Please rename this video and include more words like, pcv valve hose, vacuum hoses, and 99 sable bc I needed this video a week ago. I have been searching everywhere.. I THINK my catalytic converter is getting hot bc of vacuum leak on this car.
2001 Mercury Sable LS. Something is causing Throttle/rpms to stick at times? I have disconnected cruise control cable. Going down road,.it seems like gas pedal is stuck and keeps pulling at different times,...not always? Car does not surge,....it just continues to pull at steady speed when I take my foot off pedal? When it doesn't release I throw car in neutral,...rpm's surge to about 1800,...it idles back down immediately? I've replaced MAF/Idle control sensor/throttle control sensor/EGR/EGR coil sensor. People telling me now I have a vacuum leak? Have you ever used soapy water to find a vacuum leak,.....is this bad for the engine? Could it be bad upper plenum gaskets? New coil pack/plugs/wires about two years ago.
Soapy water is a good way to find a vacuum leak. But a smoke test is the best way. I will do a video on how to smoke test a vehicle with a cigar and a $5 hand pump.
