I really wish we could have built around the likes of Fowler, Owen, Mcmannaman, Gerrard, Carragher around 1999 the way Man United did with the class of 92. I love Houlier but imagine Daglish came back in 1999, he would have probably convinced Mcmannaman to stay and would not have fallen out with Fowler
We won the League Cup (in the days when it was much more relevant than today) in 94/95 season. Against Bolton 2-1. Two goals by McManaman. It was our 5th time.
This was possibly the most enjoyable season during the 90s ... Souness was gone, and Evans was starting his first full season. The players just all seemed to be happier, and the likes of Rush and Barnes were playing with a smile on their faces again. Roy spent big on defence, bringing in Babb and Scales. In hindsight neither of them really made a huge difference, but it saw Roy experiment with his infamous 5 man defence - allowing Stig and Rob Jones to fly down the wings - and it worked for a while. Early in the season Barnes and Molby were a joy to watch in the midfield, and Rush and Fowler had their best season together. 4th place in the league and a trophy was a good return for that team ... and I just always have a warm glow and good memories of this season for whatever reason ...
Today saturday 3-8-2024 is my 42nd birthday and i will complete 30 years of liverpool's supporting since this season 1994-1995 . So i bought 2 party cakies 🎂🎂 1 for 42 birthday and 1 for 30 years of liverpool supporting
LFC PL Scorers 94/95 Robbie Fowler 25 Ian Rush 12 John Barnes 7 Steve McManaman 7 Jamie Redknapp 3 John Scales 2 Jan Molby 2 Neil Ruddock 2 Steve Harkness 1
2nd striker needed to be better rush was past it. Perhaps Dwight Yorke Redknapp not good enough. ... Dennis wise David James too dodgy. Nigel martyn solid. Needed a dirty centre back better than ruddock. Perhaps keown Maybe even a left winger such as Brian Roy Dutch player at Nottingham forest for a while.😢
Barnes was still an excellent player in the mid 90's. He probably could have played for England in Euro '96, but he was one of a few players like Ian Wright and Paul Merson who never got a look in under Venables. He still contributed to a lot of Liverpool goals with his skill and vision.
Loved it when Roy Evans added Phil Babb and John Scales from Coventry City and Wimbledon, and helped derail old rivals Man United from winning 3 League Championships in a row beating Man United 2-0 at Anfield, but would win League Cup for a fifth time and first time in 9 years beating Bolton Wanderers 2-1. David James' first real season as No 1 replacing Bruce Grobbelaar.
Start of season that saw midfield legend Ronnie Whelan leave after 14 years. Molby, Barnes and Rush still there. Went far in FA Cup too, losing 2-1 v Tottenham in 6th Round.
When they dub the footage with LFC commentators! Remember the days of match of the day - 1/2 games with commentators All the other games, just highlights with a voice over giving names of scorers basically How times have changed!!
Such a shame Rob Jones and to a lesser extent Redknapp, suffered such horrible injuries, would have made a huge difference to have both availabile regularly. That and a decent defence and keeper 😂
Crazy to think that Robbie was at his best at 20/21 years of age. A natural striker.

agreed this particular season put Liverpool back into the realms of respectability after a couple of seasons in the doldrums
That Rush/Fowler partnership was lethal
It sure was, great memory from my childhood. I was 9 years old at the start of the season, 10 at the end of it.
Fowler, McManaman,Redknapp, Rush, Barnes were a joy to watch but apart from Rob Jones the rest of the team sucked
Maybe my favourite 90s Liverpool team.
Thanks my first epl ever to see after world cup 1994 . Next season 2024/2025 i will continue 30 years of liverpool's supporting .
Liver for ever
I remember being 5-6 watching back to the boot room video on this season. Kept repeating it every weekend!
McManaman, Fowler, Rush, Barnes, Jones would be in todays squad.
FOWLER his finishing was superb

Rush ❤️

as a creative force and goal threat John Barnes still had that magic but couldn't run for toffee
You ll never walk alone 💪💪❤❤❤❤

ทรงบอลแม๊กก้า! เจ้าหนูแบทรี่! คล้ายๆ😊
Why were crowd effects added? This match happened at Selhurst Park, not Anfield !!
It's like the keepers want Fowler to score
ฟาวเลอร์ คนเดียว ยิงกระจาย ยิงทุกแมตช์ 😦😦😦
Love you JEZUZ
What a club
3:01 - Why are Liverpool wearing Southampton's alternative goalkeeper socks? 😆😂
😅😂😂
When they dub the footage with LFC commentators!

YNWA ❤❤❤❤
butthurt l city, varchester u, messilona fc fans incoming.
“Liverpool make a deposit”.... never heard that expression before 🤣
Where can I buy that kits today ? That has to be one of the good looking Liverpool shirt I looking for, apart from the 2019-2020 and 2006-2007 one
Such a shame Rob Jones and to a lesser extent Redknapp, suffered such horrible injuries, would have made a huge difference to have both availabile regularly. That and a decent defence and keeper 😂
17:21 …wasn’t off Pallister.. it was off Bruce…. 😂 YNWA…
The first year of me
That goal at 18:10. Lol arsenal defenders falling over all around macca.
You don't really see strikers with moustaches anymore 🧐
A very talented team but just didnt have the winning mentality
why
My dad is a official member of the team
Maca and Robbie should have had more disciplined...England must have wom somthing if these 2 shown the elite level of professionalism
Middle rank is ideal place for Liverpool

Using tax payers money to pay lower paid workers is shameful. Any reds supporters should be ashamed of Liverpool FC.
Cry more. Nothing wrong with it
Hope you enjoyed the video 😉
