I will be 66 in a couple weeks, and use absolutely no pharmaceutical products, prescribed or over the counter for any reason whatsoever. I am healthier and stronger now than i was ten years ago. About a year and a half ago, i changed the way i ate. I began eating just one good meal per day, eating real whole foods and drastically limiting sugars, carbs, processed and fast 'foods'.
I lost about 60 pounds of excess fluids and body fat in the first 2 - 3 months. I also reversed every chronic health condition that plagued me for decades! I was no longer obese. Gone was my fatty liver condition. The edema, or swelling in my feet and lower legs was gone. My cellulitis was gone. My occasional hypertension was gone. The frequent late night urination stopped. My COPD symptoms were gone, and i still smoke modestly. Imagine that. I also suffered with peripheral neuropathy in the feet. That was the most stubborn condition, but that has also finally subsided. My testosterone levels increased, and i stopped losing teeth. The teeth that remain are stronger and healthier. I doubt i will ever lose another tooth, and would bet the farm that my bones are also stronger. My hair and skin are better. It is like aging in reverse!
I also do get exercise, but that had nothing to do with the weight loss. I do walking, yard work, squats, push ups and light to moderate weight training to name a few. I do these things to maintain strength and muscle mass. I have been trying to help others who want to lose weight and get healthier - whoever will listen that is.

Same here!! I just got diabetic neuropathy back in December.
I doubled down on low carb and have lost 25 lbs in the last 8 weeks, down to 220 lbs and will never go back! My blood sugars average between 80’s-90’s for the first time since the lates 90’s!! I feel great! I can’t wait to get to 160-170 lbs by the end of this year! I hope my neuropathy goes away, it’s not as bad as others, but hoping it won’t get any worse. Government and big food and pharmaceutical companies are killing people!!

Food education and cooking classes are so important. When I was a young Mom (in the 80's) I lived in low income housing with 70 other single Moms. I made my own soups and bread from scratch and taught all my neighbor friends how to feed their children on a tight budget. It was plant based because that's all I could afford but the children were thrilled with the meals. I also taught them a million uses for a bag of potatoes and a bag of flour. Not only was everybody well fed but the Moms lost weight and the kids stopped being sick all the time.

You speak honestly about SYSTEMIC CORRUPTIONS inside our culture that must be addressed in order to truly solve HUGE problems inside America. I remember the day I stumbled across your lectures so long ago, only a few years into my health tragedy of falling into epilepsy at age 34. Now I work with the very poor in food banks and watch the crap food that is stuffed into food bank bags getting the very poor addicted to the worst of the worst food, like white bread and sugared candy bar bags. Some of the most sick people in this culture are the poor! It's criminal what these industries do by getting the poor addicted to sugar through their insincere and downright cruel "charity" actions.

Most doctors do not get a good background in nutrition. What your oncologist should have done is tell you to try the keto diet after first making sure you didn't have any vitamin or mineral deficiencies through your family doctor. THEN your oncologist or family doctor could send you to a nutritionist to counsel you on food choices to make sure that your new diet meets your needs. I am not one for discouraging someone from trying something that may help without making sure first that it is safe for them to do. Doctors are not gods and don't have any superpowers besides what they learned in school and their practice of medicine.
I have chronic kidney disease and part of that is my body chemistry is seriously out of whack and I have kidney skin rashes. I did my homework and have decided to buy a small Infrared - Far Infrared LED light unit to treat my rashes which are taking multiple months to resolve and are very itchy. My nephrologist had never heard of LED light therapy. I just told him that if he were a dermatologist that he would be familiar with it because LED light therapy is a big part of the beauty industry. I'll get myself cured of my kidney rash, show my nephrologist the results, and give him some scientific articles to read about it. The science is solid and it won't injure people as long as they wear eye protection which comes with the LED light boxes. Maybe then my nephrologist can be convinced to prescribe these devices for his other patients. The unit I am buying is a desk top size that costs $349 and has a three year warranty. If I had more money I would really splash out and get a full body panel.

1:09:45 "We're one meal away from saving America" Having been born and raised in the USA in the early 60's, to a young single mother who worked 2 jobs and still was barely able to keep us above the poverty line, I think it is so clear that it is NOT about poverty but rather the crap food made attractive to the last two generations -- since the late 1970's. I was taught in school how to cook (and about food hygiene, health) - I don't think home-ec still features in many curricula. I developed an interest in cooking and have, over my years as an adult (in control of what I choose to eat), been able to feed myself very well and healthily, even when I had very limited funds (ahhh, the 80's). I will hasten to add that TV dinners were a treat (!!?) - usually only for when parents going out and a babysitter coming in. Other than those times, mum pretty much made our simple meals from the best though cheapest ingredients she could afford. Big pots of bean and veg stew etc. I went off ham hock and bean soup for years ... but now I make it regularly in the winter months ;-) We're fortunate to live in a food bowl in the SW of Western Australia, and also grow a lot of our own food as well now. NO SUGAR! Sugar is only consumed by the very rich and well to do which explains the black rotten teeth of the oligarchs of the oligarchies and nobility. Honey is seldom touched by the common people. Sugar from the sugar cane plants is rarely touched by the common people. In 1985 the Big Food Industry has started SUGARING ALL PROCESSED FOODS that it is in 1985 that obesity has started exploding! FATS such as lard and tallow are good for your health if PROPERLY MADE but WHEN YOU EAT SUGAR WITH FAT, THAT SUGAR CAUSES THE FATS TO COAGULATE IN YOUR BLOOD VESSELS BUT IF THERE IS NO SUGAR AND ONLY FAT IS EATEN, IF FAT IS ONLY EATEN, THEN IT WILL NOT COAGULATE IN YOUR BLOOD VESSELS.
When I was assigned in an Asian country, pork, FATTY PORK, is the mainstay popular protein source and rendered pork fat is popular. But I noticed one thing. (1) In one place which is low-middle class and middle-middle class the people are only eating a lot of FATTY PORK and some FATTY BEEF but almost never have any sweets deserts but they also eat BROWN RICE AND FRESHLY HARVESTED FRUITS AND VEGETABLES from their large gardens. (2) But in one place which is upper-middle class and above, the people eat both FATTY PORK, FATTY BEEF, AND SUGARY SWEETS DESERTS and the result the sugar causes the consumed pork fat and beef fat to coagulate and they eat a medium amount of vegetables and fruits but their fruits is 25% fresh and the rest are candied sugared fruits. The people in location (1) are healthy while the people in location (2) are not so healthy.
The only thing their foods has in common is that they do not use processed foods, no hybrids, no GMOs, no agro-chemical pesticides and other CIDES. All of these are TOO EXPENSIVE TO USE IN THEIR COUNTRY and farmers has to make do with everything that is organic. The only good thing is that their agricultural department is very concentrated in using only organic heirloom plant varieties, medicinal herbal pharmaceutical crop varieties, they know how to safely propagate through rooted plant cuttings against pollen drift contamination (just in case there is an attempt to contaminate their crops by Monsanto and by Dupont and etc) and so forth and so on.
The problem lies in the way how badly our food has been tampered with. The banana described in your Readers Digest forgot to mention that the bananas that they are describing are of the NATURAL HEIRLOOM VARIETIES and are not hybrids and are not GMOs and are not OVER-CHEMICALLIZED! Inside our Siberian greenhouses we only use a combination of
      (1) rock dust powders mixtures (a mixture of different rock powders made from granite gneiss, basalt, diabase basalt, basalt and andesite mixture, phosphate rock (phosphorus) and dolomite (magnesium) and limestone (calcium) and when available we add rare earths oxide ore powders and all of them are mixed together in equal proportions by volume,
      (2) biochar (made from food grade activated carbon made from bituminous coal or from the Siberian trees),
      (3) humus (fully fermented compost) to bio-activate the biogeochemical inter-action effects between these 3 ingredients.
We use Yerba De La Pulga to repel insects, diatomaceous earth against soil pests and plant pests, Mexican marigolds of the Tagates minuta variety to repel soil pests and to make the soil friable and TO FIGHT AGAINST BLIGHT, and many others too numerous to list here.
They say oats creates arthritis and yet more than 223 years ago, in England and in Scotland and in Ireland oat meal porridge is widely eaten with any ill effects and without giving arthritis to the population as a whole. Why? I will tell you why, the oats they are eating are OGRANIC HEIRLOOM VARIETIES OF OATS and are not hybrids and not GMOs and not OVER-CHEMICALLIZED with all kinds of pesticides and other cides!
How healthy are our ancestors in the past and how vigorous they were once in their minds and in their bodies? All one has to do is look back at history when it comes to the fitness of British soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars and the fitness of the British soldiers during the Boer Wars.
The British soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars in 1803 to 1815 are large and powerful and fast forward to their descendants during the Boer Wars in 1899 to 1902 became short and frail in a mere 99 years!
How come? Why did they degenerated to such a low level of human physiology?
The answer is simple: Freshly baked bread made from freshly ground whole wheat grain baked and eaten on the same day was replaced with over processed bleached white flour bread loaded with dangerous chemicals and the only preservatives used is "HONEY" at 15% to 25% by volume.
NO SUGAR! Sugar is only consumed by the very rich and well to do which explains the black rotten teeth of the oligarchs of the oligarchies and nobility. Honey is seldom touched by the common people. Sugar from the sugar cane plants is rarely touched by the common people.
The fresh butter made from freshly churned butter from freshly milked cows that was produced and consumed in the same day was replaced with margarine! Even your cheese was exposed in the 1980s in your Readers Digest edition as just being oil and water with 1% to 2% milk by-products added just give it a taste of milk! In fact, I have a microfilm archive of it in my personal microfilm library of photochromic micro-imaged glass ceramic glass card library.
To add insult to injury, we added hybrids, GMOs, agro-chemicals, over processing, food additives, food preservatives, etc to all foods.
In my childhood my brothers and I will grind whole wheat grains and other whole grains without any further processing, we will just grind them and give it to our mothers and aunts and older sisters and older girl cousins who will just take it as it is, add water to it to make a proper dough and wait for 7 hours for it to rise and to make the phosphate enzyme pick up the calcium. They knew it needed a ratio of ten to four. Ten of calcium and four of phosphorus.
Now a ten-to-four ratio is what we need in our body for life. Why? Because if we have this ratio, we will never be sick a day in our life! That is why we have so many centenarians in our village in Kazan, Russia! Their age range from 115 to 145 years of age to this day!
So my point is "EVERYTHING WAS FRESH AND IS STILL FRESH IN MY VILLAGE" but in your cities it is a whole different story!
The BIG AG companies excuses are we have to use these dangerous UNNATURAL VARIETIES and dangerous chemicals in order to increase yields.
Yields? When it is a well known fact that rock dust powders remineralization discovered in 1894 rockdustlocal.com/uploads/3/4/3/4/34349856/bread_from_stones.pdf can increase yields by 4 to 5 times even if you are only using natural genetic varieties heirloom seeds and rooted cuttings. There are 72 registered natural varieties of corn in 1980, the average yield of one variety is 3 metric tons per hectare but with PROPERLY MADE and properly prepared-inoculated with humus rock dust they have, under certain conditions, increased yields by 12 to 15 metric tons. The rock dust dosage is 5 to 10 kilograms per square meter which are then deep tilled-mixed deeply into the soil down to a depth of 6 to 8 inches or more to as deep as 12 inches.
www.css.cornell.edu/faculty/lehmann/research/terra%20preta/Flyer%20terra%20preta%20landuse%20strategy.pdf "Since I moved to my current home and farm on Terra Preta, I have not been sick anymore as before. Also my family is now much healthier." Dona Francisca, Rio Urubu, 2004.
41:29 to 43:11 ruclips.net/video/0Os-ujelkgw/видео.html An 880% increase in yield or 8.8 times more yields above the average normal yield.
43:51 to 45:57 ruclips.net/video/0Os-ujelkgw/видео.html Terra preta has a tendency to grow, just leave 20 centimeters behind and apply agricultural wastes biomass and from plant biomass litter produced by the local plants and trees will make the terra preta grow deeper by an another 20 centimeters in 20 years. Terra preta soil growth at a rate of 1 centimeter per year at that particular period in time, and that was more than 10 years ago.

    Speaking as a British centre ground politician. I think we should;
    1. Ban lobbying of governments and politicians.
    2. Stop educational institutions from accepting sponsorship from big companies.
    3. Tax big companies more to allow the educational establishments to make up the loss of point 2.
    4. Global companies should pay tax on the goods they sell in a market rather than offshoring
Trouble is it will take a brave politician to get this through!

By 4yo she was screaming in pain her migraines were so bad she would vomit and pass out from the pain. We went to a neurologist who was an older man that said to me, " Do you want medication or a packet filled with what to avoid to control migraines?" I said the packet and we've avoided everything on the list for the rest of her life and she's been migraine free. It was all additives really, msg, autolyzed yeast, yeast extract, dyes, nitrates etc a lot of ORGANIC processed foods has the hidden yeast still. Be careful folks.

All this stuff is soooo bad for you because it is sooo high in sugar and sodium. But we had no choice with two working parents and in our house, we had a rule that us kids were not allowed to use the stove when there was no adult supervision. So, microwave food was our only option. My mom would usually cook a few dishes food like vegetarian chili, pasta, etc over the weekend and store them in the refrigerator and all we had to do was heat it up in the microwave, but usually it would all be over by Monday or Tuesday.

And adding a kilogram of rock dust powder made from limestone (calcium), dolomite (magnesium), phosphate rock (phosphorus) per every 100 kilograms of the primary rock dust. The bio-activated charcoal or bio-activated food grade activated carbon will turn the soil into terra preta soil which can be maintained indefinitely by returning all agricultural wastes back into it. I worked as an engineer for a top food company for 25 years. You can't stay in business in a capitalist society without selling products people want. The reason food companies sell crap is people want to buy crap. Every time my company tried to make products healthier sales tanked. People value taste, cost, convenience, shelf life and health and health is at the bottom of the list. By now everyone knows what is healthy and what isn't. Yes, food companies do shady things but these crappy products pre-date the current obesity epidemic. People are just eating a lot more of them. Any food company that tries to unilaterally go healthy will be out of business in a few years and replaced by someone else selling the same crap. The only solution in my opinion is to tax the hell out of the unhealthy food and use the money to supplement the healthy food.

Doesn't the food industry go out of its way to make sure people crave for their products and want to eat more and more? You probably know better than me that this stuff is highly addictive and the food industry makes sure to keep it that way... It is so easy to put the responsibility on consumers. The industry is really good at constantly creating new flavors so that people will want to try all this new stuff (which they'll mostly like since sugar, salt and fats enhance flavor)

    • @sifter7381
      @sifter7381 Год назад

@@perthfanny3017 There is no effort or discussion on how to make their products addictive. They bring in panels of people and test different formulas. The formulas people like best win. This is no different than any other industry. The problem is that the formulas that win are the ones high in salt, fat and processed carbs. There is no intentional effort to make the products unhealthy but that is the result. They would rather sell Kale chips but people won't buy them. The other thing worth noting is that these crappy foods have been around for a very long time. I am 63 years old and we had nearly all of them when I was a kid. They pre-date the obesity crisis. What is new is the quantities that people are eating and the lack of movement. When I was young we got fast food maybe twice a year. I think my Grandkids get it 4 times a week. We also didn't sit inside all day playing video games. The environment has changed a lot but yes, I do think consumers and parents need to make better choices. The problems is that both parents working means no one has any time and eating whole foods takes a lot of time. Convenience is driving a lot of this.

I eat mainly fruits and veggies with some good quality meat 1 or two times a week. You will only change what you are doing when you hit a low that forces you to change and that low can come in a million different ways. For me it was high bp,skin issues, pain in liver, migraines etc. Id like to think that most of those issues are behind me now or at least controllable with diet. Nuts are something I avoid if I can now. They gave me mouth ulcers and head aches a lot. I think it was because the excessive arginine

Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices. Fasting should be investigated as a treatment for disease.

Judson College doesn’t have a history of finders from the food industry, which is why Judson closed in 2021. That and Southern Baptists need money for litigation for sex offenders. The Southern Baptists published a 10 year old list of church sex offenders within months of closing the college. They have argued they can keep women out of the ministry, but each church is responsible for sex abuse. They can control speech for more than half the members (women) but not sex abuse of women and children. In 2014 I worked to have a Global Health and Humanitarian Summit at Clark Atlanta-95% female freshman class. They weren’t ready for finders from all over the world or nonprofit members having talks. As nd displays like Emory University had from 2009-2014. A nephrologist, Neil Shulman, started the summits with other doctors like Andrew Chung, MD/PhD, son of a chemical physicist who started the medical school with other doctors at Morehouse College. I can state that yes there is a genetic component to obesity. It comes from the fact that human beings were hunter gatherers who were very active in their search for food. Periodically, there would be famines and the people who could put on weight would be the ones more likely to survive. As a race, human beings aren't hunter gatherers anymore, but we still carry our genetic heritage that predisposes us to gain weight. I'll use the USA as an example because we have the most messed up food industry, eating habits and highest rate of obesity in the world.
My husband was not overweight when I married him and our two children were also thin. A big part of that was that I didn't keep a lot of packaged junk food in the house, I served healthy balanced meals, I did not make a big deal out of cleaning your plate and my attitude was that you have to eat from all the food groups or you will end up getting sick. Our diet at home was essentially Mediterranean. My husband started gaining weight when he was 27. I warned him about drinking shakes, supersizing French fries and eating huge cheeseburgers for lunch because once you gain weight it is difficult to lose it. I suggested water or diet soda for his drink, a normal size of French fries and eating a regular cheeseburger for lunch. I was ignored and to this day he struggles with his weight. His eating habits have improved a lot though. One thing I noticed about my children is that when they were kids they were more likely to eat a piece of fruit over a piece of candy. That was really apparent after Hallowe'en and Easter when their candy baskets would still be full 3 - 6 months later.
During the 1970's there was a big change in the USA food industry and that was substituting fructose derived from corn to high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) into drinks, candy and cereals. High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a fructose-glucose liquid sweetener alternative to sucrose (common table sugar) first introduced to the food and beverage industry in the 1970s. Fructose does not use insulin like glucose in the human body. HFCS does not satiate hunger like glucose does and it promotes fatty liver because human beings are designed to only be able to metabolize fructose slowly in the intestines when it is in its original form with pectin (fiber) and vitamins. Otherwise, the liver has to metabolize most of it and a byproduct is fat in the liver.
The serving sizes for fast food are larger than they used to be by people being encouraged to "supersizing" them for a little more money. The portion size in restaurants tends to be really large. If you eat more food you will end up gaining weight. Drinking water or diet soda does help to prevent fatty liver but fructose or corn starch is snuck into a lot of foods when it isn't necessary to add bulk. There are a lot of different artificial sweeteners out there but I can only recommend stevia or monk fruit since they do come from a natural source.
Even in school there are unhealthy snack foods, juices, sodas and power drinks for children to buy especially in junior high school and high school. A lot of school districts are or have eliminated physical education and that is making the problem worse because children are not as active as they used to be. The American diet particularly in the deep South and Midwest was already unhealthy with a lot of sweets, fried foods and heavy carbohydrates. That was fine when the population were physically active farming, but things aren't that way anymore.
Americans if they want to be healthy and avoid a lot of chronic health conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease and morbid obesity really need to start learning about what they are eating/drinking, start the process of cutting out empty calories and junk food and eat a diet that has a lot more vegetables in it and is not overprocessed foods. You can make food choices that are healthier and getting out there 3 - 4 times a week to take a walk or find some other way to be more active is only going to help. My last point is that many Americans have nutritional deficiencies due to not getting enough sunlight in their diet. Do yourself a favor, when you get a physical have your Vitamin D3 and Vitamin B1 (thiamine) levels checked out by your physician. ANYBODY can end up with a nutritional deficiency especially eating fast food and/or a steady diet of the unhealthy regional cuisines in America. A deficiency of Vitamin D3 along with vitamin K and vitamin A can really mess up your whole body through osteoporosis, kidney disease and a depressed metabolism. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency or mineral deficiencies will also create a lot of problems for the deficient.

Nothing! They are already doing it.... Instead of taxing the consumer, where the money goes directly to them to fund things we may not agree with, why not fund programs that bring awareness to health. And the money goes back to benefit the people - which is what it was intended to do in the first place. Not line government pockets! Having a major problem with a medical person determining 2025 dietary guidelines saying that the major cause of obesity is genetic. Dr. Robert Lustig has it right : we need to fix our sugar laced processed food supply. All that sugar is addictive and people have ALOT of problems getting off it. Now, some people are genetically more susceptible to gaining weight on high carb / sugar diets. ( As mentioned, Pima Indians are an example)If you are poor and uneducated about food and how to cook you are in trouble. As Dr. Mark said and demonstrated we need to teach people how to cook. Is there still home economics in high school,??
