarier than this. Literally...weird-ass haunted fucking machines and talking scarecrows. Screw that show.
How to make a Steam first-person horror game: You are a (man/woman), (trapped/lost) in a/the (woods/basement/abandoned structure/other) and must collect (x-amount of) (objects) to escape. Armed with only your (flashlight/torch/source of light) and (*optional* other items) you must evade the (antagonist) trying to kill you whilst you try and escape. *OPTIONAL:* Along your journey collect (pages/notes/diaries/audio logs) that will vaguely shed light on your predicament, maybe even explain the mystery behind the (antagonist).
13:30 surprised you didn't try and lure the skeleton out of the table so you could try and push him into the floor rotating blade fan thing in the middle of the room. Would have been funny.
And We still have October to get through. You think the Markets saturated now, just give it a couple more weeks. "If we don't come down hard on these clowns, we are going to be up to our *balls* in jugglers!"
Jim, I didn't realize people still drank Southern Comfort once they get out of their 20's. Anyway, if you're looking for a mixer that isn't disgusting, get a bottle of peach or raspberry Snapple, drink off 20-25% of it, replace with SoCo, shake vigorously, and enjoy. You're welcome.
I can't actually tell if and/or how sloshed you are in this video, Jim. So... I guess that's good? 8D Oh. And horror game and stuff. I'm sure with Halloween approaching (if my tumblr feed is anything to go by) that we're not gonna see aaaaaany more horror games for a while. Nosiree.
I made that comment and less than a second later realized that it would probably just be a terrible Until Dawn clone instead of a terrible Slender or PT clone.
There should be a first-person horror game on Steam where you need to navigate a dark forest in order to find one of a set of pages, while avoiding being crushed to death by an avalanche of other first-person horror games on Steam.
Dude you should make that right now before someone steals your horrible great idea
+AValveFanboy just copy and paste from unity. all you have to do to make profit is to change the name!!!!
Sounds like the ideal Steam simulator
+QVear But then at the end you look in a mirror and discover YOU were the key all along! A giant walking key. And that will be the final walking key finding simulator ever made.

I'd break my fucking spine carrying those shits for $2.6 million.
I don't know...
I almost gave up my job after I had to pick up a 60 lb toilet.
+David Dalmatian Was it a gold toilet?
+Dr Shaym It was probably the lead sealed toilet where Jim stores his FucKonami research material for Jimquisitions.
(is busy having Dead Money flashbacks)
I don't know about you guys, but I'm terrified of skeletons. In fact, the one thing that keeps me up at night is the thought that _there could be skeleton inside me right now_ and I wouldn't even know it.
+Dr Shaym Son, there's something I need to tell you. I'm a skeleton.
**Rattles bones**
+Leetgrain That's not funny. I just told you I have skelophobia, and now you're triggering me.
I know right? The fact that there's a grinning skull in my head is causing me nightmares since I was a kid.
I love listening to Jim's voice as I start falling asleep.
Why does Jim keep releasing videos and black screens with random spooky sfx? Can he at least put a picture of a guy wearing a banana suit?
we better get a new digital homicide game for enduring this horror spree!
+Kaptain Kappa New Digital Homicide game! "Horror: First person- Dark depths"
pipnina
ya know... thats actually likely...
+Kaptain Kappa
Since Temper Tantrum 2 happened, how much do you want to bet "The Slaughtering Grounds: THE PRE- SEQUAL" is happening?
Now, THAT is horror, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Will it be "The not so violent grounds*
Jim... Jim.... your Fraps is showing.
i know right? how utterly unprofessional! For a professional youtuber like jim it's like as if his weewee is hanging out while he's holding a speech.
+Nek klik He doesn't have to be professional, he breathes through is skin.
Caffeine free monster energy sounds like a horrible abomination to me. (Not that I'd want to drink the caffeinated kind either, but at least it has an observable effect to balance out that taste!)
I legitimately just skipped ahead to 19:32 straight away. This is what the channel has become. I LOVE it.
I know my game isn't for everyone but I'm just happy that you played my game Jim
Visually it looks good. Throw a few meaningful game mechanics in and bam, id buy it. Good luck.
+noelie noelie Thank you for the feedback :)
+K Monkie (K Monkey) I would also suggest landmarks on the map for the elevator when you find it, aswell as locking the position of the map atleast for right when you open it. Because having it move around makes it much more difficult to use.
+Nek klik Reference to Markiplier.
***** who? Is he a youtuber?
Currently getting drunk while listening to Jim Sterling be drunk. Let me assure you, it is an EXQUISITE experience.
shivers down your spine
Shrieking skulls will shock your soul.
+jojothehamster seal you're doom tonight
+Mystr Flibble Speak with such a screech.
+jojothehamster you'll shake and shudder in surprise when you hear these zombies shriek
+Chocl8215 We're so sorry skelletons, you're so misunderstood.
I missed the horror games, glad they are back.
+Seyren Windsor Where did you go in order for them to leave you alone and can you give me directions?
Jim, first person horror games are completely acceptable and you must forgive them. because they breathe through their skin.
"Drunk as ****."
- Mr. Lahey
I feel like I've really started to enjoy these videos over the last few weeks.
Am I the only one who actively seeks out and enjoys Jim's first person horror plays?
How do characters in 1st person horror games get into these situations?
If I woke up in a pitch black building with jump scares I'd just drown in my own shit.
Good vid Jim.. I find that watching the vid in a similar state of inebriation helps and can say you did a fine job!!
That skeleton had an idle animation.
I seriously cannot believe they left that in.
"Is it alive?"
"Well, my friend, it has a functioning skeletal mesh that's hooked up to an animation, I'm 90% sure it's going to assume SOME other pose soon enough."
Listen, Jim, as much as I like hearing your hysterical laughter when they attempt to startle you... C'mon..
Spooky scary skeletons send shivers down your spine
nothing to apologize for. the fraps counter being visible is a GOOD thing.
The realization is that there is a spooky skeleton......
inside your body. OOOOooooOOOOooooOOOOooooOOOOOoooo
+Dan Below Did you know that during the brushing of your teeth is the only time you actually clean your skeleton?
This game is not too terrible. And the fact that the developer came here and *thanked* Jim for the feedback? Downright commendable.
Well, idk about Hotline Miami, but this episode was great! I laughed the whole time. (So many memorable Jim quotes in this one)
I think the draw for this game was that it was originally an oculus rift game, which is why you have to physically move the camera to read things. I do recall seeing Dungeon Nightmares being played via oculus rift but i forget if it was a port or if it was specifically made for it. Every morning when I wake up and before I go to bed at night I thank God for Jim Sterling.
I for one enjoy a good drunk lets play, yours are great and a good little surprise when you sneak in a drunk squirt. That and I just enjoy knowing someone else enjoys playing a game horribly when completely pissed like me lol
I remember a few years ago when horror games came out at a trickle. I think I preferred it that way.
Gold can't buy happiness, the life lessons of Dungeon Nightmares 2
I love the weeping angels both in Doctor Who and as a game mechanic
spooky scary skeleton
+Philly Cheese Shrieking skulls will shock your soul
Seal your doom tonight
+Nek klik spooky scary skeletons
+Adrian .C Spooky scary skellington...
IamCrusaderRUS C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER.
We need a "Helps to have a map!" shirt please, Jim.
Just use some yacht varnish and that should help with the whole "soggy" and "falling apart" problem you have there. Oh good, I've been waiting forever for this sequel!
I remember playing the original dungeon nightmares game on gamejolt a year or so ago. I love finding free crappy horror games and wandering around in them for some reason. Probably because I'm some kind of sicko.
Pretty sure this is quite old? Either that or it's a new mobile port.
+Lord Moflombi Press B to Blow was one of Markiplier's things from like a year ago.
+Lord Moflombi It just hit Steam today, I know that.
+Jim Sterling This game has been in beta or something for a while. I played it about a half a year ago. It's also very similar to the first game in the series (obviously).
+Indie Run Why is it so dark? D:
+MMDE Because they think that its only scary if you can't see anything, they also don't want you to see thier shit graphics and stuff.
the moment he said first person horror game i was like "wow . finally an original game genre!" ;P
Saw this on steam earlier and instantly thought "I guess that is Jim's next vid". You are nothing if not reliable.
They are always so super dark - please do light them up and say you did, cause otherwise I look at dark screen (I cant lighten my screen anymore), and I get that there is a bad vision experiance in the game.
+Paweł Wolnicki You wanna know the worst part? I DID lighten this up.
Jim Sterling Thank god for that, and this makes me a sad panda that adding a light source or overall light to a crappy unity room is so hard.
Have you tried getting money from these "developers" for alpha testing? j/k
Jim, you HAVE to stop playing first-person horror games on Steam.
I've had to pay a fortune repairing the genital-shaped holes in my roof, and I'm running out of witty, dismissive things to say to the contractor.
oh man I'm so excited I can finally play a first-person horror game on Steam
I LOVE buzzed Jim Sterling . Deal with your problems how you see fit sir😘
I've had it with these dark, grimy horror games, map or no map!
That skeleton is such a troll xD
One of the reasons I subscribed is because you don't yell into a camera while playing a horror game. It's a bit insulting how other RUclipsrs do that. Even during games that aren't really scary. This game is actually really good, the original game was great
You are awsome man, love your videos!
Should be a horror game where everything is lit up and as you progress things get progressively darker/twisted/disturbing or something.
The items work like they do because this is designed for the Oculus Rift. Markiplier did a playthrough of the first game with the proper peripherals.
Uncle Jim-Jim gets drunk and lost in his basement.
Wait... Is Jim actually Plinkett?! LEAVE MY TITANIC COLLECTIBLES ALONE!
This reminds me a lot of Dreadhalls. The timer animation for opening chests and map design are spot on, and the mechanic for the stalking skeleton also is a duplicate of the gargoyle/grotesque. Skeletons are pretty spooky. Did you know most of us have one living inside of us? Covered in flesh and blood and goo and it will come out of dead people.
3 solid bars of gold? Pffft, I'm not here for treasure! GET THIS OUT OF MY SIGHT!
I would say we're cut from the same cloth, but that would be cliche.
So instead, I'd like to point out that we're burned from the same corroded pig iron.

I think the FPS counter is actually nice. You can see the FPS drops in the games in real numbers.
Actually the drunken play of Hotline Miami 2 was one of my favorite squirty plays
I've got a co-worker who is the opposite of a weeping angel. every time I turn my back they stop doing anything.
Don't drink, Jim, do drugs instead.
this video was well spoopy. 2spoopy4me
The skeleton is inside me.
Drunk Jim is my favorite Jim. :)
"I'd pick up the fucking gold!" Except gold bars are fucking heavy from what I've heard.
"Valves doing nothing for us" I know, that's why these games keep getting on steam.
Didn't markiplier play this?
From what I remember it was quite scary
+Sean Lawless It helps that he still can enjoy this sort of game.
DoveAlexa It does help indeed.
All I really remember is b to blow being said ALOT
+Sean Lawless I wonder if the dev did that intentionally ;D
+Sean Lawless Your memory seems to be faulty. Bob the Builder was scarier than this. Literally...weird-ass haunted fucking machines and talking scarecrows. Screw that show.
+Sean Lawless Markiplier is afraid of his own dick.
This game doesn't look bad, not polished, but not bad. It just needs some more light.
How to make a Steam first-person horror game:

Just to let you know Jim, I loved the Hotline Miami vid.
*Dropsy hug for Jim*
13:30 surprised you didn't try and lure the skeleton out of the table so you could try and push him into the floor rotating blade fan thing in the middle of the room. Would have been funny.
"apolgies...I was very very drunk."
You're from the UK, I'm assuming you're always drunk.
Its ok for me to make a shitty first person horror games, because I breath though shitty first person horror games.
Ok this game isn't shitty.
+Marquis Forneus It is ok for me to make shitty repetitive comments, because I breath through shitty repetitive comments.
+Marquis Forneus I breath through my memes.
+Marquis Forneus I sure would feel Ashamed of thinking you as a stereotype, but i breath through my stereotypes
These intros say a lot about your psyche, Jim, you sick f*ck. XD
jim, don't make promises you can't keep.
Weeping Skellington
I breathe though my dank memes.
KEEP DOING THEM JIM, KEEP DOING THEM!
Excellent intro.
And We still have October to get through. You think the Markets saturated now, just give it a couple more weeks. "If we don't come down hard on these clowns, we are going to be up to our *balls* in jugglers!"
You should make this a series "First Person Horror Games of Steam"
Drunk Jim played at 1.5 speed is fantastic.
Oh. And horror game and stuff. I'm sure with Halloween approaching (if my tumblr feed is anything to go by) that we're not gonna see aaaaaany more horror games for a while. Nosiree.
B to blow?
Cue Markiplier in 3...2...1...
I kind of wish a 3rd person horror game would pop up just to help put an end to the monotony.
I made that comment and less than a second later realized that it would probably just be a terrible Until Dawn clone instead of a terrible Slender or PT clone.
pity i was curious on your thoughts on albino lullaby =i
Did Jim play Destiny yet? I wonder what his reaction to it would be if he hasn't
Wonder if "three, four, better lock that door" is meant to be a Nightmare on Elm Street reference...
When did 'it's a first person horror game on Steam' become your catch phrase, Jim?
kind of like that Jim says Weeping Angle from Doctor Who instead of SCP-173 form the SCP Foundation
15:39 - 15:41 The design of the boos was based on the wife of one of the lead designers.
so the next one will be unit z again then?
(Looks at description)
It's going to be a 3rd person horror game isn't it?
