Thanks for uploading this. I had this on VHS. There are some great Merson goals in this and great Rocky (RIP) magic skills. Love seeing the old Highbury with the North Bank.
No problem. I’m glad you found the video 🙂. This was probably my favourite Arsenal vid when I was a kid. That run towards the end of the season was incredible. So many good goals.
I remember this season vividly!! I was 13 and started going to games with my mates that year. Picked some great games to watch. Sheffield Wed 7-1 , Crystal Palace 4-1, Leeds 1-1 & final game of season v Southampton 5-1! Ian wright hatrick to clinch the the golden boot!! All for £4 a ticket to stand in the North Bank. Think it was called juvenile citizen back then. That was the last year before the taylor report after that it become all ticket and football changed. If we started the season like that we would have won the league! Great, great memories. Thank you for uploading sent me down memory lane.
Excellent 😀. I’m glad you found this video. Yeah the start to this season was so poor. Not what you’d expect from the defending champions. Some great goals scored this season 👌
Wrighty in that last game against the Saints was out of this world. 29 goals top goal scorer in the league was incredible what a player. He definitely added a dynamic element to Arsenal. 56:40 Kevin Campbell's goal is similar to Henry's goal against Man Utd.
R.I.P David ROCKY Rocastle Arsenal Legend amazing player and a lovely guy he was loved by everyone ❤️ at Arsenal also I think we should of kept Kevin Campbell for a good few years him and Wright were fantastic up front with Merson behind and Rocastle and Limpar on the wings Alan Smith smudge was a good player but I preferred Wright and Campbell up front the Seaman Dixon Adams Bould Winterburn back 5 didn't really start to get brilliant until 1993 onwards especially when Keown signed I still can't believe Ian Wright was 28 when he signed for Arsenal and went on to score 186 goals and win 5 trophies for us Jamie Vardy has done similar with Leicester City 27 when he joined them scored over 150 goals and won the Premier league and FA Cup it's very rare for a player to sign from a lower league team and achieve what Wright and Vardy did plus they both got England caps and goals for England
Rocky Rocastle is full of skill and heart that will never be forgotten. Rocky Rocastle is scoring that beautiful goal against Manchester United away. Kev Campbell scoring for fun. Alan Smith, Golden Boot double winner also scoring too for fun. Wrighty joining us from Palace scoring his hatrick against Southampton. He eventually won the Golden Boot award.
@@PESDNAShales I remember the season well…..more so than recent seasons which is odd I was at the 6-1 vs Austria Vienna. Great days under the lights at Highbury
@@dazza9448 amazing! Must’ve been a great game to be at. I saw my first Arsenal match this season. It was the 2-0 home win over Notts County. It was my 10th birthday 🙂.
I do but I won’t be able to upload them to RUclips because of the Premier League copyright. Seems no one really cares about the old Div 1. However, I couldn’t upload the 88/89 season as that had a copyright. I think because a lot of the footage was used in the film called 89.
Alan Smith was underrated. We should’ve dominated after our title win the season before. We were exciting to watch but then GG went too defensive after this season and we really went off the rails in the league.
We were very good in spells that season, still maybe the best in England. But some bad periods. And GG sold Rocastle RIP so lacked a lot of the fluidity in 92-3

Wrighty's goal against the Saints when he ran from his own half was incredible.
Lovely days of Arsenal

KC was with us in 94 and we bought DB10 in 95. Wrighty and DB10 were a better combo I think 😊
90/91 that back four were incredible

I loved this vid, despite how poor Arsenal were in the 1st half of the season. Some cracking goals towards the end 😀.
@@PESDNAShales had the season been longer maybe back to back titles?
Reminded of how terrible Andy Lineghan was lol. Also, Limpar really should have been in the 1st team.
It was definitely odd to see Limpar completely drop out of the team. He was so good in his debut season.
@@PESDNAShales wasn't defensive enough 🤣

Good team. George Graham decent manager.
Proved it at Leeds post bung allegation.
Limpar was my hero when i was a kid even down to i had my hand in his position when i used to run😂
Limpar was my fave during the 90/91 season. Then Wright soon became my favourite 😀. It is a shame that we sold Limpar to Everton when we did.

Great team but Arsenal became far too over reliant on Ian Wright which probably cost them league titles in the 90s.
