Freakin' BIG RC Buggy! Team Corally Asuga XLR

- Looks like Team Corally is stepping things up and going big with a new release, the Asuga XLR! This buggy is 15% bigger than their ⅛ buggy offerings and with that means new oversized parts. It retains their ⅛ power system in the RTR version and there’s a roller option as well. In this video Greg shows you the new parts up close and goes through some of this buggy's exciting details. There’s of course some action to show off how it performs. The test session was cut short, but you’ll have to watch to see why. This is a pretty exciting release though and the video is a must watch if you’re looking for a new race-like basher for your RC stable.

What do think about this big beast?! I spoke to Hobby Recreation Products, the distributor here in the US and they have them in stock ready to ship! No pre-order and wait! Pretty cool. Here's the link: www.hobbyrecreationproducts.com/pages/search-results-page?q=asuga%20xlr
I'm looking forward to getting one of these, for my track we will have a blast with it, INCREDIBLE Review and Drive!!

Is it hard to get parts for Team Corally RC? I hear it's expensive to ship parts to the USA. Does anyone know if that's true?
I just left our local hobby shop in Florida and they said they have plenty parts for it
@@ExocagedRC Thanks brother, I’ll keep an eye out for your vid.
I'm so ready for more large buggies. I didn't even realize I wanted this until now.
Waiting for arrma to make a 1/5 typhon.

379 for a roller that's what I'm talking about! Bought one already! Thank you Team Corally for keeping RC affordable. Horizon should learn.
Me too bro! Ordered the blue roller and trying to decide on electronics right now. I bet the methodrc sc belted tires will be amazing on this thing too.
@Beauty & Beast RC hell yeah bro. I'm putting the max8 g2 in it. It's my first corally but for that price I couldn't pass.
@@heavymetalrc7520 my first as well 🤣 and I was also considering the max 8 g2 2250kv combo haha. roller is even cheaper than a tlr typhon.
@@BeautyBeastRC im willing to bet a tlr typhon would run circles around that thing on a track tho. Im also a losi fan so i may be a lil biased lol
@@codyjackson47 more fair comparison might be the talion 😂
Once again Greg, I can always depend on getting a clear and fair review. Thank you sir! I will say this looks interesting. I'm looking forward to getting the roller.
Thank YOU! Wish I had a little more time with it, but I felt confident people would get a good feel for the buggy with what I presented.

@@xanderortiz3346 False. I buy parts from Hobby Recreation Products. They are out of Utah and stock the RC's and parts.
That thing Rips!! I love it! Corally has always impressed me! They make great stuff! Thanks for sharing brother!
They do , I get kick out watching the worse rc drivers thinking it's rigs fault when they break . Like bro you not good enough to be going big .. now some plastic rcs take it but every action is with limited control abilities, another words they just driving forgiving rcs with no room for improvements
@@paulclancy2404 I agree a bit man I don't want broken platform wheels shocks I like doing small jumps. These rc no matter what brand will break something if u launch 20 to 40 ft up lol

The ASUGA looks amazing. Great review and points made in the video. Appreciate the thorough details and close up shots, looks quite beefy for what's included. They did a pretty good job. I'm getting one and can't wait to try it. Have a great weekend my friend.
I have a huge soft spot for 1/8th buggies and this thing with it's extra size is an absolute beast!!! I really hope other manufacturers jump on the bandwagon with these things. Epic review and test!
I love 1/8 buggies probably my favourite class of rc they are just cool looking and they handle like nothing else out there. This is a cool release because it’s like a better bigger basher version of 1/8 buggies as some terrain I run mine at always get hung up or thrown off unless conditions are optimum. I really like those body clip mounts The Arrma Mojave tires might fit that buggy nicely too! Excited you got this one Greg thanks for the look over and run! I think I’d get it as a rtr not sure though I have a lot of spare electronics too. 🇨🇦👋
Good Review 👍🏼 and yes it would be nice for Arrma to make a TLR typhon of this size next
I have so much fun w mine. I launch it like you did at the end but I have soft downside landing at the end like you were speaking of.
The new Models are pumping out in '23, I love it!! And this one is looking like winner, and a buggy for a change! Gotta have the roller version, since I have a bunch of electric's just waiting for a new car!

Awesome buggy great review omgrc has the roller for 379 right now👊
It's definitely worth the $$$$! It's definitely a beast! They're definitely bringing it! 👍👍😎👽
Looks good! If I didn't have the radix I'd definitely would pull the trigger. Definitely have to pick and choose but I'll grab one eventually. Hoping for some more releases from TC is coming shortly. Hoping maybe a 1/7th scale kronos or truggy/MT. I'd put a little bead of black silicone to keep dirt out of that rear skid 👍🏻 Great review Greg
@PhilthyCo RC Yup good idea as well 👍🏻 Simple little mod 👌🏼
Good to see Corally still using the super brittle plastic on the wing, that stuff breaks like that in the middle of the summer as well, nothing to do with 40 degree weather
Man I wish these dang rc cars weren't so much money, my 6 year old son would love one of these.
Looks very nice. I wouldn't be throwing it off huge jumps like the last one, but it's interesting to see what happens when you do. If I got one, I would drive it like I drive my Mojave EXB truck. Thanks for the video!

Nice honest review as always and it seems to drive like a truggy , but looks decent . I'll wait around for a while to see how these hold up like with all new rigs 😎
Looks promising. You had minimal issues compared to some other models so hopefully a winner for Corally

Awesome video and looks very interesting buggy...... thinking I'll be getting the roller and switching to and forth my Radix 6 electronics!
So sweet! Love it!
The improvements they have made look good
Top review, I pulled the trigger on the roller, goanna run a hobbywing max8 with 2050kv race star motor, looking forward to bashing this big buggy!
Great review as always , ive broken so many wings on T.C cars and it has become annoying now .... really was hoping they had fixed that ... still looks like a great buggy though
Listed as $540 AUD for roller and $899 RTR, not bad but there are better 1/7 alternatives for the $ imo.
I adviced my mate a shogun. Not because had experience with corally but because it was a well thought design in my opinion. Was a bit off a bummer though. Broke down almost every drive, but after repairing it with some upgrade parts and/or v2 parts it's holding up now.
So there were some weak points in that car, but corally made quite fast an (affordable) upgrade set for the v1 owners, so think that's worth mentioning.
Ordered a blue roller! Pumped!
Looks great !! More than this, it is not another crawler video !!!!!! :)
Nice, can’t wait to get mine! Can you do a side by side comparison with the ARRMA Mojave just see the size difference?
Looks cool. Great size, i suppose it would be awesome on MT wheels on it.Hope Corraly would make bigger truggy next time.
8:04 "this could be dangerous" Kevin Talbot..."gimme that. To the moon"
landing looked good to me
It pops up on the flat landings. Don’t worry the suspension setup commenters will be here any minute to point it out. lol
It is like the Mr Olympia of buggies!i like it even though the durability is not its best feature!
This looks a beast! Im a returning RC enthusiast gone from Nitro to brushless motor, so looking forward to learning again and can’t wait till my Asuga xl comes through the post.! How do u clean the buggy? New sub 👊🏻
Looks somewhat similar to the Arrma Typhon 👍🏼 looks sweet
Perfect bro, great rundown and impressions video. Is there a better Value in RC then this new Corally? I don't think so if my experience combined with theses notable improvements.
See ya round brother
I really like that esc
Great Video My Friend! My question is can i use 2 spectrum 3s batterys in the buggy with those velcro straps? The height for my 2 batterys are 2 and 3/4 in height. Thanks for your help
You and a few guys could use of a good portion of that BMX track to race and see everything. You even have a driver's stand. I'm jealous. RC is dead where I'm at. I find it hard to believe all these wings break. There are definitely unbreakable plastics that won't weigh a ton.
That's been my only 2 negatives about tc is their battery trays are really tight and need modification but the other thing is their material they make their wings out of. It's a super brittle shiny plastic and not a more nylon composite like in the Arrmas. I thought they would've addressed it by now as they have always been like that and brittle but at least it's a minor inconvenience. Wonder if any Arrma or RPM wings would work on them? 🤔 Other than those minor complaints they are really nice quality trucks with a bright future.
I wonder if the ARRMA Talion tires fits this just right? 😂
Great video
Yes 😍😍
I wish you would of shown it next to some popular rigs for comparison.oh well great review 💯
I love argue!!!! Wigger build🥰
Wow you got it! A Shogun with Radix tires? Love my Shogun and Python.
I love all the beefy upgrade they did. While it might be a regurgitation of a truggy I think it's a good direction. I would like to add some of these upgrades in my TC
Now this looks awesome man wow. I love my typhon tho but this is nicee
Kind of looks like my biggified Typhon I made, hybrid of Kraton, Mojave and Limitless parts with truggy size pin tires, to look like a big Typhon.
Hey there! What buggy body did you use for the biggified Typhon?
@@2XRC That's the Limitless body cut up, I tried to get it to look as close as I could get it to Typhon like.
@@drog343 awesome! Sub’d to your channel. I ordered a blue Limitless body from Jenny’s. It was too pretty to butcher up so I never got the project going. Hope you start making more content!!
@@2XRC Thanks, yeah I really want to, but life is just getting in the way for now, I'm back in school, and recently got back into home ownership, so that is taking priority for now, but hopefully I'll be back at it eventually 😁👍
Is it hard to get parts for Team Corally RC? I hear it's expensive to ship parts to the USA. Does anyone know if that's true?
Cool buggy
40F is the point at which even bullet proof polycarbonate glass becomes brittle and is likely to shatter if hit hard enough. The buggy held up well considering the environmental conditions it was operating in.
love the 1/8th content neeeed to know your thoughts on rc8t4e !
Very nice 👍🏾
Did you build the offroad race track?
That’s a bad beast
Corally makes some rippers for sure. It has some of the same problems as the 1/8 radix/python. Small battery tray,no battery wire management, would've been nice to those problems fixed in this model. Still,I'll prob end up with one.
What the Redcat Shredder could have become!
Exelent review!
Mine will be here Thursday/Friday. However, got the roller, and curious what size pinion came on the rtr?
I love your reviews but why don’t you do much hpi stuff? I would love to see a review for the most recent hpi vorza truggy
Just treat it as it is..a Racing-buggy⚡️
I wish Arrma would do a Typhon this size. Only because I can't get TC here.
Is this the BMX track in Bethel, CT?
Is it hard to get parts? Are shipping to USA could be expensive, is this true?
Looks great. I know this vehicle is different to the kraton but do you think for bashing the kraton exb would be better
Kraton is absolutely a better basher, plus it has better parts availability
i love your videos😍
Buggy powaaaaaaaaa unlimited POWAAAAA
Nice review thanks
Music is a little too loud it was hard to hear the details
Ist da das gleiche Alu verbaut wie beim XTR oder eher wie beim RTR ?
Really hope the roller is affordable, I would love to check this one out, looks beautiful😍
But yeah, did they put oil in the diffs on this model? 🤔 Don't get me wrong, I like TC and own a few. I just never understood why all my diffs are dry on all my TC rigs.
This is really best reviews
Think I found my sand drag chassis
Have you broke anything yet, ah yeah their wings have been a bit of a weakness for them, I think they need to make them more flexible. I thought they would have sorted that out by now, not exactly a huge issue as there are plenty of aftermarket wings will most likely fit
How do you think this compares to Traxxas Sledge, HPI Vorza S, Arrma Kraton 6S?
It’s basically a Kronos xtr with a buggy body
They call it a racing buggy, but what class are you supposed to race this in, Truggy?
I'd like to know what diameter the tires are. If I get one it'll be for my race track and then tires is a topic. It kinda looks as if truggy tires could be a fit.
130 mm 😎 👍

Hi. How come my don't have reverse
It's like arrma and tekno had a baby!
Kool
Team Corally's plastics so far have been poor quality hopefully maybe they have improved in this buggy ??? But it looks Awesome !!!!!
They aren't really poor quality they just lack some flexibility for bashing, more like a lot of race cars have. But I agree they do need to make some of their plastics more flexible
Arrma has already done all, try n keep up..
I hope team corally is going up to large scale, i think they are up for it. My bank account however, isnt.
Plastics have to be spot-on the bigger and heavier you go though. It's not easy to get right, Arrma have had and still have quite a few issues with their larger scale offroad vehicles when it comes to durability out the box
$600? /Interested for sure
Alot of these extreme bashers just dont look good, I like my vehicles to have a realistic look to them, Iam sure they are great fun.
It's a Buggy I mean what u into like scale cars or
Looks a beefy bit of kit!
Ever hear of rc hobby explosion in Dallas Texas they offered me a Asuga rc for 539 with free shipping and no tax to Albany ny
It's weird they went this route, a Truggy or MT size increase would have made sense, but this just makes it a similar size of my Dementor.
I see no real need for a buggy given the 1/8 scale is meant for the track traditionally.
I think that's the point 8th scale buggy is basically for track so why not make it bigger for the bashing market, people have been asking for an Arrma one for a while
@@Luke-en2tk buggies are not good bashers, they have exposed shocks, they nose dive very easily, they have less clearance than a truggy/MT so why make it bigger is beyond me.
@@DankePlace exactly but a bigger one will be more suited to rougher ground have better stability and jump a lot better, this isn't going to be for doing flips

I wonder why this and not just a truggy/bruggy
It’s the Same size of the Typhon
No, absolutely not! Its considerably bigger.
@@AsurasWrath164 😳😳
Yep, definitely bigger
Looks 1/7 to me team energy has a 1/7 scale buggy I wonder if that's where they got the idea from
Just waiting for the diffs to start grinding and stripping I see corally didn’t change the monkey metal ring gears in the diffs!!! That’s the main problem with corally the diffs they are garbage I wish Vitavon would make a set of gears for their cars
