That sunset was beautiful. Looked like the sky was on fire. Liz, that hat in the wind 😂😂😂 You reminded us of the flying nun (how old are we 😝). That road made my stomach hurt! Wow and you get all that for $10 😮 And I know it was last weeks video but you did great on your hair Liz!! And Charlie, you are looking dapper as always!! Great video guys!! Can’t wait for the next adventure ❤️
🤣 the hat is ridiculous and that is the best part of it. Glad we got our money back on the site. We would have called it a lost but had to get our streak of free camping back.
Because of your work, passion, your urge to explore, your breathtaking views, I look at this world differently, even in my own work and videos. I really appreciate everything you do. What an excellent journey, thanks for sharing all parts of your adventures! This was so stunning, your photography is out of this world along with your editing skills! Definitely an amazing place!
@@TheAdventureCloset Yes definitely, anytime! That would be awesome! And the same goes for if we ever get to take this RV trip and are lucky enough to cross paths along the way!
Wow big Bend had some high cliffs at the end there, The spines on some of the cactus were wicked. I hope you got your fee back from the unreachable campsite. Charlie you are smart to get out and walk it and decide how to pick a path through it, but in the dark and when your tired is rough. kudos to you. I would say you got to see a lot of visible light, I bet the horse was thirsty . the horses mane and tail were growing out. I would say it had been trimmed at some point by humans. Hope it gets a chance to be with a herd . I am going to pray that he finds water and kinship. Whitehorse of big bend, we pray you find new grass, water and a small band of kin to be with as you wonder the earth. Make it so Lord. Amen. what is happening with me, my friend of 30 years is dying of cancer, my son took me to her yesterday to say goodbye. its so hard. getting up today and having my coffee and breakfsst with you two, Made it feel less lonely. i
Oh Maxine, we are so sorry to hear about your friend of 30 years. That has to be really difficult. I wish we could give you the biggest hug. You are so wonderful and uplifting. I'm sure you've been the best friend anyone could ever have.
The white knuckle ride trying to reach site #5 and being so tired! Ugh! Then to get up for a hike without coffee or breakfast?!? Oh my goodness. Talk about dedication. Maybe the good looking coyote is why the wildlife is invisible. Beautiful horse!!!!!
I am only at 11:21 in and I’m watching this with my thumbs in my ears and fingers over my eyes as you drive to find camp spot #5! It’s like a scary movie. You are the bravest couple ever! And trusting of each other. ❤️❤️ Ok -on with the show. Fingers crossed for Opal’s safety as I go back to the video !
Been there! Done That✅ EXTREME DEJAVU!!! We did go down a 4X4 only road ( we are not 4X4…. Shhhh, don’t let our van hear that) we did make it to our campsite 🏕 I Carrie hiked the Santa Elena canyon and kayaked the Rio Grande….. which was much smaller than I thought it would be! We saw javelina and picked up a Texas souvenir of a broken windshield and driver-side mirror! How awesome to see a wild horse!!!!
You guys have done so much cool stuff. Sounds like Big Bend is just a wild adventure for all. So many ups and downs. Kayaking the Rio grande sounds amazing. Thanks for watching guys!!!
Such a beautiful sunset and then that road 😨 Then it only gets worse. Love how yous joked around with the beard once yous were able to lay down and get some much needed rest 😄 Oh ya look at that wild horse, so beautiful 🐎The hike through the canyon was gorgeous !
If you liked the "invisible wildlife" sign you would have LOVED this one! On a dirt road near the park entrance coming from Marathon my buddy and I came across a pseudo-historical marker that went something like this: ANCESTRAL HOME OF THE FUKAWI Years ago a tribe of Native Americans inhabited this area. It is believed that they used to come to high points in the area, look out at the landscape, and say "where the Fukawi?" That was in the mid-80s, I hope that sign is still there!
First off the museum with the fossils was awesome , secondly HOLY CRAP!! that road was like some of the stuff I took out at Topaz Mountain , Mind you I was driving up a Mountain , that road was completely uncalled for with it saying you didn't need 4X4 or high clearance, Im glad you two got your money back and got to get some sleep.
Oh yeah that area by Topaz Mountain has some really rough spots. We got a flat out by there when we were out that way. Worth it though, but we didn't do Topaz itself. Just everything around there.
Some good hikes on this adventure, glad y'all got your money back man that was a ugly road, great footage of the invisible wild life!! Haha damn that tarantula was scary looking, great shot of the horse.
Texas wasn’t high up on our list to visit but I’d bump it up just for this park. That was beautiful! Glad y’all made it on the road and at least found a spot to stop at. They should have labeled that road better.
That sunrise was amazing! The sun looked so huge. I just love the geology of Texas. Being the largest state in the country of course there'll be large open areas of nothingness but there are also so many amazing breathtaking locations to visit. Honestly, I don't know why I live in Las Vegas when I could be in Texas. Maybe one day! Great video! Thanks for showing us places most of us may never get to go as well as showing us places we should some day visit. Maybe one day you guys will have an Opal 2.0 equipped with 4wheel drive. Then your possibilities of travel would be endless.
You'd do well in that Texas heat since you're used to it. That's the plan is to get a 4x4 someday or atleast higher clearance. Thank you for the kind words. It sure is fun showing everyone the world through our lenses as well as seeing others.
Wow, the sunsets and sunrises and the rock formations was so beautiful. I teared up at one point. One of my favorite spots you have shared so far. No thanks for the spider.. LOL but OMG the horse and the coyote... beautiful beings. The roads say opal needs a lift kit and tires to handle those roads. I couldn't imagine driving down them for miles and miles like you all do. If I ever was to visit Texas, this is where I would go... funtabulous as always... keep on adventuring and putting smiles on faces like mine... much love to you guys and thank you for all your hard work that goes into this adventure you guys are on.
sweet museum crazy stuff in there , that was a horrible road . that first mountain was odd looking , looked like it was made with play dough , yall didnt get video of liz balancing that stone ??? that canyon was large really cool out there
I love that intro of you guys being all candid. You can tell you guys make a great couple. I think you're an inspiration to many of us watching your videos. You guys I'm sure have your moments like all couples do. But, to be on the adventure of a lifetime like you guys are takes a level of love and trust that sadly many couples probably couldn't do. You guys are awesome, really! Also, is it me or are the channel intros just a little different each time? Lol, its like Game of Thrones intro with little subtle differences. That drive to the campsite was making me laugh and cringe at the same time. That was nuts!!! I'm sure not at all what you guys were expecting. You guys get to see some many awesome sunsets. That sunrise though at Big Bend was spectacular! Hahaha, Liz you should of taken a picture of Charlie holding the balancing rock over his head like Atlas! Great video 😁 Bye now 🖖
Haha! Yes we do change the intro slightly on occasion to keep it relavent and give hints to future videos. Cool that you noticed. Thank you deeply for your compliments. We've been married 15 years and have only grown closer. Doing vanlife earlier on might have been more challenging. We've found that this lifestyle has only made us closer and more understanding of eachother. It's been a a great experience despite the obvious challenges.

The fun, adventure, and amazing beauty balance out all the stressful stuff! Wow, some amazing geology there at Big Bend. That was awesome 😊
It was all one big adventure even with the stress. It was an experience to remember.

Lol, we are such silly people and seem to be getting less camera shy. Glad we're not scaring our friends away. Haha!
Great place for a hike, and love the sombrero……you guys have found so many great places in Texas that I didn’t really know existed….😃
We searched hard and ended up finding some real gems. Thank you!
