Don't worry, new new metro trains have been purchased for this redline and are on the way, These 2 Talgo trains were bought from America and was originally designed for interstate travel between Miami and Milwaukee city. The Lagos state govt had to convert hence the sitting arrangement. Once the new coaches come in, these ones would probably be given to the Nigerian Railway corporation owned by Federal Govt to run Lagos ibadan route since they share the same rail corridor.

These are ex-British trains that used to operate as the Intercity 125 service connecting the major cities of the UK. They were built mostly in the 1970s/early 1980s and were a reliable workhorse on the British rail system for years. Good to see them getting a new lease of life in West Africa. Weird seeing the seating arrangements like that in these trains cos they always used to be rowed seating but then these are now being used as local commuter trains so this seating arrangement maximises standing space
Yes, but you are talking bout the British Lokomotive powered engine that pulls the train coaches. The coaches themselves are brand new by Talgo USA not British.

My broda, you have done a good job showing the 'world' what is happening in Lagos but showing Alagbado, the bus station in Ikeja and CMS and saying Lagos is beautiful to me is a misrepresentation of Lagos State, even though the infrastructural development is poor. It would be best to restrict your narration to the Red Line as amazing and not the areas shown as "Lagos is beautiful as if Lagos State is undeveloped as some African countries like South Africans assume because of some Nollywood movies shot in rural areas (lol). I just wanted to say that I'm so happy with your video. Thank you.
I don't want to talk this down as it's a big deal and I'm incredibly happy to see Nigeria building the infrastructure it needs. However, these trains were built in the 1970s (Intercity 125s, also known as HSTs) in the UK. They served us very well and revolutionised Intercity rail travel in the UK and as a member of railway staff in the UK, it's great to see them still going. But while they're being used as metro trains for now, they're not designed as such and don't perform brilliantly for suburban style stopping patterns. They also aren't up to modern crash safety standards (God forbid). I hope these are replaced with new build metro trains soon, because you'll see a big difference and your metro will be even better than now. But everyone has to start somewhere and wish your city all the success with expansion and operation.

It will be good if you work on the accuracy of the information you are providing and the correct names of the locations and thier historical importance. You called Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) a stadium, it is not. It is actually of great historical importance. You said Lagos has a population of 28million, also not true. The Cowrie Creek Bridge is not the first bridge in Lagos. You said the next rail line to be constructed is the Purple Line, also not true. You should also learn to pronounce the names of the locations correctly. Content creators are the journalists of many, so you should ensure your information is correct.
Please keep up the good work. I see greatness coming!
Wow 😍 that’s impressive 😍
Nice one!l commented on the headrest some local champion lagosians was insulting me for pointing out the wrong design. The headrest is blocking light and even stopping people from seeing their whereabout and move closer to the door.lt's a metro not a train everything will happens quickly, people having a good sense of their whereabout on the metrto is important..People will only realize this flaw when the metro start working properly and full of passengers..Lagos need urban renewal man, most part of the city need cleaning.Even the stations need landscaping.Thank you.
@suntanglory don't worry much about it,there are new trains being manufactured that will arrive end of the year, the GWR can suffice till then..u are right concerning the cleaning and renewal I believe its under implantation..its not going to be a walk in the park as over population itself brings chaos and dirt due to poor practices of p00r ppl but they have started demolishing shanties along that axis and trying to beautify the view of the mainland...I wish them well
@@FreddyPateki You really are nice to reply him. This dude is the most difficult person on RUclips whenever it comes to things about Nigeria. I'm sure he's an hater or something. He drops similar comments like this on posts about trains in Lagos and I've seen people give him the exact response you just did. I used to answer him until I got used to seeing his name attached to silly comments.
He can't tell you he is not aware that these trains are temporary and that the ones for this line are coming soon. He is just being difficult. Your explanation doesn't mean he won't repeat this comment in the comment section of any Lagos rail related post. Even his comment has proof that he has raised this topic several times.

He talks as if he was the one who told the government the right type of train they ought to buy for the blue line
I'm more excited for the content creator.....he's just happy about it
*Nigerians just want to live a comfortable life. If the politicians will only understand
Thanks for the informations
This is great and commendable. Its a good one, I would like to recommend that the sustenance of this project should be giving priority. Likewise, the LSG should consider erecting like like a barrier between the waiting line and the trail track to prevent motalities. It happens here in this part of the world where people just commit suicidal acts
Good !
Jagaban master plan must continue in Lagos.
This is lovely❤ i still strongly believe in africa it will only take time but soon definitely😊
Omo see Lagos red line train, look like aircraft...🤣🤣🤣
These developments are loooong overdue. But well done to the LASG.
Great video!
@@FreddyPateki Oh OK, thanks for that.
@@Muzakman37ok delete your comment because it’s false
@@ayjay4273 Excuse me? Be quiet.
@@FreddyPateki The coaches are the MK3 coaches that forms part of the HST. They're not new Talgo sets. I travelled on them for 20 years, and work for the UK Railway. I'd recognise them anywhere. The Talgo sets do feature at 09:50 when he points at the other train.
Creating jobs for those attendant.. I work on railway for 15yrs here in UK ..always a good job ..
Nice one to Build is good but to maintain is another one we pray they follow up with it so that people don,t mess up with it
Professional videoing of the redline well done.
Hurraaaay 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Lagos state for the improvement. Please install escalators so children and less able to walk like elderly and disabled can access the platform to the train. Thank you 😊
Great job from Julius Berger
We need more people like nwache in nigeria
Well done my brother, you're doing a good job
Cool
from Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast).
Inner high-speed suburban line, on track!
The more I view your videos, you keep blowing my mind of what I had no idea How Africa really is. The western country has lied and blinded us over badly. WOW
nice one
Very good
Wonderful to watch
The stations still need to be connected to lagos major population areas so its easily accessible. No need to take a car ride there first
FANTASTIC👏👏👏, But PLEASE, Maintenance,Maintenance..MAINTENANCE....That has always been our BIGGEST problem in Nigeria. And if care is not taken, hawkers will take over the tracks and stairways..AS USUAL
Woow very nice
Lagos State keep it up
My broda, you have done a good job showing the 'world' what is happening in Lagos but showing Alagbado, the bus station in Ikeja and CMS and saying Lagos is beautiful to me is a misrepresentation of Lagos State, even though the infrastructural development is poor.
This is a pure lie, this is talgo series 8 and this particular train was Manufactured in Wisconsin and delivered in 2013. You can fact check it is different from the UK own. So don't lie about what you don't know.
Wrong train.
You lie. The talgo 8 can never have been built in the 70s. Go do your due deligence.
Talgo 8? Na
@@shonibaresulaimon4432 This isn't a Talgo 8. I suggest you actually look at what a Talgo 8 is lol. Talgo 8s have been purchased, but this exact train isn't it. So don't act smart
Our major problem is maintenances.
Great!
Thank you, Jesus Christ.
JESUS IS LORD.
They should link the airport with one of the trains like Frankfurt. It will make commuting easier for travellers
Lagos is winning
