I'm a huge Unlucky Morpheus fan and I'm glad to see you finally discovering them. All of their music is like this and just amazing. One of their most highly recommended songs is "Cadaver / Revadac" which is two songs in one. The second half is the first half played backward. Now for my usual blurb.
Unlucky Morpheus started out about 12 years ago as a group of friends in the that liked a video game Touhou Project and the music from it is called Touhou Arrangement, which is the type of music the band started doing 12 years ago, but as most of the band are into metal music they started to do that as well.
As with many Japanese metal bands they have their own label, which is good and bad. Good in the way that they do what they want and do not have interference from music labels telling them what to do. Bad trying to get hold of their CD's is a real pain. They only sell their stuff in 1or 2 shops in Japan. They also get no support that a major label would provide, one of the reasons they are little known, but should be much bigger.
I was lucky and got the chance to see them back in October live in London, and they sound more powerful live than in the studio tracks, if you ever get the chance to see them live GO!!!
The Band
Fuki (singer) - from loads inc Doll$boxx, Light Bringer + solo. There was a fest. where she appeared on stage with 5 bands. In 12 years she has been involved in over 90 releases, and that's not just one track here and there. In the 2 years before I saw them she had done (full Albums) 1 Doll$boxx, 3 Unlucky Morpheus, 1 solo, also had done tracks on other albums...... Oh!! and toured with both bands and did her own Fuki Fest.
Jinya (guitar) - UNDEAD CORPORATION, Carbonic Acid, Denkare
Shiren (guitar)(Growls) - ex- Yousei Teikoku, ex- Denkare
Fumiya (drummer) - Galneryus, ex-Thousand Eyes
Ogawa Hiroyuki (bass) - Carbonic Acid
Jill (Violin) - Rose Noire, Hollow Mellow, Fuki (solo project)
Shiren had to give up the other bands because he has tenosynovitis of the arm. In the lastest video you'll see him play with a guitar fixed to a base, so he does not have to carry the weight of it, so they do a song called K.A.Z.A.S.I. which he wrote so he could play it with 1 finger. You should give "Angriefer (live)" a go, it was writen before Jill joined the band so is for 2 guitars, but due to Shiren's illness he stopped playing it, so Jill takes over his part on the violin, which is something they do live now with Black Pentagram.Shiren has also said that he will be writing a new album during the 100 days of Covid lockdown, as it gives him something to do.

p.s. - This band should be world famous. They are absolutely crazy good.
Just to give a little background. The band is actually a project band. All the members are actually from other bands. Yeah, really. The group grew out of Tohou project which is this niche Japanese fantasy video game. I know. So, many of their songs have this neo-classical color to them which I love. So, Fuki (vcal) and Shiren (lead g) are friends and they thought might be fun to form a band (power/speed metal) that performed songs based on that. So, they gathered their friends (who are into video games) and do shows. So, UM started that way. In my opinion, Fuki is the best metal singer from Japan bar none. And Shiren is crazy good guitarist. But, he has a medical condition on his wrist so a lot of times he plays the guitar on a guitar stand. I just love this band because they have a violin that gives such romantic air to their hard hitting speed metal.
Yeah. Take a breath. This band has never let me down. Always kick ass, aggressive and driving. whatever you choose to do next is going to be burning.
check out Cadaver/Revadac by Unlucky Morpheus, they reverse the score of the song half way through, playing Cadaver backwards to make Revadac. It's a masterpiece.

Please next Cadaver/Revadac or their singer's solo project Fuki - Bloody Rain. Those two songs are insane!
They are the greatest modern day progressive heavy metal band in the world. If their management will allow them to tour around the world they would be very famous. I hope the word gets out around the World about them because years from now we’re gonna look back on this era and realize we had one of the all-time great bands under our nose and didn’t realize it outside of Japan
From what I’ve read, UM is self managed and not affiliated with a recording management. They apparently feel fine playing smaller venues and so may not tour overseas very much if at all.
I highly recommend 殺戮のミセリア and Angreifer live videos from their official chanel.
Amazing band and an awesome song! Maybe try Knight of Sword by them if you want to try an MV, or check them out playing Angreifer or Cadavar / Revadac live!

Yes, another great japanese band. We all should be thankful to Babymetal for having opened this new world of metal to people outside Japan. I would also recommend Yousei Teikoku (one of the guitar players of Unlucky also plays there), my suggestions are "Astral Dogma" or "Shito Kamadeshi Hametuno"...

Not too many these days have heard of Yousei Teikoku. Astral Dogma is a great song. She has a peculiar voice that grows on you!
Love Unlucky Morpheus....playlist is deep....:) They ate a supergroup, each one is also a membet of othet bands if I rememver correctly... Every member is amazing. Fuki-san on vocals, powering easily through all that metal with her big voice! Incredible....There are not many that can top her.... I think they aren't bigger just because of the lenguaje (when you look up for them you realize most of their material is in japanese, titles of the songs and everything, so is hard to find)

Don't listen to Cadaver/revadaC 😁 they play the song forward/backward, you will be shocked 😲😌
Probably many people will recommend CADAVER / REVADAC but for me the best ones are Change of generation and Angrefier if you would like to listen to a violin and guitar melody with feeling

"Not out of sync, but something else. The composition is played first forwards (in "cadaver" part) and then backwards (in "redavac" part) and the whole thing recorded on video. In the video editing they placed reversed clips of video from the backwards playthrough ("redavac") into the video of the forwards part and later reversed clips of video from the forwards playthrough ("cadaver") into the video of the backwards part. That gives the eerie and artsy effect of kind-of matching vocals but not quite (so it is not quite in sync but not because it is out of sync). -- Read the above slowly again, and it should hopefully be more clear and concise than other explanation attempts i have seen...
Additional details: You can also see other things like leaves(?) falling upwards and unnatural looking movements in the reversed clips.

I don't like Unlucky Morpheus, but I really like this singer, Fuyuki Tenge. You should listen band LightBringer, the band which she sang in. ;)
