I have to say, Stewart Houston did a superb job towards the end of the season. He was never going to be considered for the full time job and I don’t think he wanted it. Yet to get us to The Cup Winners Cup final was a remarkable achievement. Not to mention steering us clear from a relegation dogfight.

Maybe he didn’t want the job when George Graham left, but by all accounts, when Rioch left, and he became caretaker again, he apparently wanted the job full time, but when he was told the board already someone else in mind (I.e Wenger) that’s the main reason why he left to join QPR.

This was the season that my dad went to so many games that season. Shame Arsenal couldn’t retain the cup winners cup. Also had this VHS tape. Thanks for the uploading of this. Could you upload 1995/96 under Bruce Ricoh.

Christ this was a fucking dire season to say the least. Even without the bungs, Graham needed to go. He was out of ideas and Arsenal had fallen a long way behind

That team was so stale. I was watching the 91/92 review and its pretty much the same players. Graham was gone at the end of that season regardless I think.

@Keanoafc it was worse as players like Limpar, Rocastle and Thomas had been replaced by crap like Jensen and McGoldrick. Graham didn't know how to compete in the league anymore. Should have left on a high the year before

It was bizarre. In 92/93 we conceded a ridiculously low number of goals second only to Man United but somehow managed to finish 10th. GG went way too defensive and made some odd recruitment choices. Selling Limpar, Rocky and Thomas and replacing them with garbage made no sense. The defence and Wrighty were excellent though.

An awful season and if truth be told 1993/94 wasn't any better, The ECWC win papered over a lot of cracks that year
