I don't think you can. At least, I'm not aware of how you could heal your gut on a plant-based diet.

      It absolutely is possible.
Try an elimination diet like FODMAP. That worked for me as it eliminates foods that are likely to be poorly absorbed by your small intestine.
If you're not sure where to start then I'd recommend getting a FODMAP app and planning your diet around low FODMAP foods for *at least* a month. Try to get your vegetables fresh & local if possible. Always wash them first even if they are pre-'washed'. Remember that everyone is different and it depends on your body when it comes to how your gut will react to your diet - so be aware of what foods you are eating and how you feel after your meal(s).
If you have low fibre then prepare to be gassy as your stomach adjusts, haha. Once you notice improvements and your stomach has settled down then you can start re-introducing your favourite foods one by one while keeping close attention to if those foods bloat you.
To make a point of how surprising things can be... I personally realised that my stomach does not like lactose or popcorn despite being fine with sourdough bread or lactose-free milk (I am not lactose-intolerant) and even wheat noodles or pasta. What's important is you do things one at a time, paying attention to how your body reacts and how you feel physically and mentally. Good luck!
